Great place to stay outside GCNP

We stayed here because it was very reasonably priced for a cabin when we were visiting the Grand Canyon. After a very hot day seeing the Canyon, it was great to return to the pool. There was also a hot tub (age 14+ only). The cabins didn’t have air conditioning but it got pretty cool at night and there was a fan so we slept great. Everyone was friendly. Nice large and clean bathrooms and showers. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to visit!

Expensive but tons of amenities

This place was awesome for kids. A little loud and busy but still had clean bathrooms, hot showers, pool, hot tub, outdoor games, bike rentals… they were even delivering pizzas to campsites when we stayed that smelled amazing. Compared to other KOAs we have stayed at, this one was extremely expensive. However, given the location and all of the included amenities I can understand why. We had a great time and used this a launching off point to visit Big Sur.

Hidden Gem

We have stayed here twice now. We went for our second stay when visiting the Redwoods because we really appreciate a first come first serve campground. And this one is truly amazing! Tucked back in the Redwoods, you can hear highway noise from 101 but we chose a spot closer to the entrance and it didn’t bother us at all. The park has a day use area and even short trails that meander through the middle of the campground that are gorgeous. The camp host and his wife were so kind and sold firewood for $10 a bundle (by the way people, you shouldn’t just go up and take firewood when there is clearly a sign to ask the host…). Flush toilets. The only thing that would make this campground better are showers. Otherwise we had a great time here and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a spot in the area!

Nice overnight spot

Pretty and quiet spot to stop for the night while traveling. It’s a small campground with nice facilities. Hot showers, clean bathrooms, pool open late.

Great spot if you’re passing through.

Kind of different, it’s located in the middle of Missoula and there are residential areas on both sides of the campground. However, the grounds were very well kept and staff was exceptional. We stayed in a cabin (which was very reasonably priced) while passing through on a road trip. Clean bathrooms, hot showers, a pool, hot tub (adults only), equipment rental, mini golf, WiFi… lots of amenities! While it’s not your traditional camping experience, it worked great for us on our road trip. I would visit again!

Lots to do and see here!

We’ve stayed at this campground twice now in the tent-only loop (sites 40-45). The tent-only sites are walk-in, so you park at the top of a small hill and walk down to your site. It is beautiful! Sites are same-day reservation only, so you have to call the campground number starting at 6:00 MT to see if any spots are available. There’s some awesome trails you can access from the campground. There’s a swimming beach for the lake, and a small park for kids. Vault toilets and hot showers are available. Custer State Park is truly a gem.

Very cozy experience.

First time staying at a KOA and we were pleasantly surprised. Employees were super friendly and the campground was wooded and beautiful. Tent site was a little small, but small fences have been installed to create privacy between campers and the size didn’t bother us. Site had a picnic table and fire pit. Pool, hot tub, kart rentals for kids… our daughter loved it. Clean bathrooms and showers and even a dishwashing station behind the main building. Firewood sold for $10/bundle and they deliver it to your site for you. Pet friendly. Loved it!

Gorgeous.

This campground is situated in a beautiful forest, and was very very quiet while we were there. We got a pull-thru standard nonelectric site, but luckily it was large enough to fit our tent as well as our SUV. Site had a picnic table, fire pit and grill. Bathrooms did not have hand soap, so bring your own. No showers. Rialto Beach is a couple of miles down the road. We went to a ranger program one evening and Ranger Kate was spectacular and we learned a lot about ONP! Would stay again.

Pretty spot.

This campground was very large. We stayed in a blue tent site and the site was a pretty good size with room to park our vehicle. Bathrooms had reduced cleaning and showers were completely closed due to a staffing shortage, which was unfortunate. Direct access to the beach from inside the campground, and there was also a day use area of the park at the campground entrance. There’s a small general store that has some groceries and camping supplies (and some delicious pizza!) right before you turn into the campground. The campground itself also sells firewood when the entrance station is open. Overall we had a nice little stay here.

Wonderful spot for families.

We had a great time camping here for a week. Stayed in a tent and car camped. We stayed in the first and smaller loop. The sites had bushes between them for privacy and there was an open field in the middle of the loop which was a great spot for kids to play together. Just walk through the second loop of the campground and there is a short trail down to a beautiful beach. You can also access the Humbug Mountain Trail and Oregon Coastal Trail from the campground. Very clean flush toilets and large hot showers were a plus. Camp hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Firewood is sold for $5 a bundle from 5pm to 8pm. You can hear Hwy 101 but it quiets down at night and didn’t bother us a bit. Highly recommend!
