Location, Location, Location

We were in overflow so there was no privacy, no shade, no hookups and no fire. We only stayed there out of necessity since we were attending a festival. The beach access was confusing. The spot we thought it was was just a hill was a nice view. It was good for the dogs to run around though. The other spot it might have been the beach is too squishy to enjoy, my leg getting sucked in mid-calf. The rest of the campground looked pretty standard. Bathrooms were nice and clean and it was quiet at night which is better than some neighboring campgrounds.

Garibaldi is a cute place to visit though. Also close to places like Tillamook where the creamery is which is a must see. There's also a festival called Garibaldi Days which is why we were there every year which you should totally check out if you're here late July.

If your only option is overflow I would try something else if possible. Otherwise it's fine for a home-base to explore but not great camping.

Decent spot to camp

Camp ground is nice enough. Had last minute availability when my initial first come first saved camp spot fell through. It’s currently 10pm and other guests aren’t the most considerate as far a noise goes. Other than that it’s a decent camp ground in a great spot on the Oregon coast and a dry camp spot was only $26. Hard to beat that! Definitely worth a consideration if State parks north of this place are full.

Not a fav

Sites are really close. So many vehicles, boats and cars make it really crowded and hard to park. Roads are nothing but mud and pot holes. Laundry room was clean and prices were average. We were backed up to a fence next a bunch of boats and lobster/ crab nets. Men were very loud. People next to us were extremely loud.

Great spot to camp at.

In November 2020 the road into the park was rough and full of many pot holes but had lots of drive space. We stayed in space 415 the only camp that had a view of the bay which was only 100 feet from the site. There were 3 trees not very tall. Two on the left and one on the right of our space. The site was gravel based and only big enough for our truck with a camper to back in. The site had full hook ups, 50AMP, 30AMP, 110VAC and a sewer. The park has many tent and RV sites of which because of the time of year most sites were empty. There are many full time residents living in spaces 100, 200. They had a pre-paid wireless WYFI service that cost us$12 for 7 days of service. The bandwidth was some what low some of the time and good other times.

Great Location and Amenities

We stayed Aug 5-19. The park is mellow during the week and fills up during the weekend. Great access to crabbing, fishing, and Rockaway Beach. The Garibaldi Market has plenty of groceries for quick restock and occasionally fresh oysters!

Great Spot for a Teardrop Trailer Rally

The annual "Sunsets and Crabs" event by the Teardroppers of Oregon and Washington has been held here for a several years, and it is an amazing event. Good people, awesome trailers, and a great location with plenty of room right on the ocean.

The Old Mill RV Park & Event Center is large, and mostly caters to RVs. That particular area is somewhat separate from the group event area and has rows and rows of RVs all lined up. I don't know if I'd ever want to stay there. But the area for events is wide open and perfect (I know some people have also had things like family reunions). You can drive right up near the edge and set yourself up with a great view. Picnic tables and nice restrooms are included.

Pros: Amazing location with lots of space and good facilities.

Cons: The RV park is all on top of each other and I don't think I'd want to stay over there.

Works when everything else is full

The Old Mill RV Park feels much more like a trailer park than a costal campground, but they do allow tent camping. I wouldn't recommend it as a destination place to camp, but if everything at the coast is totally full this one will do in a pinch. It's perfectly fine for sleeping.

We used Old Mill as a jumping off point for Cape Lookout (because their campground was totally full) -- it's a 20 minute-ish drive away through rural farm land and gorgeous coast. It's also convenient for fishing and clamming in the Tilamook bay if you're bringing your own boat.

The Old Mill is right off of the 101 in Girabaldi--super convenient to the little downtown. The bathrooms are really far away from most sites. We drove when we went there.

There aren't exactly "sites" more of a really big field with picnic tables and markings. This did come in handy since we my friends had a boat trailer, and we were able to also park that in our "site".
