Wilsonville Rec Area

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Boating and fishing draw most visitors to Wilsonville Rec Area, a utility-company-managed campground sitting directly on Lake Wallenpaupack in Hawley, Pennsylvania. Boat slips and a launch ramp are available for a daily fee, giving campers with their own watercraft quick access to the lake without trailering to a separate facility. The campground runs from late April through mid-October, and reservations are accepted. Anglers and paddlers who want a base close to campgrounds near Hawley will find this location convenient for day trips around the region.

Sites are a good size and come with water and electric hookups, accommodating RVs up to 40 feet. There is no sewer connection at individual sites, but a dump station is available on the way out. A township park adjacent to the campground includes a swimming beach, snack shop, and picnic area for a small per-person fee. Caffrey Recreation Area and Lake Mocatek Campground are among the nearby alternatives along the same stretch of the lake.

The bathrooms are older but consistently noted as well-maintained. Showers require quarters and have drawn complaints about water temperature, particularly from tent campers who note the pricing structure feels uneven relative to RV rates. WiFi is available on-site. East Shore Lodging sits just down the road for campers who want to compare nearby options before booking. As Brett L. puts it, the campground is "right on Lake Wallenpaupack," which sums up the main draw. This campground works best for RV campers or boaters who prioritize direct lake access over premium amenities.

Campers regularly cited the lakefront location and basic hookups as highlights. Multiple guests pointed out pricing disparities and shower issues that affected tent campers more than RV users.

Not nice to tent campers

Although the site is nice, the operator is not nice to tent campers! Tents pay 32 US-Dollars per weekday while RVs just pay 2 bucks more 🙁. For showers, you have to insert quarters to get a cold shower 🥶🥶🥶🥶 while RVs take a lot of electricity to heat up water for a hot 🔥 shower 🚿. We’ve seen over 15 campgrounds in the last 15 days, but no one was so avaricious!

Not bad for a good price

Right on Lake Wallenpaupack. Boat slips available if you own a boat. Pretty quiet. Bathrooms old but well kept. Water and electric. No sewer but can get honey wagon and there is a dump station on way out. Price was very good

Nice getaway

Really nice park, good size sites, seasonal campers were very nice and polite boat launch and slips avail for daily fee. Park and bathrooms were very clean. I will definitely return
