Cabin accommodations near Myrtle Beach provide comfort while maintaining a camping atmosphere. Several campgrounds offer cabins with varying levels of amenities, including Pirateland Family Camping Resort and Myrtle Beach KOA. Most cabins feature air conditioning, heat, bunk beds, and basic furnishings. Little Pee Dee State Park offers "a cute structure with air conditioning/heat, bunk beds, and a free-standing bed (the cabin sleeps four, total). Guests can use a fire ring and Adirondack chairs, hammock, and grill," according to one visitor.

Rustic and deluxe cabin options exist throughout the region's campgrounds. Myrtle Beach KOA provides basic rustic cabins as well as deluxe models with more amenities. The KOA cabins can be in high demand, especially during summer months, with one reviewer noting, "We just visited the Myrtle Beach KOA and stayed in one of their rustic camping cabins." Many parks allow pets in their cabins, though specific policies vary by location. Barefoot RV Resort, Ocean Lakes Family Campground, and Myrtle Beach Travel Park all maintain cabin rental options with direct access to beaches or pools.

Visitors should prepare to bring bedding, towels, and personal items as most cabins provide only basic furniture and sleeping surfaces. Kitchen facilities vary significantly between properties, with some offering only outdoor cooking options while others include microwaves or small refrigerators. Huntington Beach State Park cabins provide access to shared bathhouses. Most campgrounds with cabins maintain on-site stores with limited supplies, though selection varies seasonally. For comprehensive grocery needs, stores are located within short driving distance of most cabin facilities. Firewood is generally available for purchase at campground offices.

Little Pee Dee State Park Campground

      BEDBUG INFESTED CABIN

***BEDBUGS BEDBUGS BEDBUGS!!!! Went to bed at 10:30pm, woke up with my arms and shoulders burning from being bit an hour later. We checked the mattress when we arrived at 8:00 and didn’t see anything. They are CLIMBING OUT OF THE WALLS. We called and spoke to the park ranger on site after leaving 2 voicemails already with no call back, she acted and responded with no concern or with no intent to have the problem corrected before the next family comes in to stay. As far as bringing your camper, little pee Dee is amazing. We rented the cabin on site for 9/18/26-9/20/26. We brought our own linens, brand new in the package. Completely useless now. With all of our clothing and towels also.

      Myrtle Beach KOA

      Hidden gem

Super cheap hidden gem for tent campers in Myrtle beach area! The pool is amazing. Campground is huge, no neighbors but still friendly faces around. Staff is very helpful and welcome. Quick 5 minute walk to the beach. They also rent golf carts for getting around town!

      Myrtle Beach State Park Campground

      Quiet

It was quiet and plenty shaded with all the trees. A little stagnant with not a lot of breeze, though. The roads are also pretty narrow and they could cut back some of the trees to make it easier to back in the campers. It's tight in some spots!

      Myrtle Beach KOA

      Disappointed

We stayed 5 nights in a two room camping cabin with our two dachshunds. This campground has been around for a long time and it shows. They do an excellent job at keeping the campground neat and clean, but some of the little things are falling apart and they haven’t made any updates in a while. This koa offers a free service - a shuttle down to the beach. At the time we visited there, the city was dredging the beach and had the public access that the koa drops people off at blocked off. Instead of dropping off at the access that was open, they took you to the one that was blocked off and made you walk to the next public access which was several blocks away. We were disappointed in this since we’re older. Myrtle Beach koa has been a favorite campground of ours and we’ve stayed there many times, but each time we go, we feel like there’s no attention to detail and things are starting to get run down.

      Myrtle Beach State Park Campground

      Myrtle Beach State Park

Really great campground Convenient to Surfside beach and Myrtle Beach. Beware of the airport though. That’s why I don’t give it 5*. The first planes fly out around 6-630am. It’s fun to watch but really loud consistently all day. The park is so nice and convenient that the planes are worth it. Just beware the sites in the 200/300 range are far more private

      Apache Family Campground

      A Family Tradition

I’ve been coming to this campground since I was about 5. My grandparents camped here, my parents now own a permanent place here, and we just purchased a camper to vacation here. It’s a wonderful community feel! There’s activities for all ages and the grounds are well kept.

      Nice Campground near the beach

Well maintained, clean, relatively few full-timers. Perfect for a long weekend or week near enough to the beach

    Guide to Myrtle Beach

Cabin camping near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina offers oceanfront and inland options within a short drive of beaches and attractions. Most coastal cabin rentals sit within large family campgrounds that can accommodate over 30,000 guests daily during peak season. Winter cabin rental rates typically drop by 30-50% while still providing access to heated facilities at many larger resorts.

    What to do

Beach activities year-round: Pirateland Family Camping Resort cabins place guests within walking distance of the Atlantic. "We had a great spot; right on the beach. The park was huge, seemed like a thousand spaces. Would be very overwhelming in the summer time," notes reviewer Alana F., highlighting the direct beach access available from many cabins.

Water parks without leaving camp: Ocean Lakes Family Campground maintains extensive water facilities for cabin guests. "The water park/pool was awesome. My husband and I floated in the giant lazy river as our kids used the water slides and splash area," explains Samantha O., detailing the multiple water options available within the property boundaries.

Historic exploration nearby: Huntington Beach State Park cabins serve as a base for touring Atalaya Castle. "Great beach. Castle to explore on site. Beautiful scenery. Great bike trails," mentions Adriane P., pointing out the cultural attractions accessible from park cabins.

    What campers like

Private pier access: Apache Family Campground cabins include complimentary pier passes. "They have a large pier for fishing located in the campground and if you are staying there they will provide tickets so you can use the pier," explains Gary G., noting the value-added amenity for fishing enthusiasts.

Golf cart transportation: Many cabin properties allow or rent golf carts to transport guests around expansive grounds. "Rent a golf cart and ride around. Make sure to decorate it because there is a cart parade every night from 9-11," suggests Blake K. from Pirateland, describing the evening social activities centered around decorated carts.

Evening entertainment: Myrtle Beach Travel Park schedules regular cabin guest activities. "Excellent pool and lazy river, arcade, games, pool activities, Fun Entertainment such as Karaoke, bands, DJ parties," reports Wendy M., detailing the structured evening options available after beach time.

    What you should know

Reservation timing: Peak season cabin availability becomes extremely limited 6-8 months in advance. "We stayed for a week and it was a lot of fun. Rent a golf cart and ride around," advises Blake K., suggesting planning both accommodations and add-ons well before arrival.

Cabin spacing considerations: Cabin proximity varies significantly between properties. "This is a massive campground! On average when school is out they have over 30,000 campers a day!!" explains Eric H. from Ocean Lakes Family Campground, emphasizing the high-density environment during summer months.

Noise levels and quiet hours: Most properties enforce strict quiet times. "Noise times are 7am-11pm. The good thing about this is at 11pm everything is quiet. No one is on the roads. All golf carts go away and people settle down for the night," notes Samantha O., specifying the regulated noise controls.

    Tips for camping with families

Prioritize concrete cabin pads: Sand management becomes easier with solid foundations. "The concrete pad was very nice to have because the sand was hard to keep up with. I couldn't imagine how much sand there would have been in the camper if we were on sand," explains Samantha O., providing practical advice about cabin selection.

Pool scheduling systems: Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach (formerly Carolina Pines) implements reservation systems for amenities. "This is a true resort. It has indoor pools, outdoor pools, waterslide, putt putt, bowling alley, and an arcade," reports Michele P., describing the structured activity planning needed for families.

Bathhouse proximity: Cabin locations relative to bathroom facilities affect convenience. "Bath houses are nice and clean, climate controlled bath houses, beautiful beach access!" notes Terri S., highlighting the importance of selecting cabins with nearby facilities.

    Tips from RVers

Off-season cabin value: Winter cabin stays offer significant savings. "We stayed at Carolina Pines 4 times with the last time being for a month. It was a wonderful experience with the staff providing activities, especially on the weekends," mentions Deb P., pointing out the extended-stay possibilities during lower-demand periods.

Security considerations: Barefoot RV Resort maintains controlled access to cabin areas. "It is a gated campground. The sites are spacious and concrete pad for trailer, tow vehicle and picnic tables. Fire pits are nice," explains Dee A., noting the security features protecting cabin guests and their vehicles.

Laundry facilities: Several properties offer cabin guests access to commercial washing machines. "The laundromat was clean. Didn't use the showers but they were nice too," reports Dee A., describing the practical amenities available to cabin guests during longer stays.
