Best RV Parks & Resorts near Potosi, MO

Big Creek RV Park in Annapolis features pull-through sites with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections, while Pheasant Acres RV Park in St. James maintains 24 sites with both 30 and 50-amp service. "The spots have a bit of breathing room between them. There were tent campers on up to a 40 foot toy hauler," noted one visitor about camping in the region. Beyond the Trail RV Park offers concrete pads with full hookups, and Candy Cane RV Park & Campground in Steelville accommodates big rigs with electric, water, and sewer connections on level sites.

Most RV parks in the area remain open year-round with varying seasonal amenities. Dump stations are available at most locations, though a review mentioned that "while there's access to drinking water and some 30 amp sites, there's no dump station" at certain public campgrounds. Cell service varies significantly throughout the region's valleys and forested areas, with AT&T generally providing better coverage than T-Mobile. Pet-friendly policies are standard at nearly all RV parks, though leash requirements apply universally. Propane refill services can be found in Sullivan and Steelville, with limited availability during winter months. Concrete pads are common at newer facilities, while older campgrounds typically feature gravel sites that may require leveling blocks during wet conditions.

    Silver Mines

    Nice and affordable

This is a nice little campground located in the Mark Twain National Forest. The St. Francis River runs behind the camp loop and the boat launch is walking distance, with room to splash around and fish. We were in site 8. The sites have a bit of breathing room between them. There were tent campers on up to a 40 foot toy hauler. The vault toilets were a bit sketchy and, while there's access to drinking water and some 30 amp sites, there's no dump station.

    Birch Creek RV Park

    Nice spot for quick stop

This is a small RV park just off I-44 about 20 minutes from Meramec Caverns. It’s very close to the highway so there is lots of highway noise. Some sites are farther away so not so bad. There is easy access from I-44.

30 & 50-Amp Electrical, Water & Sewer Hook-ups. Concrete pads. Bathroom/showers are clean. Pet friendly, coin laundry. Some pull thru sites. Adjacent to the Great American Flea Market on weekends if you like that stuff.

    Meramec State Park Campground

    Mera-culously huge

Huge park with tons of amenities and options. Although there is year round Camping, the host on site advised water to each individual site will be turned off end of October for winter. Potable water is available near dump stations (hmmm....). Very well kept, and vacant this time of year, affords the opportunity for a more private camping and river experience. Clean well kept shower houses. Lodge & cabin rentals also available. Boat ramp in back of campground. Campsites with blue bands and parking stops are ADA compliant with concrete pads, elevated grills plus fire ring and picnic table.

    Onondaga Cave State Park Campground

    Clean and quiet park

We stayed one night on our way through Missouri. It’s only about ten minutes south of I-44. The campground was only about half full, so it was nice and quiet. All sites have a concrete pad for the RV and for the picnic table. Includes water and electric. Playground, laundry room, and dump station. Hiking trails available from the campground and cave tours on weekends. We stayed at site #65 which is close to the entrance/restrooms and has no campsite on either side.

    Meramec Caverns Natural Campground

Great Place to camp and enjoy!

This was our first trip in our camper and a first camp at Meramec Caverns.

The staff is friendly and helpful. Security patrols around the clock and doesn't put up with any ridiculousness.

Campsites available on pavement, gravel for campers and RVs and grass for tents. Our site had 30/50 amp service and water on a gravel site facing the Meramec River. It waa a beautiful view!

Shower house and restroom facilities are clean and maintained.

A dump station is located just outsIde the main gate of the campgrounds.

Because of the location, there is no wifi and we had no cell service for the majority of our stay. Once in a while it would get a signal but it was very brief.

Campsites are separated from the Meramec Caverns tourist attractions so there is not constant traffic coming through the campsite.

Most campsites had a stone fire ring, bbq grill, and picnic table.

The cave tour, zipline, boat ride, canoe and float trips and motel are all within short walking distance from the campgrounds.

The campground store has ice, firewood and basics available. The gift shop at the cave has typical tourist items available. The restaurant is more of a snack bar and not a full service restaurant, so don't rely on it for your meals during your stay!

The cave tour is interesting and informative and on a hot day the 60 degree temp of the cave is the perfect place to hang out for a while!

Overall, a very nice place to camp and enjoy the outdoors without being too far from home.

We will definitely be back for another stay!

    Greensfelder County Park

    Rvs and trailers

Small campground ground ram by saint louis county parks. We were the only ones here. Heavy equestrian park, it’s not required (to have a horse) to stay here. A few piles of horses droppings but very well maintained. We stay about 30 feet to the right of the horse pin, and behind it where they dump the horse stuff really can’t smell anything. Only sites 20-29 have electric and 28 can’t be reserved. Pro -Most sites are great for trailers 26’ or less and 1 slide (sites 24-26 can fit a fifth wheel probably no bigger than 36-38 ft) -2-20 amp plugs and 1-30amp plug -Not to many trees hanging over your camper that would drop branches -site 29 where we stayed can fit a 40’ fifth wheel -a lot of room to back in -showers and restrooms year around -frost free water at both ends of the campground -usual fire pit, picnic table and grill -park campers on grass to be closer to one side or another of your site -sites are reservable

Cons -no water at sites -no 50 amps -no dump but KOA and RV dealer 5-7 mins away

-site 29 only have 2-20 amp plugs no 30 didn’t realized till we parked. Only this one doesn’t have 30 -horses traffic on Saturday eventually from what the ranger told me once Covid is better -most sites back up to main road(mostly light traffic and none at night)

    Washington State Park Campground

    The perfect park

We absolutely love this park. It’s just under an hour from St. Louis, with river access, amazing hiking trails & great views. Very clean campsites with lots of shade for tent campers & nice level lots. There is even a swimming pool if the river isn’t your thing & a couple playgrounds too. There is a dollar general right outside the park entrance which is super convenient if you forget something or your lighter runs out of fluid like us lol. They have cabins to rents as well as Camper spots and basic lots. Pet friendly! Highly recommend this park. The whole family enjoyed staying here.
