We stayed here while road-tripping on our honeymoon in September. This campground maybe had 5 other campers here while we were here and it was AMAZING. We loved how empty it was. Our camper also backed up to the field behind the campground which was really nice. We got great views while laying in bed and even awoke to some deer looking at us!
I made reservations for 3 nights at Big Pine. At arrival the owner was very nice and gave me info for the area and set me up with maps of campgrounds and local attractions. Firewood was 4 dollars for a bundle was an ok size but burns fast due to smaller cut pieces. It is delivered right to your camp site by owner, that was nice. I stayed at a non electric tent site. Wasn’t very happy with the site I got because a lot to most of the site was rocks. Couldn’t find a good soft place for the tent. And the site was on a hard angle found myself waking up against the tent wall or pushed downward on my air mattress, (tried different options)
Because it is located in the pines you can see all your neighbors and privacy isn’t an option.
On a positive note the showers and bathrooms are very clean and had a sink outside for washing dishes with hot water at no additional cost. Also took advantage of a locker system they had for charging your devices. You can lock up your stuff take the key and when you return your devices are charged. Also no charge for this option and I thought that was a nice feature.
There was areas for games like horseshoes and a playground for the kids.
Water stations to fill jugs and we also had a fire pit and picnic table at our site that was nice. Trash cans are located between every couple sites. Grounds are clean and very quiet at night. Quite time is between 8am and 10pm. WiFi was available but my cell service was just fine so I didn’t use it.
Over all it wasn’t bad just wish I had a better site then what I got and more privacy.
