A magical place

A magical place. This place is so much more than a beautiful campground nestled among gorgeous old growth trees located right on the shore. It’s also a treasure trove of arts of all kinds - fiber arts, metal sculptures, carvings, paintings, and music. We got lucky and stayed on a lovely weekend…

Quiet and nice

Clean, orderly and peaceful. Great campground for small rigs, pull behinds, vans and tents. Water view sites are very limited so book ahead. Sites 12 and 10 offer good water views. Other sites range from secluded to close. A very quiet and peaceful rocky beach is found down a nice path with two…

Great family owned campground!

Great place to stay. Sue and Peter are wonderful and make you feel like family! The grounds are kept in immaculate shape. It's away from Bar Harbor but close enough to go visit. We liked going to the Winter Harbor area to hike and ride bikes. Corea Wharf was a great place to eat and LobStore is a…

The Quiet Mainland Section of Acadia - Drop dead gorgeous

Schoodic Woods NPS campground is state of the art for the Park Service. Not only is this new Acadia campground wired for wifi and electric boxes, but the bathrooms are shockingly well-conceived. No showers, but excellent dish washing set-up.

Sites are generally private and well-cared for.…

Quick walk to bathrooms & showers, which are very clean. Held lots of activities over the weekend, busy crowd. Got a nice secluded tent space.

Spectacular Seawall - Known & loved throughout the NPS system

Famous Seawall Campground is divided into four loops. I can only review loops A & B where I have stayed…although I did look quickly at loop C which has a parking lot configuration and doesn’t have the character of loops A & B which are in the woods. Stay at Seawall if you can possibly…

Clean, well-managed with friendly rangers- decent showers

Lamoine State Park represents the way most Maine state parks should operate. Way ahead of both Camden Hills and Cobscook with regard to cleanliness and upkeep. Showers were surprisingly good and often cleaned.

There are two non-reservable sites right on the Bay--- do try for one of those when…

Great for families

Bathrooms are easy to walk to, water available, firepits on tent lots and a parking space for one suv size car. There is some car flow so keep an eye on children, but not too much. Close to small town.

Avoid this place!

Where to start. We arrived and waited while the"owner" meandered to the office, on the phone. She opened the door to the"camp office/store" and proceeded inside without acknowledging my presence or inviting me in. I made my way in and she proceeded to talk on the phone for 10 minutes. The roads are…
