This was my second time staying here, I felt the need to write an updated review. I stayed in cabin 4 and was very impressed very clean and spacious probably could sleep 8 people. If you are looking for a place to stay while fishing for trout and steelhead this is your spot. They are directly on elk creek for the finest fishing imaginable. Campsite offers tent camping but it’s mostly in a open field. If your going to stay there don’t mess around just stick with the cabins. Uncle Johns is run by husband and wife, doesn’t seem to be any other staff so you need to have some patience.
Otter lake has every amenity imaginable super clean swimming beach beautiful lake with boat rentals available. Tons of activities for kids and adults. Indoor pool with 2 hot tubs even a dry sauna. Tennis volleyball pickle ball basketball bocce ball. Can’t wait to return. Sites seem to cater to Rv camping but tents are not bad.
Just stayed 2 nights with my 7 yrs. old daughter we had a blast. Everyone was very nice camp host and DCNR were very helpful We were warned at check in that there have been a lot of bears in the area but never really thought that we would see one. As soon as we got to our site one came right up as we were setting up our tent. Do not leave any food out be sure to lock up everything in car. Camp sites were nice most had plenty of trees for privacy but were still kind of close. Pet sites looked to have more space. The lake is very nice a little copper kind of like iced tea color but was very nice. They have a few hiking trails we didn't get to do, also have a horse shoe pit volleyball ball area and a little play area in the camping area. There was plenty more at the swimming area. Bathrooms were immaculate even had a family bathroom
Really nice park, good size sites, seasonal campers were very nice and polite boat launch and slips avail for daily fee. Park and bathrooms were very clean. I will definitely return
We decided to stay a weekend here because my sister lives right down the road. We had no idea how great of a spot she had right nextdoor. We kind of did a last min trip between 3 family's we all got separate sites scattered along the river it was beautiful. We tubed down river, fished the pond, swam in the pool, did the hay ride, even attended the dance at night. Definitely be sure to grab a snack at the food hit they have. Very good food. Also great general store. Back at the campsite it still gives you that roughing it camping feel.
This is not really a family campground. They have quite a few cabins some looked nice some not so nice. I stayed in what they called the train car. I only recommend that for a group of guys only there for the world class fishing. All in all if you are looking for a roughing it experience while you are slaying monster steel head look no further. The owner and staff were very nice and helpful with the surrounding area. Can't wait to go back
I've stayed in the cabins here a couple times. Love the area lots to do hiking fishing nature walks, something for everyone. Cabins are no frills yet very nice no electricity they are equipi with 4 bunks a LG picnic table and a wood stove for heat. Also a nice porch fire ring and a charcoal grill
Camp site was great right on the water. Site 19. Extra lg site pretty flat and private only downfall directly across from campsite was a gorgeous golf course, kind of takes the camping feel away. There are tons of hiking trails to accommodate all levels of expertise. Bathrooms were always clean with fairly warm water. Can't wait to get back!
