It hits all of the marks: mass transit at your doorstep; pool, laundry, showers and a gift shop at the entrance; easy pull-through, level sites; picnic tables at each site; quaint southwestern style! This is a nice park for the overnight or the long stay, and it has easy access to major highways.
TravelerThe park it’s self is nice and clean. Staff for the most part is friendly and nice. The pool is a hopping place over summer break and on the weekends when it’s warm. RV sites are tight in the daily/weekly sites and parking your 40+ foot rig and tow vehicle in the spot are probably not happening. They do have over flow parking and depending on your site it could be a good walk.
They are pet friendly and have several dog parks and potty areas through out the park. The laundry room is like no other I’ve ever been too. All machines operate via debit/credit cards, no more quarters!!
Over all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this park for monthly stays or in one of their top tier sites for daily/weekly stays.

LegendThis campground(CG)/RV resort has exceptional customer service. We were on a waitlist to add another day to our reservation. They proactively called us back about a month later to let us know they could accommodate another night’s stay. We followed the website instructions to come in so we could take a right turn into the RV Resort, which is a 1/4 mile from the golf course entrance. A very short rig could take a left turn. The gate was down so we called the number listed on the gate and we were let in for a very pleasant check-in. We were assigned pull-through site 406 with FHUs. There’s a slope off the front of the site, so I needed to center the rig on the level part of the cement pad. By doing this I needed 20’ of sewer hose to get from my rear black tank to the sewer. The CG was quiet with no kids running around as this is a 55+ CG. The guest internet was below average for a park this size, but we have Starlink. We got 3 bars on Verizon. Most of the campers here were seasonal with license plates from CO, MN, and WI. Several of the campers we talked to didn’t golf and came here to get away from cold weather. We did not see any overnighters during our four-day stay but this CG is fairly far from the San Antonio area interstates. CG was well-kept with no junky sites. They have a laundry room, but a couple of machines were not working. The sites were decently spaced and very long. Many reviewers called the sites spacious. The sites were not as far apart or as large when compared to many of the State Parks or Corps of Engineers CGs we’ve stayed. Get pizza from Luigi's Italian Restaurant in nearby Castroville as it’s in the top 5 pizzas we’ve had as we traveled through all lower 48 states. We enjoyed our stay, including playing their challenging golf course, and would definitely return.

The Park: they have a large pool area with cafe and snacks. The property is large and spaces are spread out through out the park. The big draw is the Guadalupe River, Canyon Lake, and the woods and hills.
They have hot shoes, bath houses, laundry.
The sites: Gravel and mostly level, very few sites were unlevel. You’re surrounded by hills so it is nice and quiet. They are full hook up sites. Each site had a fire ring and picnic table. Small deer herds would move through the park each evening. Many of the campers feed them corn and they know the sounds and come running out of the hills.
The campground is near grocery and hardware stores. Within an hour are several bigger towns with more stores.
Cellular: T-Mobile was decent but not great. They do have Campground WiFi that worked faster.
Scout2nd Xing is a nice family owned and operated campground located on the Guadeloupe with beautiful river access for kayaking, tubing and just relaxing. They do not have facilities but they do have a shop with all the amenities ie: firewood, beverages, toiletries and food items. Sites include 30/50 amp electric, water and sewer, fenced dog park, fire pit, picnic table and even has string lights. You can even rent campers set up that the camp and some guests offer.
ScoutI recently had the pleasure of staying at Castroville Regional Park, and it was an amazing experience! The park is beautiful and well-maintained, offering a peaceful and scenic environment. The campsites are spacious, and I loved how they’re equipped with picnic tables, fire pits, and plenty of space for tents or RVs. The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The nearby Medina River was perfect for a relaxing afternoon, and there are plenty of hiking and biking trails to explore. I also appreciated the clean restrooms and showers, which made the experience much more convenient. Overall, Castroville Regional Park is a great choice for a family-friendly getaway or a peaceful retreat into nature. I’ll definitely be coming back!

TravelerGood location along I35. Park has asphalt streets, but gravel sites. Mix of pull through & back in sites. Some sites have a small picnic shelter on a concrete pad. Full hookups with all utilities working as expected. Friendly, attentive staff. Nice, clean laundry room with new machines. Wifi is unsecured & so slow it’s useless. Phone reception is also poor. Located next to a horse lot with several horses so the odor is strong. (Our site was very close to horse stable). Park sits next to heavily used railroad tracks, frequent train whistles at all hours. There are many full timers, some units in need of upkeep with junk piled around campers. There was quite a bit of litter discarded along the creek that runs through the park (which was dry during our visit January 2021).

We are new to RV living & this was a perfect place to try out our new travel trailer. I think site 19 was a great place to be, because nobody was on one side of us & it was right across from the pool & camp store. We will definitely return to this resort in the summertime.
