Beautiful State Park

The main campground is very nice. There are a lot of shaded, private spots, but some of the sites are a little close together. Some of them aren’t very level, so just keep that in mind!

The bathrooms are very clean, bright and heated in the winter. One of the bath houses has separate showers that are completely private.

There are many traditional hiking trails throughout the park, but there’s also paved paths circling around the campground as well.

The gift shop and visitors center was large and had a lot of useful things for sale, as well as kids toys and books. Our daughter really enjoyed it. The playgrounds are also very well maintained.

Tims Ford Main Campground

We stayed the final weekend open for the season and it was a fantastic stay. There are paved paths for miles right there off the campsites. There are other trails as well not paved with but more tugged/traditional trails with bridges and cottonmouths lol be careful. The sites are close enough to the water for bank fishing. The bathrooms were great too. Clean when we arrived and convenient to our site #44, we were right across from them. These were a private bathroom shower situation in each door. The other shower house had men and women bathrooms and private showers separately. We visited the gift shop and information center, the people working there are helpful and friendly. I definitely recommend. We stayed just in time before the temps dropped from 80 degrees one day the day we left dropped to 45 during the day.

Beautiful

We stayed at the main campground it was so pretty, lots of trees, quiet, good walking trails. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star was the bathrooms, they never got cleaned all weekend, no toilet paper, the same clogged toilets all weekend, but even with that we will go back.

Great place!

We stayed here on the 4th of July weekend 2020. We live an hour away and spend a lot of time on the lake during the year. We’ve wanted to take the camper down for some time now and we’re glad we did. Great place and nice folks just as we imagined it would be. Camp sites were pretty fair and they have a decent dump station. We had site 37 right by the water access and we really enjoyed it. We will be back!

Great place!

We stayed at the main campground at Tim’s Ford State Park over the 4th of July weekend. The place was packed but it was a great experience. Everyone was nice and friendly, campers and employees.

The best thing about this spot is the lake access for swimming. We stayed at site 37 and the walking trail down to the lake was right next to our site. The trail leads to a great swimming or fishing spot. We will definitely be back!

There’s also a small marina at the state park where you can rent pontoon boats, kayaks, and paddle boards. It’s just a short drive from the main campground.

If you’re into eating out some when you came there’s also two great restaurants near by. The Hard dock Cafe at Tim’s Ford marina and the Blue Gill Grill at Holiday landing both have great food.

Relax

I love this campground and at least stay a weekend every time I’m in TN. I love how close to the city it is and the warm water.

Tim’s Ford

Has some nice sites. Very well shaded. 30 amp only. The park has great hiking trails. Restrooms were clean. Good fishing areas. There are dogs kept inside a fence at the park. Suppose this is at Rangers house. They bark a lot. Very annoying. Never seen this at a state park. Tennessee needs to update this park.

Quiet Park

Got a great site back up to the lake with full hookup. Only advice I have is make sure which campground you are in.They have two one at the main entrance another one is around 4 miles from that main entrance,

One of the nicest state parks in TN

This is a place that I grew up camping with my family, and spent countless days on our pontoon boat or kayaks on Tim's Ford Lake. It's a lovely, quiet campground with a great nature center, hiking trails, playgrounds, a pool, and lake access for boating and swimming.

Lovely watery wonderland

This is a nice park on a big classic TN lake. You absolutely need to have a boat or kayak of some kind to enjoy the park fully. There are some nice easy hiking trails too, plus golf.

Yay: great hot showers! Lovely trees in the campground but privacy not exceptional. Playground also. They have cabins and a big swimming pool. Great for a group with mixed interests, but not an insanely huge park.

Nay: some of the boaters were pretty obnoxious making too many wakes. The campground itself

Surprise: they have a cutesy holiday celebration every year.

Relaxing

The cabins were very homie and clean with great amenities. There were plenty of things to do in the nearby area such as: golfing, swimming, fishing and hiking. Hopefully I will be back soon.
