The Best RV Camping Near Esther, Missouri

You can pitch your tent in the fields or at the edge of the woods, pick your own spot. The sites are all in the fields with the animals! Our property is very secluded, kind of on the corner of a very forested area. We have picnic tables and portable firepits at our four drive up sites. If you'd like to be more adventurous or you prefer more seclusion you can choose your own spot, you just need to hike in and tote your gear.

Hummingbird Hollow Farm Sanctuary, Corp. was founded in January of 2020. Yes, right before Covid changed the world. I've lived on this farm since 2006, when my husband and I bought it as our dream home after the kids were out of high school. He wanted woods so he could walk out the door and go hunting, and I wanted pasture to fulfill my girlhood dream of owning horses (and all other animals I could collect) and pursue my passion of gardening. It was perfect, but tragically he died of ALS two years after moving here. He did get to fulfill his dream. I am continuing to work on mine and want to share it with you. The property and animals are here for you to enjoy.

Castor River Ranch Campground offers a peaceful, private river-front camping experience in a natural setting yet has immediate access to state highway DD. All of our RV/Campsites are very spacious and are furnished with picnic tables, stone fire pits, septic, electric (30 - 50-110 amp) and spring- water. We offer canoe/ kayak/tube out fitting and a shuttle service for float trips. The Castor River offers some of the best small mouth bass fishing found anywhere. In addition to river activities, we have 140 acres of hiking trails that contain a piece of the old Missouri Pacific Railroad bed and a tunnel dating back to the 1800's. CRRC also has fenced pasture and water available for those equestrians who prefer to go camping with their horses.  We have horse trails, kayaks, canoes, and floating available on the beautiful Castor River!



Castor River Ranch Campground

This 1200 acre property used to be the beautiful Cherokee Ridge Girl Scout camp until it was sold in 2019. We have went through extensive renovations and development to bring this property to the public so that it can be enjoyed by our guests. River access and our private gravel/sand bars are available exclusively to our guests and have provided some of the most peaceful weekends imaginable.

We have everything from glamping tents right on the river bluff to 16 fully equipped cabins with hot tubs overlooking the 23 acre lake with a beach and activities.

We have 4 Conestoga Wagons that are heated and air conditioned complete with picnic table and fire ring. A must see!

46 RV sites with picnic tables fire/grill pits with a variety of 30 and 50 amp pull-through and back-in sites. We offer float trips, rental boats/paddle boards for the lake, and rental golf carts to adventure around the park.

The park is going through endless development to continue to provide everyone with the most enjoyable and peaceful vacation possible.

Welcome to Timber Run Campground (formerly Perryville Campground), where you can enjoy the best that nature has to offer all season, every season. Our award-winning Campground offers full hook-up, pull through RV sites, rustic to glamping cabins, ultra clean and inviting bathhouses, playgrounds and activities; there's something for everyone. Take time to enjoy a nature hike around the one -hundred acre lake or a refreshing dip in our pool. Bring your side-by-side and/or golf cart, they are permitted onsite and around town. We welcome you to book today for your overnight stay, group outings, parties, family reunions or weddings and more. We have two pavilions with frequent live music events. ## Overview

Silver Mines Campground is located on the St. Francis River in the Mark Twain National Forest. It offers a variety of recreational opportunities and abundant historic and geological wonders. 

## Recreation

Parts of the river are available for swimming, while other portions provide good fishing. Whitewater kayaking is a popular activity during the springtime when water runs high. Depending on water levels, the state holds an annual kayaking competition the third weekend of March.   
  
The 2-mile Silver Mines Trail follows both sides of the river, leading to various picnic areas. A 1.2-mile trail spurs to a popular conservation area, where visitors can view spectacular rock formations along the river. 

## Facilities

The campground offers dozens of single-family campsites, as well as large group sites, all available for tent and RV camping. Some sites have 30-amp electric hookups. The large group sites can accommodate up to 75 and 100 people. Additional sites are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.   
  
Picnic tables and campfire rings with grills are provided, as are accessible vault toilets and drinking water. Parking spurs vary from asphalt, to grass, to gravel or dirt. 

## Natural Features

This beautiful area is located along the St. Francis River, the only river in Missouri classified as a whitewater river. It is widely used for kayaking during springtime. The campground is located at a historic mining operation and is known for its Precambrian granite and felsite rocks. A variety of wildlife makes its home in the area. 

## Nearby Attractions

The Millstream Gardens Conservation Area is located eight miles west of Fredericktown, or four miles west of the campground, on Highway 72. It is home to the scenic Tiemann Shut-ins and other spectacular sights along the riverbed.
