Chautauqua Lake KOA

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Sitting along the western shore of Chautauqua Lake in Dewittville, New York, this KOA Holiday draws both overnight travelers and longer-stay campers looking for full-hookup convenience with lake views nearby. The campground layout is large and somewhat complex, with pull-through sites on named roads like Chestnut Drive and seasonal sites closer to the water that tend to have partial lake views. RVs up to 80 feet can be accommodated, with electric, water, and sewer hookups available throughout.

Sites are consistently described as spacious, well-maintained, and well-spaced. Reviewers with 30-foot trailers report having room for a truck and screen house alongside their rig. Premium pull-through sites include concrete patios and furniture. The bathrooms and shower facilities draw repeated praise for cleanliness. Cell service gets mixed marks from reviewers, but Shelby notes "clean bathrooms with hot showers and fast WiFi," suggesting the campground's own network fills the gap reliably. The pool has been flagged as undersized relative to the number of sites, and at least one reviewer noted tile repairs were overdue.

Activities cluster near the front entrance, including mini golf, a basketball court, and a jumping pillow. Campers without a golf cart may need to drive between the back sections and the front amenities. The campground sits close enough to the Interstate to be a practical overnight stop on longer routes, yet reviewers consistently note no highway noise reaches the sites. For campers planning to stay in the area, camping near Mayville gives a broader look at options along this stretch of the lake. Those wanting a smaller-scale alternative nearby might consider Chautauqua Heights Campground & Park, roughly a quarter mile to the southeast.

One Nighter

Although this is a KOA Holiday, we used it as a KOA Journey on our way to the Catskills. Not too far from the Interstate & there was no highway noise at the campground.

We arrived right at 5pm, which is when they close up, but Victoria went above & beyond & took us right to our site. Good thing, since we were at the back of a confusing layout.

There are sites in this section that have a partial view of the lake, but they looked like seasonal sites. All the sites looked well cared for. We had a pull through on Chestnut Drive.  Y1

If you have kids, most of the activities they would be interested in are at the front entrance. If you don't have a golf cart, you may have to drive to the front for the pool, mini golf, basketball court & jumping pillow.

It doesn't look like they have many cabins.

There's another playground in the back that was getting used. There was supposed to be a splash pad, but I didn't see an evidence of that.

The bathroom/shower house are duel toilet/showers. Not my favorite, but we didn't have any trouble getting in.

We used the back exit on our way out, which was convenient. At least we didn't have to go back to the front entrance!

BTW, Victoria is a treasure! She's friendly & goes above& beyond for customer service. We really appreciated the time she took with us.

Largest sites I've ever seen!

Stayed here two separate times summer of '23. Each time we look loved it! The sites are HUGE, plenty of space for our 30' TT, truck, and screen house. Nice large parks, mini-golf, and jump pad. Only complaint I had was the pool was undersized for the number of sites they have and it is in need of some repairs to fix tiles that are falling off. Some great views of the lake and surrounding area. Night sky was perfect for viewing stars!

Quaint and Quiet

On our way to Cape Cod, we stayed for one night here. We arrived just before sunset on a rainy evening. Our site was a pull-through by request, and the beautiful surroundings of greenery and dew with shimmering sunshine had us wishing we could stay longer.  Our site was large and simple, but just what we had wanted. Very kind folks all around.

Resort like campground

This campground is very well taken care of, and huge! We did not take advantage of all of the amenities available, but the bathroom was great. It was a single room with toilet and shower - and it was incredibly clean.

We opted for a premium pull-thru site, which included furniture and a concrete patio. This is not our typical type of camping, but I knew that the views would be beautiful, so we splurged. Our old, vintage Scotty camper was probably a bit out of place in this section of the campground, be we enjoyed being there regardless.
