River Road RV Park & Horse Camp in Chapel Hill provides full hookup sites with water, electric, and sewer connections. The gravel sites are level and spacious, accommodating both pull-through and back-in RVs. Nearby, Campers RV Park in Columbia features big-rig friendly sites with 50-amp service, water hookups, and sewer connections on gravel pads. Four Corners RV Resort in Antioch offers concrete pads with full hookups and waterfront sites for larger motorhomes and fifth wheels. Piney River Resort in Bon Aqua maintains 114 RV sites with 30/50-amp service on level terrain suitable for extended stays. "The sites were level and clean, with both pull-through and back-in options. Full hookups were available, and there's a small laundry area with a shower and bathroom."

Most RV parks in the region remain open year-round, though reservations are recommended during peak travel seasons. Cell service varies significantly between locations, with one visitor noting "no service for TMobile and almost none for Verizon" at River Road RV Park. Several parks offer propane filling stations on-site, including Grand Ole RV Resort & Market in Goodlettsville. Access roads to some parks may present challenges for larger rigs, particularly those located away from major highways. A review for Piney River Resort cautioned about "an 8 mile hilly and windy road that turned into dirt halfway through with lots of potholes, quick turns, and skinny roadways." Dump stations are available at most parks, though placement and height of sewer connections can vary considerably between locations.

      Nashville Shores

      Great Off Season Stay

We followed RV Life Trip Wizard GPS and Waze off I-40 to Nashville Shores RV Resort without any issues. Check-in was quick, easy, and informative, and we headed to back-in site 7 with full hookups (FHUs). The concrete pad was level, with the water hookup located at the very back of the site. Water pressure was good at around 60 psi but dropped somewhat as the campground (CG) filled up over the weekend. We had 3 bars on both Verizon and T-Mobile, with T-Mobile providing a respectable 108 Mbps download. We used our T-Mobile Home Internet, which delivered 126 Mbps, rather than Starlink. Although there were trees along the CG's perimeter, most sites appeared to have a reasonably clear view of the sky for satellite internet. Site spacing was okay, although neighboring RVs were still fairly close. Several sites were located along the lake, with a few appearing long enough to accommodate larger rigs. We suggest calling the office for details on reserving one of those waterfront sites. One of our favorite amenities was the large fenced dog run, with plenty of room to throw a ball and let our pup burn off some energy. We also appreciated having two fire pits at our site. One was behind our rig, providing a nice spot away from the CG road, while the other was near the front, next to a small concrete patio with a picnic table. Although the CG filled up during our mid-October weekend stay, the adjacent water park had closed for the season on October 1. Without the water park crowds and activity, we found Nashville Shores to be a very enjoyable place to stay."

Meriwether Lewis Campground, Milepost 385.9 — Natchez Trace Parkway

      Nice!

I liked this NPS free campground on the Natchez Trace.  It is convenient to the Nashville Area and accessible by other nice highways, not just the Trace.  The town of Hohenwald is just a couple of miles away.

There were many camping people on a Friday night in October from strictly tenters to fancy busses and everything in between (motorcycles, truck campers, suv campers, car campers etc).  Everyone was respectful of others and quiet at night.

The grounds have lots of mature trees and  the pads are in pretty good condition and fairly level.  There are pull-throughs and back-ins.  There is a central restroom, which I did not use.

      Wiseman Park

      Self serve campsite

Sides are clean and well spaced. The review said before that it was $20 a night. It’s now $30 a night for 20 amp service and I believe 44 for 30 or 50 amp service.

Fairview Campground — Tims Ford State Park

      Fantastic

What a beautiful area to camp. We tent camped in a 12 person tent and had plenty of space on the grass to put the tent up. The other spots are more for RVs. The view is incredible! You can fish right on most of the sites including 41. We have 3 teenagers and they all have asked to come back to camp on this site. Plenty of privacy. We did have a bunch of kids that came through our site to visit the water which I was not a fan of but other than that it's truly a fantastic site. This place is wonderful! Oh, and our tmobile was spotty but still worked!

      Nashville KOA Resort

Great RV Resort and Perfect for Visiting Nashville

We had such a nice stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt comfortable and welcomed. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and the whole campground had a really nice, relaxed feel to it.

Our site was spacious and easy to get into, and we really appreciated how clean and well cared for everything was. After spending the day exploring Nashville, it was nice to come back to the campground, slow down and just enjoy the evening.

The location worked out great for us too. We were close enough to enjoy everything Nashville has to offer, but when we came back to the RV, it felt like we could get away from all the activity and relax.

One of the things we enjoy about RV travel is finding places that you actually look forward to coming back to at the end of the day, and this was definitely one of those places. We made some great memories here and would absolutely stay again the next time we’re in Nashville!

      Rural Hill Farm

      Shake out

We came here for our shake out of our new trailer as it’s only about 20 min from home and we could still go to work. We will probably come back when we just want to “get out of the house” for a few days.

The place is beautiful and if you want to be in the middle of nowhere, this is it! The grounds are easily walkable with a lot of open spaces. Saw a lot of wildlife so come in slow so you don’t hit a deer.

Do NOT come in from South Mount Juliet road. The turn onto Couchville Pike is tight for cars, let alone pulling a camper. Come in off of I-840 and you will be fine.

We got decent wifi and I did a video call without lag. Full hookups (50amp)

No on site staff that we saw other than grounds crew.

Horrific Customer Service/Watch out for 14 Day Policy

I called today (a week and a half in advance) for a reservation that I had booked recently. Our driving plans changed and I wanted to cancel and receive a refund. I was informed they have a 14 day policy. Apparently it is their policy, nothing was emailed or texted to me or verbally given. However if I don’t “ask,” it is apparently my problem. Okay touché. And well I realize this may be their policy, 14 days is ridiculous. They offered me a “camp credit and it’s good for 1 year.” 🤣😮‍💨 I told her we live in Arizona. And she says “okay.” Not even effort for a partial refund. Beware of the terrible customer service. This is completely unprofessional.

    Guide to Chapel Hill

RV camping near Chapel Hill, Tennessee provides convenient access to central Tennessee's rolling hills and waterways. Sites in this region sit at elevations between 650-850 feet in an area where the Duck River winds through limestone countryside. Most campgrounds remain open year-round with peak occupancy during April through October when daytime temperatures range from 70-90°F.

    What to do

Kayaking and fishing on Duck River: River Road RV Park & Horse Camp sits just 5 minutes from Duck River access points. "Duck River is just 5 minutes away, and Henry Horton State Park is close by—great for fishing, hiking, or kayaking," notes Christie B.

Amish community tours: Heritage Campground and RV Park in nearby Ethridge serves as a base for exploring local Amish farms. "We visited some amish farms close by and found all kinds of stuff! Their candy is so good!!!" shares Donald S., who enjoyed watching "amish buggies drive by" during his stay.

Swimming and cliff jumping: Piney River Resort offers direct river access for cooling off. "The water is crystal clear and cold. We sat in beach chairs and let the current wash over us. The swimming hole was great! We loved watching the younger crowd jump off the cliff into the water," writes Elizabeth S.

    What campers like

Well-maintained concrete pads: Four Corners RV Resort offers level sites with full hookups near Percy Priest Lake. "The resort grounds are new with level concrete pads... Excellent WIFI connectivity pretty much everywhere," notes Josh K., who stayed on the East Loop.

Campground activities: Campers RV Park features organized recreation options for guests. "Activities everywhere! There are pavilions and out buildings setup with games, hammocks, and all kinds of fun family-friendly things to see and do," reports Tyler F.

Peaceful waterfront sites: Many campers appreciate riverside camping options. "We chose a site along the beautiful Piney River with full hook-ups, level cement pad, pavilion with lights and ceiling fan, kind neighbors and the wonderful sounds of silence," shares Tony D. about his experience at Piney River Resort.

    What you should know

Cell service limitations: Coverage varies significantly between campgrounds. At River Road RV Park, one camper reported: "No service for TMobile and almost none for Verizon (was told at&t works, but I can't verify)." Plan accordingly if remote work is necessary.

Road access challenges: Some campgrounds require navigating narrow country roads. "The drive in from the highway was very scary on narrow, windy roads with dropoffs on the side. We took the staff recommended route in and Co-Pilot's route out and both were scary in our Class A towing a car hauler," cautions Pat&Amanda D.

Weather and insects: Lakefront properties can have seasonal pest issues. At Four Corners RV Resort, Chris L. warns: "MOSQUITOS! The first and last night we stayed the mosquitos were so bad we couldn't be outside. There were two nights in between that it was tolerable."

    Tips for camping with families

Entertainment options: Several campgrounds offer kid-friendly amenities. Jessica L. describes Campers RV Park: "There is a playground, hammock hut, and game area for the kids to stay entertained."

Swimming areas: Water access varies by location. At Piney River Resort, Elizabeth S. appreciated that "the water is crystal clear and cold" with "the swimming hole" offering enjoyable recreation.

Resort facilities: Some properties offer expanded amenities. Nashville RV and Cabins Resort provides "large sites with awesome pool and play areas for kiddos," according to Steven F.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection considerations: For Grand Ole RV Resort & Market, Jen O. advises: "We stayed for 2 weeks over Christmas/New Year's and shared a buddy site with my dad... We have a 40' motorhome and flat tow a Jeep and he has a 5th Wheel and had 2 vehicles there. We all still had plenty of space."

Utilities and hookups: Most parks offer complete services but with variations. Bill P. notes that Campers RV Park provides "Good pull thru sites with full hook ups. 50/30 amp power, water and sewer. Good recreation areas. Good dog walks. Good Wi-Fi."

Noise factors: Some campgrounds have ambient noise to consider. Jeff P. reports: "Only downfall are the trains that operate 24/7 directly adjacent to the grounds. Trains rolling by at 3 am is not how I like to spend my night."
