A fun weekend

We had a great weekend here, it is in a great location to get to downtown Ellsworth or go into Bar Harbor. The sites were big and spaced out well and the vibe of the campground is great.

Friendly, good amenities, close to Acadia, Ellsworth & Bar Harbor

We stayed here from Thursday to Sunday in site #67. I would recommend requesting a site other than 66 or 67 because it backs right up to the water pump system for the RV park, which is quite loud when the pump turns on and off. Other than that, campground was great. They have a store with basically anything you need. There's a Walmart down the road. It's 30 min from Acadia NP, 15-20 min from Bar Harbor and about 15 min from Ellsworth. Showers & boathouse was clean and showers were some of the best I've had on a campground. Good water pressure & hot. Lots of seasonal campers. Everyone was pretty friendly. You can also get lobster from the camp store (cooked or live). Our spot was nice bc it backed up to the woods. The larger rig sites in the back are more open with no tree cover. Laundry building is coin operated and was super convenient. Campground is VERY dog friendly! Lots of dogs being walked and on campsites. We would stay again for sure.

Clean and Quiet.

This place is a hidden gem. We originally booked at Narrows Too but they had to cancel the morning we were scheduled to arrive due to a water issue. Booked at Timberland as a last minute option and was pleasantly surprised! It is so quiet. The bathrooms/showers were very clean. Everyone is friendly and most campers are seasonal. It’s about 15-20mins to the park. We also saved about $120 overall since most of the campgrounds in the park are more expensive. Overall, highly satisfied.

Lovely, quiet, very helpful owners and their staff

We camped here for our first time several weeks ago. They are nearby our home, so it makes for a great getaway with very clean campground, a built in pool and a nice playground for kids. We found a site we liked very much and I was so impressed, we booked a week in August over our anniversary and they gave us the site, after moving others around a bit, for a week and a day. There is a $30 lockdown fee which I gladly paid for that site, a very nice feature. I highly recommend this campground. Everyone was very friendly and we had a very nice time. As for the poor reviews? Having lived here for 35 years, we pretty much know all the campgrounds near us - as we lived on Mount Desert Island near Acadia National Park. Now we live off-island, but not too far. Timberland Acres changed hands several years ago, and the new owners have put a lot of heart and soul into the entire park and have made enormous upgrades. Cannot tell you about bathrooms or laundry as we have a 38 ft 5th wheeler and have no need. The WiFi needs boosting, but, hey, it’s camping. We met a few locals during our stay who stay in the campground all summer seasons and rent out their houses to tourists. If locals love it and choose it for a whole summer, that speaks volumes about the work the new owners have done to compete with other campgrounds in the area! Try it, you are very close to the Park and Bar Harbor which no locals visit any longer because of parking fees and park fees. But they are both wonderful places to spend several days exploring. Be sure to visit the backside of the Island as well. That would be Bass Harbor where the Lighthouse is located along with lovely hikes out to Ship Harbor and Wonderland, as well as Seawall. Eat at many dozens of restaurants nearby for the best seafood in the world. Then come back to Timberland Acres, light a fire for a spell, then sleep in a more quiet park than any others in the area!

AMAZING!

The campground is surrounded by beautiful trees. A good location between Ellsworth and Bar Harbor. The two women who run the front office are AMAZING! So sweet and helpful. I spent 5 nights here and would of stayed longer if they weren’t closing for the season. Will absolutely stay here again!!

Great park for seeing Acadia

Close to Acadia NP. Large number of LARGE (100' Plus) pull thru sites. Quite place. Wal Mart, Gas stations, Cell phone stores, Lobster pounds very close by. My son swam in the salt water pool and said he liked it. Roads are paved. Worked out perfectly for us.

20 mins from Acadia

We stayed here for 3 nights at one of the tent sites. Running water, shower and bathrooms and a pool which was nice. This is mostly geared towards RV campers which means more noise and the sites are pretty close together. Other than that, we would definitely stay here again

Acadia

We stayed here 2 nights going to Acadia last summer. No issues, but can’t remember much about it.
