Best RV Parks & Resorts near Hitchcock, OK

We stayed here one night while traveling. There are several long term sites, with very nice, well kept RV’s. The short term sites are out in the open and all but one are large pull throughs. Full hookups. Sites are very level. The restrooms and showers are really nice and clean. You have to pay $3 for a shower. There is a washer and dryer for use by guests, and it costs $3 to wash and dry a load. We showered and washed clothes. Very nice. Lots of grassy areas to walk the dogs. This campground is on farm land and in beautiful countryside. It’s very peaceful and relatively quiet considering it’s right on the old Route 66. Just a little traffic noise every now and then. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. There is a casino nearby.

This is a small, but comfy RV park with full hookups (30/50amp), bath house and laundry facilities. There is also a common fire pit. The place is located on historic Route 66. Close to the I-40, but far enough away that the passing traffic would bother you. The hosts, Danny and Virgina, are the nicest people you will ever meet. I am a brand new RVer and had problems backing my trailer into one of the slips. Virgjnia was nice enough to back the trailer in for me. I will deffinitely stop by again whenever I am in Hinton/Bridgeport, OK area. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

We were in Site# 66. We had Full hook- up with a paved pull-through.
We travel towing a 14 foot trailer and were able to fit both in our pull through site along with my jeep.

The site was easy to level. Our site was not shaded with limited trees. In eight years of RV-ing, we’ve never had such little space between us and our neighbors. We literally walk out our door into their sewer. (See pictures) My husband can touch both RVs with his arms outstretched.

The lot did not come with a concrete patio, picnic table, or a fire ring. Some lots had a picnic table. We did not request one since we’d be eating at our neighbor’s sewer.

It is an easy access to the campground from highway -(right off the highway).

There is free WiFi. They offer Cable TV and there are many local channels).

They do not sell wood here.

They do not provide garbage service at your site but there are many barrel drum trash cans that can be accessed.

You are allowed to ride personal golf carts. They do not provide golf cart rentals. There is really not a need to have a Golf cart because it is a smaller campground.

They do have a Swimming pool (not heated & freezing). They have a fishing Lake on property (it is hidden behind some cabins so you could stay here & never know the lake is here). There are two Buffalo that are owned by the owners of the restaurant and trading post above the KOA (who also own the KOA).

There is a Playground and jumping pad for kids. They have a basic general store.

There is not a snack bar/restaurant on site but there is a restaurant at the top of the hill.

The streets are paved and good for riding bikes. There is not really anywhere to ride bikes outside of campground.

This is a RV park but also have many cabins for rent and tent areas.

They have 2 shower houses. The shower house has the typical stalls. These are kept very clean.

There is a laundry facility. It is a cash only facility. You’ll need to get change in the main office while they are open (no change machine). There are approximately 6 washers and 6 dryers. It is approximately $2 to wash and $2 to dry a load.

They have a fenced in dog park.

Bugs were an issue and bug spray was definitely needed.

There were no trails to hike in the campground.

We’ve noticed that the casinos nearby mainly offer slot machines only (very few have live tables (craps, roulette, blackjack,etc.).

Stopped here to get onion burgers at Sid’s Diner on Rt 66 in El Reno (highly recommended). This park is run by the Best Western. The sites are pretty beat up, there are a few long term residents. The showers and laundry are clean and convenient but the AC didn’t work when we were there and it was pretty hot. It is very reasonably priced and you get the hotel breakfast buffet and can use the pool.

Super convenient and Harvest Host as well. 

Perfect for a one night stay our site (18) had full hook ups (they all do!) but we didn't need them so the site was free for Harvest Host members. FHU was available for $15 which is less than half the full price for a regular campsite.

Easy in-out gravel sites with grass all around. Good spacing. Danny is super friendly.

We visited Wanderlust Crossings RV Park in late October 2020 in the aftermath of a major ice storm that swept across Oklahoma. When we arrived we learned that they had just suffered a power outage from the ice storm and they asked us if we wanted to stay or if we wanted them to cancel our reservation. Just from seeing the cleanliness of the main office / store, it was a no-brainer that we would stay. Honestly, this RV park is the absolute nicest one I've seen, especially considering that there really isn't an attraction or naturally beautiful landscape to make up for shortcomings that you may find elsewhere. This park made me want to be an investor with the owners because they've definitely figured out how to run a tight ship. The sites are huge and well spaced out. The landscaping is freshly maintained. All of the buildings are new and have a modern industrial decor. I wish we had the opportunity to stay longer than two nights. Everything about our experience was pleasant - even in the absence of electricity for much of our stay!

This rv park is the perfect place to stay on Route 66! It’s about 35 minutes from Oklahoma City and there are smaller grocery stores within 10 minutes of the site. The owner was so nice and helpful! Amazing sunsets and very peaceful! We will most definitely stay here again if we are in the area!!

My dog, Ava, and I joined a group of fellow teardrop campers in a surprisingly unique and fascinating campground in Oklahoma. This campground, formally known as Red Rock Canyon State Park, has now become simply Red Rock Canyon Campground. The state park was slated for closure when a local family from the nearby town of Hinton negotiated to lease this lovely place from the state in order to keep this local gem open for both day use and camping.

WOW, what a great service they have done for camper travelers. After checking in at the friendly office, we found ourselves driving down a somewhat steep and winding road into the canyon. Now I'm pulling a 2300 pound teardrop, but plenty of big rigs have also made it down with no problems. The place really is enchanting. The tent sites are tucked right into the canyon walls, and full hook ups, while not tucked in are right inside the canyon as well. With kids in mind, there are many playgrounds as well as repelling and trails for adult types, but you must bring your own climbing equipment.

The one downside for me was the pay showers. It was 75 cents for a six minute shower, and change machines were right there, but hey, I want free showers.

The stay at Territory Route 66 RV park & campgrounds was easy to find, easy to drive in, peaceful stay, clean grounds, friendly people (the owners Danny & Carol were on site to say hello!) We would stay again

This RV park looks like it is brand new. It is beautiful and clean and well maintained. There is a cute store where you check in and a nice fenced playground and dog run. It has a good size clean laundry room and a very nice dog wash. The bathrooms are gorgeous! They pick up your trash right at your site! It’s right off the exit but once you are in the park you can’t even tell there is a highway nearby. There are two nice gas stations with hot food and necessities very close by. The price was very reasonable! We will definitely stay again!

Roman Nose is a popular State Park with many activities to keep you entertained & beautiful scenery. We stayed at RV Site #39 at Two Lakes & enjoyed our stay. It was a clean site with full hookups, picnic table, fire pit and spaced well from the other sites. Traffic was heavy because of the nearby General Store, fishing dock and one trail head to Inspiration Point. If we returned, would stay at #40, but #37, 38 & #39 are good sites.

Cedar Cove had water & electric and seemed to be the sites with least traffic & felt a bit more peaceful.

Canyon Vista is very crowded, open & only for those that enjoy knowing their neighbors well. When we walked by, it felt like a huge party, everyone seemed happy & enjoying their time.

Bitter Creek RV Area & Bitter Creek Tent Area are separated from the hustle & bustle, however the RV area is very open & very visible from the main road. It is good for very big RVs.

The Spring Loop Trail with the Spring Pavilion & the old OCC Pool is a must & so is the Inspiration Point Trail. Inspiration Point Trail is a moderate trail with some steep grades.

This place is right on Route 66. All sites have full hookups and half are pull throughs. There is a nice office with laundry, restrooms, and showers. WiFi is good and owners are very personable. There is a constant breeze that helps on this hot day

Just a couple miles off I40 and on Historic Route 66, this was the perfect overnight stop for us. Owners Carol & Danny greeted us as we arrived as did a beautiful sunset. Their office was available to us for easy laundry and showers, thank you!!! Cash only, full hookups.

We had a great time. Lots of opportunity in this canyon from Roppeling, rock climbing, tent /RV camp sites to day sites, a remodeled pool with two slides and rock climbing wall, it has it all. We stayed in camp site #6 and feel in love. We will be back!
