      Mission City RV Park

      Cream of the Crop

You don't get a much nicer RV park than this in a major city. It hits all of the marks: mass transit at your doorstep; pool, laundry, showers and a gift shop at the entrance; easy pull-through, level sites; picnic tables at each site; quaint southwestern style! This is a nice park for the overnight or the long stay, and it has easy access to major highways.

Hill Country RV Resort & Cottage Rentals

Nice Park with little room between sites

The park it’s self is nice and clean.  Staff for the most part is friendly and nice.  The pool is a hopping place over summer break and on the weekends when it’s warm.  RV sites are tight in the daily/weekly sites and parking your 40+ foot rig and tow vehicle in the spot are probably not happening.  They do have over flow parking and depending on your site it could be a good walk.

They are pet friendly and have several dog parks and potty areas through out the park.  The laundry room is like no other I’ve ever been too.  All machines operate via debit/credit cards, no more quarters!!

Over all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this park for monthly stays or in one of their top tier sites for daily/weekly stays.

      Alsatian RV Resort

      Exceptional Customer Service

This campground(CG)/RV resort has exceptional customer service. We were on a waitlist to add another day to our reservation. They proactively called us back about a month later to let us know they could accommodate another night’s stay. We followed the website instructions to come in so we could take a right turn into the RV Resort, which is a 1/4 mile from the golf course entrance. A very short rig could take a left turn. The gate was down so we called the number listed on the gate and we were let in for a very pleasant check-in. We were assigned pull-through site 406 with FHUs. There’s a slope off the front of the site, so I needed to center the rig on the level part of the cement pad. By doing this I needed 20’ of sewer hose to get from my rear black tank to the sewer. The CG was quiet with no kids running around as this is a 55+ CG. The guest internet was below average for a park this size, but we have Starlink. We got 3 bars on Verizon. Most of the campers here were seasonal with license plates from CO, MN, and WI. Several of the campers we talked to didn’t golf and came here to get away from cold weather. We did not see any overnighters during our four-day stay but this CG is fairly far from the San Antonio area interstates. CG was well-kept with no junky sites. They have a laundry room, but a couple of machines were not working. The sites were decently spaced and very long. Many reviewers called the sites spacious. The sites were not as far apart or as large when compared to many of the State Parks or Corps of Engineers CGs we’ve stayed. Get pizza from Luigi's Italian Restaurant in nearby Castroville as it’s in the top 5 pizzas we’ve had as we traveled through all lower 48 states. We enjoyed our stay, including playing their challenging golf course, and would definitely return.

      Summit Vacation Resort

      Texas Camping at its finest

We loved the quiet and peace of this RV Resort nestled in Texas Hill Country.

The Park: they have a large pool area with cafe and snacks. The property is large and spaces are spread out through out the park. The big draw is the Guadalupe River, Canyon Lake, and the woods and hills.

They have hot shoes, bath houses, laundry.

The sites: Gravel and mostly level, very few sites were unlevel. You’re surrounded by hills so it is nice and quiet. They are full hook up sites. Each site had a fire ring and picnic table. Small deer herds would move through the park each evening. Many of the campers feed them corn and they know the sounds and come running out of the hills.

The campground is near grocery and hardware stores. Within an hour are several bigger towns with more stores.

Cellular: T-Mobile was decent but not great. They do have Campground WiFi that worked faster.

Canyon Lake Military - Randolph AFB

We love it here. Not for everyone.

We started with day passes, then graduated to renting out the loft cabins, then tried tent camping, and eventually and recently parked our travel trailer in the reservable RV spaces. All in the same vicinity. Made great memories at each stay.

Pro’s: Best rate in town for military (active, retired, $ disabled). Water is beautiful. Fishing can be fantastic. Lots of water activities available for rent or bring your own. Pet friendly, Great for families, most people are very respectful and wonderful to talk to. Good food and stores nearby. Lots of wildlife. Quiet. Close to town and short drive from San Antonio.

Cons: Hard to get ahold of staff to make reservations. Market is extremely expensive and staff isn’t very friendly. Lost and lots of fire ants.

We recommend it to all of our friends and family and bring them often. We love staying in the loft cabins. Some are pet friendly. We have stayed in the mobile homes on the other side of the lake once but that was not a great experience as our things were stolen off our table and covered patio (on Veterans Day) and they were only left unattended for 15 min or less. The mobile home wasn’t very nice but functional at least.

      Sienna Ridge RV Park

Great quiet park for those not looking for a lot of extra amenities

Quiet clean park with great, friendly staff.  $17 a day is based on $525 monthly rate. Common bath house and laundry is always clean and ready to use. No amenities such as pool or hot tub or overhead RV shades. Wide, mostly level, gravel pull thru and back in sites. Sites up on the hill get a nice breeze and feel secluded. Many are monthly residents but all RVs and spots are kept clean and friendly! Close to the lake, local rivers and 20min drive to New Braunfels. Sitting right in hill country gives amazing views and drives in all directions.

      Castroville Regional Park

      Great

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Castroville Regional Park, and it was an amazing experience! The park is beautiful and well-maintained, offering a peaceful and scenic environment. The campsites are spacious, and I loved how they’re equipped with picnic tables, fire pits, and plenty of space for tents or RVs. The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The nearby Medina River was perfect for a relaxing afternoon, and there are plenty of hiking and biking trails to explore. I also appreciated the clean restrooms and showers, which made the experience much more convenient. Overall, Castroville Regional Park is a great choice for a family-friendly getaway or a peaceful retreat into nature. I’ll definitely be coming back!

    Guide to Schertz

RV camping near Schertz, Texas ranges from basic to luxury accommodations with varying amenities and accessibility features. Located within Guadalupe County at 723 feet elevation, this region experiences hot summers with temperatures often exceeding 95°F and mild winters. Most campgrounds remain open year-round with peak season extending from March through October when water recreation on nearby rivers becomes popular.

    What to do

River recreation access: At Rio Guadalupe Resort & RV Park, visitors can enjoy the Guadalupe River. "The water was slow moving so we paddle boarded upstream about a mile. We had the river almost to ourselves in mid September," notes one camper. The resort offers tube, raft, and kayak rentals with shuttle service.

Local attractions: Within 30 minutes of Mission City RV Park, campers can visit San Antonio's cultural sites. "Located only a short 10 minute drive away from the famous Riverwalk or popular restaurants and breweries at the historic pearl," writes a reviewer. Public transportation is accessible directly from some parks.

Recreation amenities: Many parks offer on-site activities beyond typical campground amenities. At Summit Vacation Resort, "there's lots of things for the kids to do like swimming, miniature golf, basketball, tennis, etc." The resort also features river access, though one camper notes "it was hard to tote all of our stuff down to the river and back up."

    What campers like

Comprehensive facilities: Travelers World RV Resort offers amenities valued by long-term visitors. "The pool is refreshing, the laundry facilities are top notch and the bath houses were perfect," reports one camper. Another notes: "Laundry, a dog park, free WiFi, large paved roads and well spaced sites. Showers were in great shape and staff were incredibly friendly."

Wildlife viewing opportunities: Several parks feature natural wildlife encounters. At Summit Vacation Resort, "small deer herds would move through the park each evening. Many of the campers feed them corn and they know the sounds and come running out of the hills."

Pet accommodations: Dog-friendly areas are available at numerous locations. "Good sized shady fenced in dog park in the back with a picnic table," reports a visitor about Summit Vacation Resort. Travelers World RV Resort also includes a dedicated dog area, though leash requirements vary by park.

    What you should know

Security considerations: Security varies significantly between parks. While some locations like Mission City RV Park are gated communities, others have limited security measures. At Travelers World, one camper warns: "This park is in a bad part of town... On our fourth night here my husband's bike was stolen. We had two locks on the bikes. A cable lock and a kryptonite lock and both were cut."

Seasonal weather impacts: Summer heat requires planning when RV camping in the Schertz area. Temperatures regularly exceed 95°F from June through September, making shade sites and swimming access valuable. During summer, Fort Sam Houston Army RV offers some tree cover. One visitor notes: "Trees between spots help to quell some of the very hot San Antonio heat."

Noise considerations: Environmental noise affects several campgrounds. Railroad tracks run near multiple parks, causing disruptions. At Landa RV Park & Campground, "train tracks run right past park so be prepared for train noise at all hours." Some parks also experience traffic noise from nearby highways.

    Tips for camping with families

Pool availability: Canopy Luxury RV Resort offers excellent aquatic facilities for families. "The pool and shower facilities are very nice and clean," reports one camper. Summit Vacation Resort features multiple pools, though one visitor suggests "they would make one of the three pools adult only."

Kid-friendly activities: Beyond swimming, several parks provide structured entertainment options. Stone Creek RV Park includes "a jacuzzi and swimming pool. Very nice large and small dog parks." Rio Guadalupe Resort features a "nice clean big pool" and river access for tubing.

Safety considerations: Terrain and access points require parental supervision at river locations. At Summit Vacation Resort, one camper mentions "river access is down a series of steps. Water is beautifully shallow and slow moving," making it manageable for children with proper oversight.

    Tips from RVers

Leveling requirements: Site conditions vary significantly between parks. "Make sure you have blocks for leveling just in case," advises a camper at Mission City RV Park. The park has "gravel sites with a picnic table. Some sites have cement pads."

Internet connectivity: WiFi reliability fluctuates between locations. At Mission City, one reviewer notes "the wifi is not powerful enough to stream." Some campers recommend having backup mobile hotspot options as cellular service also varies throughout the area.

Water pressure variations: Some parks have unusual water system characteristics. At Travelers World, visitors are warned about "high water pressure; you'll need a pressure regulator. They sell them at the office!" This helps prevent damage to RV plumbing systems.
