    Traders Village RV Park

Houston, Tx…..Nothing to get excited about

It’s a large campground and spaces are very small. There’s a grass strip between camp sites. No picnic tables or grills. The office gave us a map and showed us how to get to our site but virtually impossible to understand. A very nice gentleman that stayed here took us to our site. He said they have no idea how to do directions and a buddy of his really messed up his camper by trolling around looking for their site. It’s very crowded and no room for awnings or for both campers side by side to put out awnings. There is a pool but it doesn’t look well maintained and there’s absolutely no chairs. Just the pool and it’s small. Laundry room is large. There’s no dog park or anywhere to walk your dog. Signs everywhere that say no pets, yet they are allowed. The flea market is only on the wknd. It’s close to a lot of restaurants and in a nice area.

Houston / Med Center KOA Holiday

    A lot of Amenities

The park is clean, but the sites are tight. The further you get to the front the louder the traffic noise is, but the sites are larger and spaced out more. It is a five and take. It has three locations with washer and dryers, two dog parks, a recreation room and easy access to Tom Bass park.

    Galveston Island KOA Holiday

    Amazing week by the beach!!

What a great park!! We had been there a couple years ago, before it was a KOA and glad it still had the same feel!! We LOVED it!! The weather was perfect, the beach is accross the highway (easy to walk to) and there are multiple beaches along the island that you can drive to and some, even drive on!! The park had a pool, lazy river, dog park, cabins, nice laundryroom and adult beverages served at the office as well as available in their store. The staff was awesome and they keep you informed by text about goings on in the park. We booked again for next year!

Stafford, Texas sits at an elevation of 96 feet above sea level in Fort Bend County, experiencing a humid subtropical climate with hot summers reaching 95°F and mild winters averaging 45°F. The area receives approximately 45 inches of rainfall annually, making spring and fall the optimal camping seasons when temperatures moderate between 65-85°F. Campgrounds near Stafford offer varied terrain from wooded sites to open grasslands with access to nearby natural water features.

What to do

Observatory stargazing at night: Brazos Bend State Park Campground hosts an observatory with special weekend events throughout the year. "The best part of this park is the observatory, which has special events and regular weekend hours pretty much all year. It's absolutely worth staying up late for this!" notes Kim B. The park is particularly known for clear night sky viewing when weather permits.

Wildlife observation walks: Brazos Bend State Park Campground provides marked trails specifically for spotting native wildlife, particularly alligators. "Brazos Bend is know as the Alligator Park…and for good reason! Of you go on a moderate temperature day (this is the key. If it is too hot or cold you won't see Gators) you can see literally dozens of massive alligators," reports Ashley C.

Biking on park paths: Tom Bass Park connects to Houston / Med Center KOA Holiday through direct access points. "Great campground with wonderful staff who are very friendly. The best thing about the location is that it backs up to Tom Bass park that has wonderful dog parks along with playgrounds and frisbee golf," explains Tawnya.

What campers like

Clean, well-maintained facilities: Medical Center RV Resort receives consistent praise for its cleanliness standards. "Wide roads to maneuver and large spaces made it easy to get in and get setup, no cars clogging the lanes. Private rooms in the bathhouse let you feel comfortable and not like a locker room," says Nathan.

Pet-friendly accommodations with specialized amenities: Dog friendly campgrounds near Stafford often include specialized pet amenities. "They have 2 dog runs, one of them being the largest dog run weve seen at a campground so our mali really got to sprint it out. They also had a free dog wash! both our doggos got washed and it was easy to use with hot and cold water and a larger blow dryer!" shares Marie B. about Highway 6 RV Resort.

Proximity to medical facilities: Some Stafford area pet-welcoming campgrounds offer special services for those needing medical care. "We stayed here for five days while visiting MD Anderson. Everything about this park is top rate. A shuttle ran between the park and MD Anderson which made it very convenient for us," explains Holly D. from Lakeview RV Resort.

What you should know

Site spacing varies significantly: Highway 6 RV Resort has specific areas with better spacing between sites. "I lived in this park from October 2021 until mid May 2022. It is a clean and orderly place. I made good use of the showers and bathrooms that were always clean," reports Ben W.

Noise levels from nearby highways: Several pet-friendly RV parks near Stafford experience road noise due to their proximity to major thoroughfares. "From what I could see, this is a nice park practically in the middle of a freeway. No kidding, it's barely off of the off ramp," mentions HandL C.

Weather affects wildlife viewing: Temperature impacts alligator sightings significantly at nature-focused parks. "If you go in the summer you need to watch out for mosquitoes. The observatory is amazing on clear nights," warns Joseph P.

Tips for camping with families

Pool facilities for kids: Eric & Jay's RV Resort provides family-friendly swimming options. "The pros include a fire pit, a pool, a shared grilling area with a green egg and small workout area. The showers and bathrooms are immaculate and the showers are very spacious and nicely designed," notes Kristin S.

Educational nature programs: Parks with wildlife observation opportunities can be educational for children. "There is a small nature centre where you can pet baby Gators and learn about them. Lots of pretty trails and look outs," shares Ashley C.

Consider proximity to entertainment: Some parks provide direct access to weekend activities. "Perfect with families with kids to wake up and go shopping and cheap all day pass rides!! This place is a Must go!!!" enthuses Roxanne G. about Traders Village RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Check site dimensions before booking: Site sizes vary considerably between parks and within the same facility. "We stayed in the newer part of the campground which has only cement pads & gravel for each site. Super easy to park as all are pull through," observes Susan T. about AllStar RV Resort.

Consider seasonal rates: Many pet-accommodating campgrounds near Stafford adjust pricing based on season and length of stay. "A bit on the pricier side, but it is very well managed and well kept. Pool is clean, bathrooms are clean, laundry room clean and looked like all the machines worked. Level concrete pads," notes Al09 S.

Scout entrances before arrival: Several RV parks have challenging entrance approaches. "It was very full of non recreational people. No place to walk, can't wait to leave," cautions Wendy about USA RV Park, while another reviewer mentioned, "It's tight getting into the RV Resort from the main road. You do not want traffic on your butt when you are trying to make the turn in from the road."
