With 30-amp electric service and full hookups available, Lower Lake Campground Northwoods Area operates as a drive-in facility within Promised Land State Park, charging $29-43 per night with reservations accepted. The campground sits near the lake with open terrain that provides limited privacy between sites, though pull-through options offer convenience for larger RVs.
Sites include fire rings with adjustable grates and large picnic tables. The bathhouse features warm showers, dishwashing sinks, and coin-operated laundry facilities that campers consistently describe as well-maintained. Two potable water spigots serve the campground. Weekend visits tend to bring larger crowds and increased noise levels, though camp hosts enforce quiet hours.
"Access points to several trails are very near the campground," notes Angel A., with hiking opportunities including waterfall access. The lake provides swimming and fishing opportunities, and visitors report wildlife sightings including bald eagles. Pennsylvania state park regulations prohibit alcohol throughout the facility.
The Lake Store on Route 390 north of the park stocks camping essentials and ice for those needing supplies. Campers wanting different terrain can check Lower Lake Campground Beechwood Area — Promised Land State Park for more forested sites.
