Excellent KOA

This KOA is set in beautiful surroundings. Sites are amongst trees, easy in/out. I arrived in the middle of a downpour, but that did not deter the hosts from showing me the site. Restrooms were clean, very nice area for dogs.

Great place to stay a few days

This campground has just about every thing you might need. It is well maintained. The staff is very gracious. Cafe makes great breakfast.

Last year they removed one campsite between every other site leaving very spacious sites with vehicle parking.

This campground is a short distance from Custer which has an Ace Hardware, grocery stores and friendly citizens. Crazy Horse and Mt Rushmore are 30 minutes away.

Great KOA

Friendliest people ever! Beautiful, wooded sites. Flat spacious sites. Bathrooms at the back of the park were clean. Women’s shower was fine: one regular & one handicapped accessible. Hubby said men’s lacked hooks to keep clothes dry.

Great location, close to Mt Rushmore

We arrived late and were greeted by staff as we pulled up. Site was clean and level.  Bathrooms and showers were clean as well. I'd stay here again.

Delux sites are perfect.

Stayed here 2 nights on our way home from Yellowstone so I could finally see Mt Rushmore.

KOA doesn’t disappoint, they could widen their left clearance when first coming into the parking lot from the highway.

Had a deluxe spot with a poured level pad/fire pit/grill/bench/table and chairs.

Just get the deluxe.

Internet was garbage, password never worked. Made it difficult to still remote work (unfortunately I had to on this trip)

Huge clearance otherwise, large turns.

Staff was super friendly and helpful! Even got me a partial refund for a booking SNAFU that wasn’t even the KOAs problem.

Short drive from literally everything.

We love KOA’s

This KOA is similar to many others, offering showers/toilets/laundry/etc. Super close to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and more! Custer SP is amazing and should be a stop to everyone who drives through SD. Friendly staff and clean facilities.

Quiet Beauty

We loved our stay here. It was quiet and peaceful. Would definitely drop by here again on our next cross country road trip.

KOA near Mount Rushmore, SD

This KOA campground was fantastic!  It was near the Mount Rushmore National Park in SD & it was easy to travel to the national park.  We stayed in a basic cabin & ate breakfast here before heading to Mount Rushmore NP (which I did not find all that exciting).

Because of the great experience here, we decided to stay at other KOA campgrounds on our way home (AZ to CT).

Photos forthcoming!

Well maintained

The only reason for a 4 is that it is not as near to Mt. Rushmore as others. The bathrooms and laundry was very nice and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Cabins are cozy.

Nice locatuon a little ways southwest of MR. It was cold and rainy, so we left the tent packed up and got a cabin. Cooked over the campfire and enjoyed the dry warmth. It made packing up to head out the next day super easy too. Bathrooms/showers were clean.

Fabulous

Quiet campground, amazing tent spots! Tent sites were grass and cozy along the back side of the campground, with firewood delivery we had everything we needed! Bathrooms seemed newly renovated and there were many shower stalls! This KOA was great and I wish we had stayed a few more nights because we were so close to everything!
