Tohickon Family Campground

Fishing enthusiasts will find direct access to Tohickon Creek at this family-oriented campground near Quakertown. The property features full hookup sites accommodating RVs up to 40 feet, plus tent camping areas that can become muddy during wet conditions. A covered bridge sits at the front entrance, requiring larger rigs to navigate around it for access.

The campground operates more like a seasonal RV park than a transient facility, with many sites occupied by long-term residents. Jessica V. notes "they have a nice stream that everyone went fishing at" during her family weekend stay. Recent construction has added new gravel sites with updated hookups, though some areas remain under development. The bathhouse receives mixed reviews for cleanliness and age.

Activities center around the creek and include a playground with construction digging area for children. The seasonal pool operates from 11 AM to 7 PM when open, while the on-site cafe and store maintain limited weekend and weekday hours respectively. WiFi coverage extends throughout the campground, though cellular service varies by carrier. An old mill and rustic barn on the property provide historical character to the setting.

Site conditions vary significantly across the property. Tent campers should expect rocky ground in some areas, with staff willing to relocate guests to grassier spots when available. Stephen W. describes "spacious sites" with "nice new gravel and hook ups" in recently developed sections. The campground allows pets and offers reasonable rates for full hookup camping.

Campers seeking additional options in the region can explore camping near Richlandtown or visit nearby Nockamixon State Park Cabins for state park amenities. The location provides convenient access to Quakertown for supplies and services within a 15-minute drive.

Wonderful campground!

Great camping, great hiking, pretty close to stores if you need anything. Staff is incredible!! Very polite, helpful, and just all around awesome People!!! They make sure your stay is exactly what you’d want it to be.. getting here was a little tricky having to go around the covered bridge but not anything that would ever deter me and my family from coming back. Overall very impressed!! They even were able To get us in very last minute WITH full hook ups for my trailer!!!!

Great weekend spot

We went with friends for a weekend. Both families have little kids and it was a great spot with a playground, construction digging area, and a bunch of activities for the kids to do. We went in September so the pool was closed but it looked like a nice size. Full hook ups which was great! Also they have a nice stream that everyone went fishing at. They are building some new sites at the end of the property.

Its ok. Nothing special about it.

We recently went camping with a tent there. Not tent friendly first night we slept on rocks second night we got moved to a spot which actually had some grass. Everything has weird hours. The cafe is only open on weekends and the store is only open from like 10:00 to 4:00 p.m. and that's it. The pool hours are good they're from 11:00 to 7:00. The bath houses are fine. It's just that there's nothing to do in the morning time nothing at all the lake that you want to call it or river it was all green like there's better campsites out there but this one isn't that bad If you're just staying for a night or two but just do not use a tent.

Good for short stay

Stayed 3 nights to open up camper and make sure everything was working. Perfect for that but a bit on the expensive side. Looks like they are making improvements so still construction going on. Overall a nice campground. Good not great.

No Thanks

The non-seasonal sites are under construction. No real tree cover for shade. Sites are unlevel and on gravel with a small grass patch. Bath house isn't clearly marked and visible at night. Mostly clean but very old and outdated. Very little activites. Wasn't a good fit for our family with 4 kids. Staff was friendly. Maybe after construction it will be better.

Campground wedding

We got married here so obviously Tohickon Family Campground will forever hold a special place in my family’s heart. The rustic barn and meadow by the creek was exactly what my wife and I wanted for our special day. The fact that there was an old mill on the property and a covered bridge right out front for post wedding photos was icing on the cake for us. The campground itself is average, seems a little outdated but overall in good condition. I personally didn’t use the bathhouse so I cannot comment. Price for full hookup campsites are very reasonable. Bottom line if you are looking for a modern campground with tons of amenities for $100 a night this is not the campground for you, but if your looking for a nice quiet simple campground with beautiful rustic setting at a very reasonable price than it’s perfect.

Muddy

We had a great Halloween weekend but we were down by creek so it was very muddy. Everything else about this campground was great!

It's fine

Nothing bad about this place, I love that it's set far enough away from the main road that you don't get the noise.

Great But...

Its a great campGround But There are some cons. Don't come if your in a tent And It Has Been ior will rain, It Becomes Flooded or turns into A mudPit. All The Private or Good spots are usually taken By seasonals But the other spots are decent if you Have A Big rig it can Be A little squish.

Pros Great People beautiful surroundings Nice Bathrooms Quiet and Peaceful Accessible Nice Pool Every store U could Need is in about 15 mins Away Not Alot of Stupid rules just Be respectful Pet friendly

I Been coming Here for years Never Had A Bad Time.

Muddy and not terribly tent-friendly

It's more like a permanent RV park than a campground. The rain made the dirt in the tent campground turn to pure mud and the picnic table was unusable because it was in the middle of it. The fire rings were way too far from the picnic table and there was poison ivy on the few trees around. Nice proximity to Quakertown but will likely never stay there again. Way too expensive for the value.
