Twins Ranch LLC

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Sitting just off the highway outside Bay City, Oregon, Twins Ranch LLC draws campers with a feature that sets it apart from most private campgrounds in the region: rentable covered wagons. Each wagon sleeps four on futon mattresses, running $45 per night, and several reviewers specifically cite the wagons as the reason they rated the stay as highly as they did. Standard tent sites are also available across an open field with roughly 20 labeled spots, each with a fire pit and picnic table. Sites are spaced out enough to avoid feeling crowded, though the campground's proximity to the highway means road noise is a consistent presence that a privacy fence does not eliminate.

The ranch has a connection to a Rail Riders operation, where guests can rent pedal carts for a two-hour tour on old railroad tracks. Fishing at Bayview Jetty is close by. There is also a short quarter-mile trail on the property and horses to observe, making this more of an overnight stop than a destination for full-day activities.

Restrooms have drawn mixed feedback. Reviewers mention port-a-potties with unreliable lighting, though more recent reviews reference vault toilets. Water access is available on site, along with showers, firewood, and cell service. Camp hosts are noted for being responsive and keeping the property tidy. Danielle E. calls it "unique, convenient and affordable." Campers exploring campgrounds near Bay City will find this one a reasonable choice for families with kids who want something a little out of the ordinary.

Friendly owner average campground

Easy to find right off the highway however because of the proximity to the road there is constant highway noise. The campground had a privacy fence and there is no visibility from the road which provides privacy but does not erase the noise. Vault toilets and plenty of water access, the campground spots are labeled but not separated, we had no neighbors and our young kids had lots of room to run. There is a small trail to hike about a quarter mile and horses to look at but other than that not much to do it’s more of a stop and go type of camp site rather than spending the day there.

Nice little campground!

Hi, Twin's Ranch campground is privately owned.. The campsites are nice with a fire pit and picnic table, spaced out enough that you're not right on top of each other.. The price is also very reasonable.. The highlight of Twin's Ranch is the Covered wagon's you can rent and sleep in. They have 2 futon mattresses and sleep 4.. Also, they are part of the Rail Rider's, you can rent a cart that you pedal for a 2 hour tour on the old railroad tracks.. a little Spendy at $30 per person. The only thing that kept me from rating it 5 star's is the restroom's which are port a potties .. only 2 per campground and they the light only stayed on for a couple of second's in 1 and not at all in the other. Fishing is also really close by at Bayview Jetty.. All in all a good experience with my family

Loved the covered wagons!

What a unique experience to have the opportunity to spend a night in a rustic covered wagon! Especially fun for families with kids. The camp hosts were responsive throughout the stay and keep the property very tidy.  I'd recommend this to anyone heading to the Tillamook area.

Perfect destination for tweens who love the Oregon Trail

I almost don't want to tell anyone about this adorable secret!  If you have a kid who loves history, the Oregon Trail, Little House on the Prairie, and dressing in character, this is your spot!  Even during Covid!  While the bathroom and shower set up are much to be desired, the covered wagons make up for it in every way!  My kids went on walks and collected berries, leaves, buds and lots of memories.  Wagons are spread out so there are no worries about crowding.  Hope you go!  - Consider dressing in costume!

Great for the price

Unique, convenient and affordable. If you’re looking to tent camp, it’s a wide open field with approx 20 sites. They also offer covered wagons which sleep 4 for $45 and is the reason I bumped this rating from a 3 to a 4-star; it’s unique!
