Nice but?

The park is ok but most sites are shared camp sides. And they aren’t very big. The park is in a cool location and has nice area amenities. Arches is 10 minutes, canyon lands is 45. The park has a neat area with games to do. I just don’t care for the shared campside. Our dogs do not need a reason to bark. Nice pool. Would probably pick another park.

Excellent Car Camping Site

Clean. The tent spots had a nice canopy so your tent stays shaded and dry. Power and potable water. The staff was super helpful. Amenities included a pool and hot tub (we didn’t use). Laundry machines and a microwave. Although others commented on noise - we backed onto a protected area and we found it quieter than many sites we’ve stayed at near a highway. The property was clean - the bathrooms and showers could be cleaner. Great access to the park. If you’re coming from Denver - route 128 is about 30 min longer and slower but well worth the drive for the amazing scenery.

Great Location, Small Spots, Who cares?

Great location right at the doorstep of Arches, and a bit outside of downtown Moab. Standard spots are a bit small, and you’ll be dependent on the… social skills… of your neighbors with shared green space / picnic areas near the pads. 50A service at our site and a couple next to us was spotty in its overall quality - probably an open ground or something. We made it work, though, and Canyonlands and Arches are their own treat. Bathrooms are clean, although a walk from the furthest sites. Great view from the campground. Overall, pretty great, good staff, would come again.

Nice place

This is a pretty nice campground with all the amenities you would want. Unfortunately, it looks like they could use some additional cleaning staff to keep the showers and restrooms clean.

Beautiful setting, good location

We’ve stayed at 3 of the 4 sun outdoors in Moab now. We drive a class c and do not tow a car. The Moab transit is convenient and user friendly. We love the arches gateway for its more spacious sites and amenities. And like Moab downtown for its ease of walking around but it’s a tight fit and smaller. Pool here was great. Nice laundry, great bike wash, loved the playground, nice staff, great amenities. We had an ideal site with a nice big lawn area we set up a whole game area in.

Good value for your money

Found this campsite using this app. We ended up staying 2 more nights. All facilities are very clean, showers are great, the kids just loved the pool. We stayed in a full hookup tent site, which has nice shade. You can hear the highway and AC's from the Airstream Park. But not too loud. We didn't mind. Campground is ideal for visits to Arches (5 minutes to entrance) or Canyonlands.

Close as you can get to the Arches entrance

This park is very close to Arches entrance, so we chose it, that and we have stayed at several Sun properties. So we paid the higher than average price in the area to stay there.

The folks at check in we very nice. Once we were at the site, we noticed all camp side tables and pad were shared. 2 tables about 10 feet apart. That is why in the rows, one RV parks north the other the south. Whoever thought this up, hopefully he is out of the business. Our common site folks we nice and wondered what table was theirs. You can't help meeting people here. :-)

Winter Stay

We camped in one of the small RV spots. It was nice that we were the only ones on the north side of the campground. Very quiet and peaceful compared to the summer months. The bathroom was closed for renovations on the north side so we would have to walk or drive to the south side for the bathroom. Other than that, amenities were nice (electric and water).

Good campground, good location

Camped in our RV here for a little over a week. During off-season, so there were only a few other campers and the pool & hot tub were closed. Showers could have definitely been warmer and there are no fire pits, just a charcoal grill. Employees were helpful and friendly. Kiddos loved the playground and giant outside games. Site is just outside of downtown and across the street from an easy, paved bike trail that takes you right to downtown.

Tight spots. Neighbors very close.

Bathhouse is in good clean condition. 3 toilets, 2 urinals, 4 showers. Nice setup with few bugs in July.

Pool looked very clean, covered each night.

Campground kept clean.

Horrible Customer Service

This company and RV site have horrible customer service. If something comes up and you are forced to cancel, you can call them repeatedly, and they won't answer. You can leave a voicemail; they won't return it. When will they contact you? When they call to ask why you didn't show up for your reservation. Then they will tell you that despite your attempts to cancel, they will not give you a refund; instead, they will provide you with a credit that they know you can't use. This is unacceptable and an example of horrible customer service; also, it is a borderline scam. Do not use this campsite.

The only reason for 4 stars is the price. With taxes and fees, a pull through site is over $100. But it’s beautiful here. Close to Arches and Canyon lands, and the views from the campground are excellent.

Ants

I tried to tent camp here late one night in Aug. 2020. It was dark when I arrived. I picked a random tent site on the after-hours registration board, deposited my envelope in the box, and drove to the site. My red tail lights illuminated an ant hole with black ants crawling around. I tried to sleep in the bed of my truck to no avail. It was hot. I gave up around 2am and drove to a motel in Moab. I called the next day to complete the registration process and explain why I didn’t check-in in the morning and ensure to pay anyway, but no one answered or called me back.

Nice Amenities

We stayed here for two days after picking up our new travel trailer as our first test run.

My first impression is that this is a well designed park with nice amenities. With a mini putting green, oversized outdoor chess and checker set and beanbag court, there was some fun things for me to do with my kiddo. Sites are neat, utilities laid out well, and everything is clean and tidy. WiFi worked really well too. There is also a pool, but it was a little chilly for that.

This campground is very close to downtown Moab as well as Arches NP, which is where we spent a full day.

For newbies like us, a few considerations: sites slope downhill ever so slightly, so be prepared to try and level your rig. Also, the spaces are close together with narrow entries, so we had to take our time pulling our 32’ TT through so we didn’t clip either side. But you can also chalk that up to inexperience.

Would definitely stay again!

Moab Valley RV Resort, Utah

Located right off of highway 191, Moab Valley RV Resort is in the perfect location, especially for those looking to visit the national parks. Arches National Park is a short, 5 minute drive and Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse State Park are located 25 minutes away. The quaint town of Moab is a short 5 minute drive in the other direction and offers several options for restaurants, shops, hotels and a grocery store.

The campground bathrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. They also offer a nice dog park and recreation area along the tree line. During the winter the check in center is closed, but they provided us with all the information we needed prior to arrival. Overall we were pleased with the stay and we’re stunned by the surrounding area and all Moab has to offer.

Perfect place for R&R after it backpacking trip.

We spent one night here after a three day bikepacking trip and enjoyed all the amenities. Electricity, heated bathrooms and hot showers, laundry, Wi-Fi. Pretty much had it all. The RV sites were close to each other but due to Covid guests were spaced out. Being the middle of winter that was not really an issue. Plenty of space. Due to the winter season, camper sinks and bike washing station were closed. Still possible to get fill propane tanks and dump sewage.

So I attempted to go to Slickrock Campground as a walk-in, they didn’t except walk ins. Then came across Moab Valley RV resort and found it to be so easy to self check in/pay with my tear drop trailer. Ended up just needing a car camping spot and parked my vehicle in the overflow parking spot. Perfectly maintained. Has showers, a pool, convenient store, and grills. Had no complaints for this place. Will definitely come again if visiting Moab. And only a 5 minute drive to Arches National Park. All staff were so friendly. I recommend to all.
