Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Kennewick, WA

This site was right next to Fort Walla Walla, with a park and dog park. Not much else here but weird animal statues and long-term RVers. Lots of hookups for RV and trailers. No tent or car camping. The bathrooms were still closed June 2021, need to use your own hookups.

Spent a fun weekend here. Site was easy to back into. Clean and level. Lots of shade and grass. Allows pets (on leash) fun little park for the kids and nice little beach for swimming.

We were passing through and Horn Rapids was perfect for our use. It has a nice little mini mart, drive through spots, full hookups, playground for the kids, clean bathrooms/showers, and allows pets. It is also close to Safeway and right outside the gate is a camper trailer friendly gas station with diesel.

We will definitely be adding this spot to our route again when we pass through.

Our GPS took us right to the campground (CG) plus there was plenty of Blue Valley RV Park signage to guide the way into a small industrial area and the adjacent golf course. Check-in was quick and we proceeded to back-in site 8 with FHUs. The utilities are towards the back of the pad, so I had to use two sewer hoses to get from the main black tank on our Brinklely G model. The sites on this side of the CG are nicely landscaped with a decent amount of room. After reviewing all the rules on line, we were a little concerned but the management was not overbearing and there are four main rules as displayed when you check in 1) 5 mph speed limit, 2) don’t park in the road) 3) pick up after your pet, and 4) pets on a leash. Water pressure was good at about 50 psi. We got 4 bars on Verizon. There were no mature trees in our area, so we did not have a problem getting a clear shot north for our Starlink. We logged into the Wifi and it was above average, but the CG was not full. The CG is near a small but nice industrial area near the police station and humane society. Go to Walla Walla’s main street area where there are far more wine tasting rooms than you can do in a day. Grab pizza from the Sweet Basil Pizzeria. This CG was a good choice to visit the area.

May 26 - June 6, 2019 Beautiful park. Site 23 has electric. Water is nearby. Restroom was just OK. Water tank can be filled at park at dump station : (    We paid $12 using our lifetime senior pass. Temperature ranged from 40 to 80 degrees.

The Nary National Wildlife Refuge is very close. 

We enjoyed Round Table Pizza and Kiko's Tacos in Kennewick, WA.

I feel compelled to share that we preferred Richland to Kennewick overall, so this will definitely show in my reviews. This was a nice little spot if you’re looking to stay for awhile

We tried to find a campground nearby because it was getting late and somehow this site never popped up on this app for me -but, we ended up seeing a sign for it and turned in and were pleasantly surprised. Water fountains, sinks, flush toilets, fire pits and all of that. There are (harmless) spiders all over the trees and bushes (but I've read that about almost all of the surrounding campgrounds). Not sure whether they enforce payments or not, but the sign said it was $15 per site with $5 for an additional car. This was a nice place to stop in the middle of nowhere. Also, most of the campsites were empty so we were able to have our pick from some great spots. Plus, we made friends with a very friendly cat who was staying there.

I appreciate the green in this park, but hate that the sprinklers have to be running almost non-stop to keep it that way. The noise of them scared my cat. 

Tried to check in early, but was not allowed. Hung out in the day-use area. 

The sites were big and some nice trees. 

Electric, but no water. Was told to fill up jugs at the faucets scattered around the park. The water was disgusting! I filled one jug and it came out a light brown color. The park host saw the expression on my face and came over to tell me the water is tested every day and is safe to drink. Safe or not, I was not about the drink that. 

There's a nice walk around a pond in the back of the campground. Overall, a decent place to stay if you're in the area, but not my favorite.

Freeway noise aside, this is a great park with plenty of amenities. The park is very clean and the staff was helpful. We stayed in the new section with full hook-ups. Plenty of space in the new section between spots. Huge, clean hot shower/bathrooms scattered around. Laundry was coin-op, cheaper than the in-town laundromat, and very efficient. Large park with dog run on far side, with smaller park (no dog run) on new side. Our St. Bernard loved exploring this little area. Would definitely stay again and recommend!

I spent a beautiful lazy weekend there with my bf and dogs 🐶.

Looks great on paper. However these people must be into  froufrou type dogs. 40 POUND LIMIT. We travel with our fur kids (over 40 pounds). Shallow minded management.

Seems more like an rv park than a campground. Someone let there dog pee at our site as we were pulling up and it backs up to apartments. Never again.

This is a beautiful campground with lots of trees and spacious sites. Great view of the river with clean and well kept sites. There is a cool walking trail with various exercise equipment along the path. Dog 🐕 friendly and clean/hot showers.

Relatively new campground. They are in process of completing a playground and dog walk. They have a pool and hot tub. All laundry, bathroom and shower facilities require a code. Sites are average. Some come with grills and patio furniture. All come with picnic tables. Lush grass sites, very clean. Some highway noise but not that bad. Close to several towns and RV stores.

We stayed for 4 nights while hunting in the area. Place is well maintained and we had more than adequate space but that is due to few campers. Would be a typical rv park spacewise otherwise. Amenities seemed up to snuff and appreciate their dog friendly approach. Local wines at store but no tastings at rv park this time of year. Wineries in walking distance a huge plus. Loved Coyote Canyon!

We stayed here in the off season, it’s first come first served parking, which ended up being really great for us. We got to park with a view of the river and away from other RVs. The spaces are large, there is a bathroom and showers on site. There is a nice walking path, and loads of grass and beach and places to walk your dog. We all had a very nice overnight experience.

This is a really nice spot. We initially scheduled for a two day stop but stayed for four. This park is very clean, extremely well maintained, quiet, and has lots of dog walking areas. The staff are the most courteous and kind people I’ve met in awhile. We parked our Class A in a pull thru and they even guided us in and assisted with hookups. Obviously, we know how to do all this but it shows how they manage to keep everything working beautifully. Convenient to Camping World, too.

So… many… spiders! I paid 20 bucks for 1 night tent camping for me and 2 dogs. The campground is absolutely gorgeous with lots of trees and water views. A little confusing to get to since there isn’t much signage to guide you and I ended up going to wrong way the first time. They have bathrooms with showers available for use. I was very very satisfied here but once it got a little darker, all the creepy crawlers started coming out and I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many spiders in one place. In the morning, I had spiders in each of my door handles, my mirrors, when I turned on my car they started crawling out of the hood of my car, and I had spiders coming out of my trunk for a week. I am not a “beginning camper” so I’m used to bugs and spiders on my trips but I’ve never had this many in one place. There are really cute baby frogs hopping all around in the mornings though which was very cute. Just watch your step. Probably won’t be going back because of the spiders though…

Clean and an excellent place to rest of between long drives in eastern/central Washington

Camping here is nice on the Columbia River Washington side. Little breezy at times. $40.00 a night for RV $30.00 for veterans $20.00 for tents

This KOA campground and RV parkis very well maintained. Plenty of open sites while we were there. We loved the propane fill service and handy garbage pick-up service. All of the staff were extra helpful. This park is conveniently located near shopping, restaurants, theaters, sports areas and a European bakery to die for. We will call this KOA home whwn we are in eastern washington. The only reason for 4 stars is the washing machine being broken.

The Umatilla Marina & RV Park is a small park on the edge of Oregon and Washington along the Columbia River. The park is clean, well maintained, and has water, electricity, and a dump station. 

The marina has a large parking lot and spots to clean fish. There is a nice park and swimming area for kids.

The McNary Dam and Fish window are a few miles down the road and well worth a visit (when open).

Park was full and office closed when we pulled in and manager Katie saw us drive through and flagged us down. She made space for us and even loaned a 30 to 50 amp adapter so we could hook up our 30 amp plug. Showers were nicer than any other on our 2800 mile trip from Arkansas (11 days on road so far) and park is quiet and shaded right by the water. We would recommend this park to anyone passing through Benton City Washington

Scootney is definitely a surprising oasis in the desert of eastern washington. Its camp ground is dry with no trailer hookups, but a dump site if you need it. The fishing is great and the locals fish out here all the time. Bass and walleye are caught almost year round here. The lake is in the scrub land though so there is not a whole lot of shade. Be prepared it can get really hot out there. The swimming area is nice and open and the day use section of the park is used by locals all year round.
