Best RV Parks & Resorts near Norridgewock, ME

People here are so nice an will help u with whatever u need! They deliver fire to ur spot an everything! There’s a store with ice an food an other camping supplies even stuff for trailer repairs! I love this place an definitely would become a long term resident if they had a long term spot available

We decided to stay at Pumpkin Patch because we had friends staying at the campground and wanted to visit them. The park is nice and clean with just a few amenities but just an average campground. This campground caters more to adults and does not have too much for kids to do. Most of the campers were seasonals whose campsites were well-kept and they were quiet. The staff and other campers were very friendly. 

Sites are very clean and the park is well-groomed with maintenance people always mowing or cleaning sites. There is pretty good space between sites so you don’t feel cramped or right on top of your neighbor. Most sites are level and there are long pull thrus so you don’t have to unhitch if you are only staying one night. There is a mix of sun and shade depending on what site you are in. Our Verizon phone got good reception and our hot spot worked well. The campground wi-fi was decent at our site but that depends on where you are in the park and what time of day you are using it. There is a recreation room for rallies or large gatherings, a small outdoor game area, and a new dog exercise area which has water and toys and is long enough for our Labrador retriever to chase a ball. There are two laundry rooms which were very clean when we looked in. The roads in and out and around the park are wide and easy to maneuver around. 

Our site was a full hook-up pull thru which was perfect for our one-night stay. All the hook-ups were well-placed and we did not need extensions to connect. We received about twenty over-the-air channels with our television antenna. Nearby is shopping, a grocery, fuel stations, restaurants and more. 

You are about fifteen minutes to downtown Bangor which has some good restaurants(we like Timber Kitchen and Bar and Blaze), a casino, and a large outdoor concert venue which has big name musical acts throughout the summer. Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are about an hour away and definitely worth a visit. We would stay here again if we were passing thru the area but can’t see that there is enough to do nearby to stay for a season. The price was decent for the area($46+tax/night) for a full hookup site but they also offer discounts for Good Sam/FMCA/military/Passport America and have better rates for weekly/monthly/seasonal stays.

I am not an rv parking lot kind of person so I really like this campground. It looks like the sites are on top of each other online but they r better than most the way they are arranged. We could have chosen lakefront but they were just water and electric and since we were staying 4 days we chose the full hookup in a nicely wooded site. There is a place to put your boat in if you have it, laundry, dock, fishing, camp store and I thought a great playground and field are if u have kids with u and clean restrooms

The Moorings has beautiful ocean front sites( they book up fast). And almost all the other sites have partial ocean views as well. Please note they have upgraded the campground and now ALL sites are full hook up with 50 amp, water and sewer. We stayed here in a 40 foot Motorhome. Many sites (not all) can accomodate bigger rigs. This is a great location from which to explore Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and towns of Belfast, Rockland and Camden.

This area is just north of Falgstaff Lake in Maine along the Dead River. The camping area is at the end of an old logging road that is gravel and highly traveled. This area is also along the Northern Forest Canoe Trail. There are multiple sites, many of which have a backdrop of a large sand pit but there are two sites at the end that are nicely wooded as well as two on the river side of the road before you reach the open pit area. There are two privies available, one on each side of the road. Wooded sites are pretty much bare ground so it's probably pretty messy when it rains.

Sites have picnic tables and large fire rings. The river is a short distance from all sites and depending on the water level, there is often a rocky beach along the shore. You can put in and paddle upstream along the Dead River from here. There is a pretty significant waterfall just down stream of the camping area that is a short hike away.

In my experience, there can be some long term campers here who stay for months at a time. I've seen little tent cities constructed and it's often quite loud. We used it as a quick stop for an evening before putting on the water the next morning. Bring an extra trash bag and pack out some trash, sadly it's abundant.

This is a small privately owned campground located at the confluence of the Kennebec and the Wesserunsett Rivers just a few minutes from downtown Skowhegan. Campers are a mix of seasonals and transients with sites varying from pull-thru, back-in, tent and one rental cabin. 

We had a long pull-thru site that was located under pine trees which provided welcomed shade since the temperatures were in the high 80’s. The first site we were assigned was in the direct sun so we asked to move to a shady site and they were very accommodating. Some of the RV sites are located parallel to the river so your patio is open to the river and you have an unobstructed water view. However, these sites are fairly short and would not accommodate larger RVs. All other sites are pretty close to each other without much privacy between them. RV sites have cable with 70+ channels. There are a handful of tent sites at the far end of the campground set off on their own and right along the river. The only downside is that they are pretty far away from the bathrooms. The restrooms and laundry were spotless and cleaned daily. 

There is a small playground and a nice swimming pool which was clean and had lots of chairs around it for relaxing. There is a nice dock along the river where you can tie up boats and launch a kayak or canoe. One of the nice features is that they offer free use of their canoes/kayaks/peddle boats. You reserve a 2-hour time slot, and they provide you with the paddles and life jackets. There is a game room/arcade for kids to hang out in and there is a pavilion that is open to the public for gathering. One of the downsides is the loud road noise from Route 2. The other thing we didn’t like was that our patio was a mix and sand and dirt which made for a mess in the RV and not a great place for our dog to lay in. We paid$59/night for our full hook-up site which seems a little high for the area, but it was a full hookup site with cable and (pretty poor Wi-Fi). 

Overall, we liked this campground and it was a good three-night stay for us as we were traveling through Maine. Downtown is interesting with restored historic buildings housing antique shops, artisan galleries, and restaurants. There is a grist mill and restaurant located in an old jail that sells a wide variety of grains and other Maine-made products. We especially loved the Bankery which is a bakery located in an old bank. Just outside of town is Bigelow Brewery which we recommend visiting. There are a few nature preserves in the area that offer hiking if you are looking for a nice short walk in the woods.

This is private land that the owner rents to campers.  It is a lovely single camp site with great views and fields. It is relatively close to the road but there is very little traffic and no noise. The space is level.  There is a picnic table, fire ring, full hook ups, and box with an information sheet that includes things to do and places to eat for the surrounding area. The view was expansive and beautiful, with wonderful sunsets. The walking trails that have been cut are lovely, and a great place for a short walk, or to walk with your dog.  The owner met us immediately upon our arrival and was very friendly. The only challenge is we stayed in July, and the horse flys were viscous. They were not by the campsite, but were abundant on the trails, and I literally had to run to get back to the camper to minimize the bites. If you are susceptible to horse fly bites, be aware during the horse fly season. My husband did not get bit.

This area is very rural.  Skowhegan, which is just over 20 minutes away, is the closest town, and has a few restaurants and a nice farmers market.  There are many hiking  and atv trails in the general area.  I would recommend this spot for a weekend in the area, or passing through for the night.

This campground is so-so but the Camden area of Maine is really pretty with a beautiful harbor, lots of paddling opportunities, and good hiking. This campground is fairly small with a few amenities like a swimming pool, clubhouse, volleyball and basketball courts. The pool is pretty small with some chairs scattered about and tables and umbrellas. The roads are gravel with potholes and campsites are grassy or dirt depending on if you are under a tree or a previous campers patio mat killed the grass. Lots of tall pine trees provide shade but also make it a little difficult to navigate the roads. We had to go pretty slow to avoid hitting tree branches. Parking under the pines also meant a lot of sap on our roof which was a bear to remove. 

There are lots of seasonal campers and their sites were pretty tidy. There are a variety of sites from those with no hook-ups to 50 amp full hook-ups and the prices are pretty reasonable for New England, especially in a very popular tourist town. Our site was shady and a pull-thru. Luckily our site was level but some are not very level and would have been a problem for us. It appears the new owners are really trying to upgrade the park and make improvements to roads and sites. Most of the patios are a mix of dirt and grass. There is a$5 pet fee, but it is per pet/stay and not a daily cost. 

Wifi was a service you had to pay for which is almost unheard of in todays campgrounds. Most campgrounds offer free wifi (albeit, with varying degrees of usability) but this one only offered the wifi for a fee. We decided not to shell out the money but since we did not get a strong Verizon signal, internet access was pretty much non-existent. The other problem was that we did not get any over-the-air television channels and they did not have cable. Satellite reception was also a problem because of the trees. It is best to have a portable unit but even then, it could be difficult to get reception. 

This park is in a great location to Camden and nearby towns. We loved taking the ferry to Vinalhaven Island for the day and picking up prepared food at the Market Basket and eating it along the Rockland Harbor waterfront watching the boats come and go. There is great hiking and beautiful views at the nearby Camden Hills State Park.

Truly nice folks who built this campground 39 years ago, still run it. Well maintained and full of nice folks. Mostly rv camping with some tent sites. A lot of seasonal rv occupants. Great for families with children but nice for all folks. Two bath areas and a laundry room. Free baths and inexpensive laundry prices. There must be many atv trails nearby as plenty of campers had theirs up and running. About 12 miles south of a point on the AT so plenty of hiking nearby as well. Lots of planned activities and live entertainment on Saturday night. A warm community environment.

This is a great little private RV park with awesome views (from some sites) and great access to the ocean. The park is conveniently located just a few miles from downtown Belfast which offers plenty to do and see and is one of our favorite coastal Maine towns.  We love shopping at the Co-op, eating pizza at Meanwhile in Belfast, lobster at Young's Lobster Pound, and lunch at Chase's Daily.  Plus, you are just five miles from the cute town of Searsport which houses the wonderful Penobscot Marine Museum and two miles from Moose Point State Park with hiking trails and gorgeous views. 

The park is small but offers a variety of sites depending on if you want oceanfront, oceanview, or a pull-thru.  There is no tenting allowed!  All sites have electric (50 or 30 amp), water, cable and wifi. The park recently added sewer to all sites and a dump station is onsite. The roads and camp sites are gravel with grass patios. Sites are level. All sites have a fire ring and picnic table. Our Verizon 4G phone and Hotspot worked great but we mostly used their free wifi which worked very well.

Park amenities include private ocean access, horseshoes, playground, laundry, showers/bathrooms, free coffee in the morning, free weekend papers delivered to your site, free donuts on Sunday mornings, and a restaurant on-site. The park organizes a lot of group activities including pot lucks, lobster shore dinners, BBQ feast, and cold beverages offered during Friday Happy Hours. The office/store has a great book exchange and an assortment of RV/souvenir items for sale. The laundry has two wash machines/dryers and was clean and tidy.

The parks small size and friendly people make this an enjoyable place to stay. We like the fact that they had social activities (like free happy hour and donuts) that bring people together. The ocean access is great! A short set of stairs takes you down to the water which is great for exploring, launching kayaks, and letting the dog run/swim when the tide is out. The biggest downside for us was the price which was $94/night for a FHU (50 amp) pull-thru on the hill in the front of the park without much in the way of a water view. Premier oceanfront sites are $110/night during high season. Park rules say that you may only have two pets (unless you get prior approval), they must do their business in one small area and are not allowed on most grassy areas throughout the park. We make a consorted effort not to let our dog pee or poop in others yards but we don’t always have control over where she goes and found this park very restrictive.

Enjoyed our stay here! We stayed for 2 nights and thought it was a good deal for a full hookup site! Very pleased with our stay here! We had 2 bars with AT&T as well. The campsites are very close to each other with little privacy but the value outweighs the cons of that.

The majority of campsites are right on the Dead River in a beautiful region in Maine called The Forks. This area is an outdoor paradise with tons of things to do kayaking, white water rafting, hunting, fishing, hiking, and nature viewing. Riverdrivers has a myriad of overnight accommodations including primitive tenting, RV with electric and water (some just 20A and water and the others 20A/30A and water), cabins with electricity and screened in porch, motel rooms, and a rental home open year-round that sleeps 14. 

There is a dump station onsite for RVs. There are picnic tables and fire pits at the camping sites and cabins. Wood is available for purchase at the good price of$10 for a wheelbarrow load. Sites are mostly grass and the road is smooth gravel devoid of any potholes. There are some trees for shade but not many and there is not much privacy between campsites. Obviously, the best sites are right on the water but the majority of those are without hookups. Check out their Facebook page because they offer camping discounts in the past if you mention the add. There are restrooms and showers with 14-hour access and a few port-a-potties scattered about. There is also a dishwashing station. Bathroom facilities were very clean as was the dishwashing station. Horseshoe pits are present but that is pretty much it for amenities, other than the great water view. No online reservation you must call or email them. 

The biggest complaint is the loud road noise from big logging trucks. The campground is located directly off Route 201 in West Forks which makes for easy access into the park (but you get the road noise). Across the street is Berry’s General Store with just about everything you need and is a fun old store to roam around. Just up the road is Hawks Nest Lodge which has a great restaurant with full bar. Their outside seating is great for soaking up the sun and watching the rafters on the river. Head over to Moxie Falls for a short hike into one of Maine’s famous falls.
