Not all campsites have identical amenities. Read the campsite information on the reservations website to see photos of campsites; check availability and fees; find out whether a specific site is wheelchair accessible, has access to water, bathouses or pit toilets, or has electric hookup; and learn other important information. Tent, trailer and RV camping The park's family campground is located in a wooded area near Snow's Cut. There are 69 campsites with no hook-ups, including two wheelchair-accessible sites. Ten campsites have full hookups (water, electric and sewer), including one wheelchair-accessible site. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and grill or fire ring. Drinking water and restrooms with hot showers are located nearby. Camper cabins In addition to the 79 campsites, the park has four camper cabins located in the family campground. These camping cabins sleep six people in two rooms, one with a double bed and one with two sets of bunk beds. Each cabin has electrical outlets and a heating and air-conditioning unit. Outside each cabin, there is a picnic table, charcoal grill and a fire ring. Drinking water and restrooms with hot showers are located nearby. Group camping There are also two camping areas for organized groups located along Swamp Trail and are available by reservation only. Site #1 accommodates up to 26 people; site #2 accommodates up to 40 people. These areas include two picnic tables, grills/fire rings and pit toilets. Water and shower facilities are not available. This area is accessible only by foot and is located approximately 400 yards from the Flytrap Trail parking area. Reservations can be made by contacting the park marina office. With a marina providing access to some of North Carolina's best fishing spots, a secluded camping area beneath towering trees, and miles of hiking trails that traverse a variety of distinct habitats—not to mention the presence of the Venus flytrap, one of the world's most unique carnivorous plants—it's no wonder Carolina Beach State Park is a popular coastal attraction. Beach Camping NC is located in an area steeped in both history and natural diversity, the park includes a visitor's center with exhibits depicting the wonders of its environment.

Open YEAR ROUND Just a little history - - - The owner, Tommy Bradsher and some friends were on a fishing vacation in the Florida Keys and stayed at a campground. There he met a fellow Mason and Shriner who owned the campground. They had several conversations about how enjoyable it was to run a campground as well as the work involved. As a business owner and native of Brunswick County, he did research to see if it would be an advantage to invest in creating a new campground to attract more campers to the area. In 2003 based on his research, he and wife, Wanda, forged ahead with the idea of creating a family camping atmosphere. So welcome to the South Brunswick islands, your home away from home. Leave all your worries behind from the moment you enter this campground. Located well off the main road, relaxation is the theme of your vacation. Being a family owned business; we have family in mind. Visitors to the park can be found relaxing by the pool, fishing in the pond, or playing a family game of horseshoes, volleyball, or basketball. For those who do choose to venture out you won't need to travel far to reach one of 3 family beaches where you can build a sand castle, play in the gentle surf, or fish from one of the piers. The sport enthusiasts can spend their days on the Atlantic Ocean catching their spill of fish, or teeing off at one of 35 championship golf courses. At the end of the day treat yourself to fresh, local seafood at Calabash, the Seafood Capital of the World, or simply grill directly at your site. Located half-way between Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC gives you the advantage of a wide variety of activities. You can choose from live shows, outlet shopping, restaurants then come back to the campground to wind down and relax. Give us a try and you just may find your forever home away from home.

Singletary Lake State Park offers group camps available to nonprofit organizations. The camps provide a unique camping experience, creating the perfect setting in which to interpret natural surroundings and to unite in work and play. At least 20 people must be in the group, and the group must also be a part of a verifiable organization.

Camp Ipecac can accommodate up to 84 people. It is open from April 1 through October 31.

The camp includes 10 standard cabins (twin bunk beds for 8 people per cabin), and one cabin that is accessible to people with limited mobility or disabilities (twin bunk beds for 4 people total). It also includes an accessible mess hall and an accessible bathhouse with restrooms.

All amenities are provided for campers, except for food, cleaning supplies, and bed linens.

A basketball goal, a volleyball net, a horseshoe pit, a group-sized charcoal grill, and picnic tables are located near the cabins. A campfire circle in each camp offers the perfect setting for an evening of fellowship and marshmallow roasting.

The facilities were built by the Resettlement Administration. The camp was named for Carolina Ipecac, Euphorbia ipecacuanhae, a herb common in the region's sandy soil. Extract taken from the herb's dried roots is used for medicinal purposes.

So Awesome We're Staying Another Month

Pickleball! And there's the bar/lounge, swimming pool, gym, laundry but most of all, space. You're in the south, so friendly folks who give you all the time in the world is a given. Yes, southern hospitality is palpable here. We're just a few miles from the beach, walking distance to a restaurant and or convenience store; crawling distance to Dales Pub across the road. It's like a KOA here, without the big trikes, lake and boats- but there are a couple ponds where the turtles come and go. Highlights for us; 1.) The laundry will run off an app on your phone. 2.) The pool and patio is truly awesome; we hang there almost every afternoon(weather permitting). 3.) Did I mention pickleball?! Downsides? Well, there is the price, but that's relative. We're getting a$1200.00 monthly rate which makes it do-able. Sometimes, when the winds blow out of the east, every camper smells the sewage treatment plant across the back fence- Check Google maps satellite view. Truth be told, it is rare, only a few days out of the month. The large majority of the time we get the cool coastal breeze. We camped at Oceans RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

        Very Nice!

I’ll definitely be staying here again! Beautiful and very well maintained landscaping, clean facilities, very helpful and friendly staff. Really close to the beach, a good selection of restaurants as well as other points of interest. My only regret is that I didn’t have time to stay longer. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend!

Ideal shaded sites, close to beaches, fishing, and good food.

This is a relaxing, natural campground. Many bird songs at sunrise and Whip poor will calls at sunset every night. We have dogs and there are nice places to walk along the pond, and grass areas all around the campground. The dog park is nice for some off leash time. The facilities are great with a store, laundry, and clean restrooms and showers. A very nice pool is available, but with Sunset beach, and Ocean Isle beach just minutes away we have gone there daily. I am fascinated by Bird Island that is a nature preserve and reachable from Sunset beach, this is a day trip we are looking forward to taking the dogs on. Calabash is another town we have visited and it is a gem. We didn’t expect to want anything but seafood but the Peruvian restaurants’ line out the door was intriguing and we ended up there for a late lunch and loved it. My partner is an avid fisherman and had a great day fishing on a Hurricane charter out of Calabash.

        Nice spot for family/friends gathering

This is a spacious group camping area; You can rent some cabins and/or rent RV spots so if you have a mixed camping family, so came come in their rvs/trailers and others can rent a cabin and y'all will still be next to each other.  The park is on the smaller size but has a few hiking trails that are very nice.  It also has a trail that goes around Singletary lake!  The lake is awesome, great kayaking and fishing!  The area is just away from White lake and Elizabethtown to be secluded and private but close enough to get what you need from the Walmart or Food Lion in town!  There are also a decent number of "hometown" restaurants in town if you want to go out to eat!  Georgio's is awesome!

        Over night stop

We did an overnight stop here.

The campground was ok, but our site sucked. It was under construction, so the yard was tore up and we had no picnic table. The site was super uneven, so we didn’t pull the slides out. Sucked about that picnic table for that reason especially.

The campground is ok for a holiday.

        Unpleasant Stay

This campground has plenty of curb appeal: large sites, nicely spaced; shade trees and privacy shrubs; clean, well-lit bathrooms with quality fixtures. I only realized my mistake once I started setting up my tent. The biggest drawback here is the mosquitoes. Out of 30+ campgrounds this summer, this is the first one where I've had to break out the picaridin lotion. (It worked, luckily.) Other wildlife included big black ants - lots of them - and spiders so massive I could see their eyes gleaming in the beam of my headlamp.

These are all natural parts of camping in this environment. What really ground my gears was the RV campers across from me who ran a generator. They turned it off at 11 pm, thankfully, but it came right back on at 8 am. I wasted no time getting out of there. Bad, bad campground etiquette. RV folks - please don't do this, even if you're technically allowed to. It ruins the experience for your neighbors.

        Great spot!

I’ve been staying here every summer since i was a kid. So probably 11 summers now. It’s a great place. Clean bathrooms and cute well air conditioned cabins. You can ride your bike or walk to the boardwalk with some of the way having a paved bike trails. Gates close i think at 10 and open in the morning so remember to bring bikes. During the summer it is very humid and hot with lots of mosquitoes so remember to bring your bug spray. Try britt’s doughnuts of wake and bake before you leave, i promise you won’t regret it.

        Beautiful, convenient.

Great campground, excellent marina and paddling opportunities on the Cape Fear River with paddle access to many small white sand beaches.  Marine store nearby, Bath houses very clean and newish.  Sites relatively private and well shaded for the most part.  Be careful in site selection though a few would be very tight for even the smallest pop ups with someone with a PhD. in backing up.  I would avoid #60 & 61 in particular. While in the town of Carolina Beach, campground in not on the beach.  Beaches are a brief drive away. Nice hiking opportunities too.  Shopping and dining options only minutes away.

      • Limited Amenities: Some campgrounds, like Hammocks Beach State Park Campground, have fewer amenities. A visitor noted, "There are NO trash cans or trash collecting points, so you have to pack trash out."
      • RV Considerations: If you're bringing an RV, check site sizes. A camper at Holden Beach RV Campground mentioned, "Our site seemed to be one of the few that directly faced another site... which was a little uncomfortable."

      Tips for camping with families:

      • Plan for Activities: Look for campgrounds with kid-friendly activities. At Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Daddy Joe's, one parent said, "3 beautiful pools, a splash pad, lots of activities for kids."
      • Pack Snacks: Bring plenty of snacks and drinks, especially if you're heading to remote spots like Hammocks Beach State Park Campground. A camper advised, "We took a lot! With food, coolers, camp stuff... it’s a long walk!"

      Tips from RVers:

      • Check Site Sizes: Make sure your RV fits the site. A camper at Wilmington KOA mentioned, "The campground was ok, but our site sucked... it was under construction."
      • Use Leveling Blocks: Some sites can be uneven. A reviewer at Cedar Point Campground suggested, "Some sites are really huge! A fair amount of military activity in the area."
      • Plan for Noise: Be aware of potential noise from nearby activities. A camper at Onslow Beach Campsites noted, "The bridge that is right behind camp... Construction noise started a little before 0700 each day."
