Best Campgrounds near Lamont, WA

The wind had torn part of our roof and we had to find a place to stay a few nights, quickly and tarp before rain came. They accommodated our stay and even lent us a ladder to use while repairing the damage.

After camping on BLM lands & staying at smaller campgrounds, we were excited to stay at a KOA. It was a good price & the grounds were decent; we stayed in the fall & the changing trees everywhere were beautiful. The amenities on the other hand… The laundry room floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a LONG time & half of the washing machines were out of order. The showers weren’t aesthetically in great shape & the drains clearly needed to be cleaned as I was quickly standing in inches of water (picture taken). Then there’s the topic of the trains… The person who checked us in at the front specifically told us we were in a quiet spot in the back.. yes we were away from other campers but the heart attack from the blaring horn at 2:30am was rough. Then we were woken up at 6am by RVs coming in/ out. All that being said, we will be finding another option for the rest of our trip. I always hate leaving bad reviews, but hopefully sharing our experience is helpful to others.

EDIT: Wrote this review before we went into Spokane (we’re here to visit family who goes to GU) & after searching for hours, realized this is probably the best option in the area, so I’m humbled to say we did in fact have to come back for another night but are staying in a spot further away from the train

A bathroom and a parking lot to camp in. THE VIEWS are are a must see, the scablands of Washington are up there with the badlands in unique

What an amazing spot. Many of the spots are RV accessible a decent gravel road goes through the entire area. Very little traffic people seem to care about the area cuz it's really clean. No hookups excellent phone service cell phone towers just around the corner. No traffic noise. Depending on where you are in the camp you will hear a train come by every couple hours. It's not too close I'm not too loud. Around 2:00 a.m. every morning the coyotes have a 2 to 3 minute party. It's amazing to hear him. Never saw one though they keep away.

We just stayed here for the first time. We were at Boyer Park & Marina, a KOA,  Sept. 1-5, 2024.  While the campground was full when we pulled in on Sunday, it was almost empty when we woke up Labor Day morning. Even when full, everything was pretty quiet. The beach and walking paths are very nice and close by no matter which spot you're in.  Just below the Lower Granite Dam, it's an easy three mile round trip walk on a paved Snake River Trail. I do not recommend making that journey when it's 83 degrees and getting warmer. UGH

The store is great with many clothing options and more. Mike and Monica who run the place are so nice and very helpful. Apparently we really missed out by not taking advantage of the grill and ordering a Smash Burger, which will even be delivered to your campsite. 
We will definitely be back.

Take a night or two to visit this nearly unused campground. What a wonder. You are on the Ridgeline between two valleys with views of the horizons of 50 miles or more. To the east ot is very much like the views in the Smokey mountains. Not a lot of shade at this campground. Great for solar and Skylink. ATT and Verizon were 3 plus. Make certain the chores are done and the drinks are made before the light show begins at sundown. Vault toilets, picnic tables and fire rings. Sites at this campground are reasonably flat and deep but not a lot of room for pop-ups.

Camping here is free.

My only criticism is the distance between signs on a very small road. A few more signs would be reassuring. For this campground, head generally south on Skyline Drive until you think you should be there, then go 2 more miles.

Well, it was a beautiful area , with great scenery but if you have kids under 10 yrs old there is absolutely nothing for them to do. I mean NOTHING. We won't go back. We never saw a single staff member or volunteer in 3 days.

   Everyone at the camp ground was constantly being attacked by yellow jackets, being stung multiple times. The bathroom toilets had no cover so the bugs were bad. Other than that everything about the place was beautiful and fun

The drive was mostly dirt roads. I managed just fine in a Subaru for context. The hike itself was incredible and a bit primitive at points. Bring bug spray and maybe a machete lol. I was getting close to where one of the waterfalls was and ran into a Coyote who would not budge. That pretty much ended the hike as I could hear others howling nearby.

The hike back was even amazing with the Sunset and landscape making me feel like I was on another planet. The best part was pure luck as I setup camp on the road back during a new moon which was perfect for star gazing and astro photography. I’m an amateur and took my time to learn my camera a bit. This little adventure was my favorite thus far this year.

I love camping at Bowl and Pitcher at least once a year. It's a well kept campground in a gorgeous state park with great hiking and walking trails! I strongly suggest campsite 24 for tent campers, it is the one I always get when I camp here. It is large, nicely shaded, and more private than a lot of the other campsites at the campground.

We were lucky and got a last minute ADA site. This site was amazingly clean and with its own private gazebo and concrete slab. The 4 newly upgraded bathrooms each have a flush toilet, sink, and accessible shower. The site has an incredible view of Long Lake but it’s a bit windy too. Please note this campground does not have a RV dump station. To access the water it’s best to drive from your campsite. The boat launch and swim area is nice with lots of individual gazebos and picnic tables. The swim area doesn’t appear to be toddler friendly as it isn’t a gradual incline into the water. There is a single ramp for access however. The restrooms here are 2 vault toilets. We would probably visit this location again.
