Brackenridge Park & Campground and Texana Park & Campground provide full pet access throughout their camping areas in Edna, Texas. Both locations allow pets at tent sites, RV spaces, and cabin accommodations with standard leash requirements. The campgrounds feature well-maintained grounds with ample space for dog walking along shorelines and throughout the properties. Brackenridge's security measures include gated access with changing entry codes and regular security patrols, creating a safe environment for campers and their pets. Texana Park imposes no breed restrictions but warns campers about local wildlife, including alligators in the lake that pet owners should be aware of when walking dogs near water areas.

Both parks offer extensive trail systems where leashed dogs can accompany their owners. Brackenridge Recreation Complex includes a designated dog park for off-leash exercise, while also featuring disc golf courses, hiking paths, and lakefront areas where pets can enjoy outdoor time. The 12-mile equestrian trail at Brackenridge allows both horses and mountain bikes, with pets welcome on leash. Wildlife encounters are common, with many campers reporting deer sightings in camping areas during morning and evening hours. Temperature management for pets requires attention, as summer months bring significant heat with limited shade at some RV sites. The parks remain open year-round with consistent pet policies regardless of season, though spring and fall provide more comfortable camping conditions for dogs due to milder temperatures.

      Serendipity Bay RV Resort

Peaceful but sites too close together

Very well-maintained and pet-friendly RV park with various amenities such as a pool, fishing pier, and dog park. Sites are very close together with little room to set up outside between RVs. Very little room to park vehicle once RV is in place and limited space to back in. Enjoyed the peaceful sunrises and sunsets and the constant breeze was a plus to keep the humidity and heat down. Take plenty of anti-mosquito repellent, as around mid-morning and late afternoon, the mosquitoes come out in force. A good location for those wishing to fish, but not sightseeing. The town has very few amenities and only a couple of restaurants and small stores.

      Whispering Oaks RV Park

      Nice campground

We were greeted immediately by a friendly attendant, and quickly led to our campsite. The grounds were lovely, with beautiful live oaks, a manicured walking path among the oaks behind the property, and a nice garden with chickens and guinea fowl for entertainment. The property included a playground, a dog park, and an activity center (inaccessible because of COVID), laundry facilities, propane, and more. Each campsite was very clean, with a picnic table, and lights in the oaks for ambiance.

      I recommend this place!

      Brackenridge Park & Campground

      Beautiful lake

Randomly found this campground. There are some shaded spots and some wide open areas. All of the rv area is behind locked gates with codes that change. There is a police car that patrols the area. There are trails, a dog park, the lake, wildlife, an event center up the road, a small ball field and .... Wish I had found this earlier in our travels

Gateway to the Gulf RV Park at Victoria-Port Lavaca

      Cramped

The sites are back-to-back. Not long enough to park both my truck and 5th wheel. I had to park my truck offsite. Concrete parking pad with grassy lawn. Otherwise clean and taken care of. Small laundry room with old machines. Small dog park.

They are very dog friendly with a dog park and daily trash pick up at your site. The kids loved the pool and us parents enjoyed the hot tub.

      Brackenridge Recreation Complex

A Full Recreation Area with camping

A minimum of water and electric at every site (which we don’t need) The feel is more community park with camping. There is a 12 mile equestrian trail which bikes are allowed to ride on. Other flat trails are around the park and water. It is completely full this Saturday and there are lots of families, music and fires burning. I do not consider this to be a serene wilderness/wildlife area but a Camping area full of activities. Looks like a great place for a family reunion or wedding. Complete with frisbee golf, boating, swimming, dog park, playground and more. The grounds are very well kept.

      Whispering Oaks RV Park

      A quiet little Gem!

What a gem of a park! We only stayed one night so I did not get to use any amenities except for the DOG Park! What a wonderful amenity with the automatic lights for after dark. Park was very clean and quiet. The way the site was set up was truly delightful. Picnic table in just the right place, Oak tree in just the right place, outdoor decorative lighting, awesome fire pit. I really wish I had time to stay longer. This place will be a“must” stay the next time I come thru. Highly recommend!

      Serendipity Bay RV Resort

      By the water

Nicely equipped RV park right on water. Paid a few more dollars to have a pull thru site with FHU, cable & level concrete pad to pull on to. Nice big bathrooms with showers, laundry, pool, playground, gym room, small fenced dog run and large heated community room. No pets allowed in laundry/community room.

    Guide to Edna

Camping near Edna, Texas offers access to both freshwater lake recreation and gulf coast beaches within a 40-mile radius. The climate features mild winters with average lows of 45°F and hot summers reaching daily highs above 90°F from June through September. The terrain consists primarily of coastal plains with elevations under 100 feet above sea level, creating minimal hiking challenges but potentially standing water during rainy periods.

    What to do

Disc golf courses: Brackenridge Park & Campground features multiple disc golf courses throughout the property. "Lots of activities: frisbee golf (not golf), sand volleyball, miniature golf, softball, paintball, playground, hiking. Well maintained sites," notes Juliee B.

Fishing opportunities: Fish from shorelines or piers at multiple locations. "This was the perfect place to rest after a long 3 days of travel with a sick pooch. They have everything you would need and more. Disc golf, paint ball, hiking, bike trail, and of course fishing," shares Holly S. about Brackenridge Park & Campground.

Wildlife observation: Early morning and evening hours provide optimal wildlife viewing times. "Beautiful morning views of the lake and many deer in the field every night," reports Nancy V., adding that security regularly patrols the campgrounds for added safety.

    What campers like

Beach camping access: Magnolia Beach offers free beachfront camping with minimal restrictions. "You camp right next to the water and can listen to the (gentle) waves all day and night. The beach is really level. There are garbage cans, showers, and pavilions with bbqs," writes Elisha L.

Waterfront RV sites: Texana Park & Campground provides lake-view RV camping with spacious sites. "Sites are very spacious, each has its own picnic table on a concrete pad. Lots of privacy, most sites are separated by 15' widths of trees and shrubs which act as a privacy wall," explains Juliee B.

Security features: Gated access systems and regular patrols enhance camper safety. "24/7 security. Gated access to camp areas. 4 clean bathroom/bathhouse. Putt putt golf. Great fishing lake access," reports Austin and Christel S., though they note rumors of alligators prevent swimming in lake areas.

    What you should know

Wildlife precautions: Alligators inhabit several water bodies in the area. "Alligators in lake! 2 bars AT&T. No Park WiFi," reports Napunani about KOA Port Lavaca Matagorda Bay, highlighting the need for caution around water.

Beach composition: Shell fragments rather than sand characterize many beach areas. "No sand, only rocks. One set of bathrooms was very dirty and the other set were locked. All the best area say no camping," warns one reviewer about Magnolia Beach.

Summer heat considerations: Limited shade at RV sites can make summer camping challenging. "Very few shade trees at sites, most RVs are in complete sun, but very nice grounds," notes Juliee B. about Brackenridge Park & Campground.

    Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly water features: El Campo Lost Lagoon offers extensive water recreation. "Pool has a smaller kids area with tons to do and play with and a bigger pool with rock slides, rope swing, swim up bar, lazy river, and plenty of area for people to just lay out," reports Garrison H.

Wildlife viewing opportunities: Schedule early morning activities to maximize wildlife encounters. "We've been here three days and have seen 4 armadillos, 5 squirrels, 7 deer and 1 raccoon," shares a camper about their experience at Texana Park & Campground.

Playground access: Multiple campgrounds feature dedicated play areas. "Lots of space for the kids to play and bike, water access, shade, and clean bathrooms. Nice trails!" notes Holly C. about Brackenridge Park & Campground.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection considerations: Victoria City RV Park offers economical full hookups with good spacing. "Clean, cheap, easy access... This place is very basic, not much of a view. It's clean and well kept by the city. No reservations. You pull in and there is a dropbox with envelopes where you can pay your fee which is $12 per day," explains Drexel M.

Dump station access: Plan waste management accordingly as not all locations offer dump stations. "If you just need to use a dump facility, then the fee is $2," notes Drexel M. about Victoria City RV Park.

Pet friendly camping options: Most campgrounds in the Edna area welcome pets with standard leash requirements. "We stayed here through January & February of 2022. Its a large park with tons of trails and the amenities from Breckenridge across the street are included," shares EMRY H. about their extended stay at Texana Park & Campground with pets.
