    Beautiful convienent

Easy $25 for one night while traveling through west coast to east coast to relocate. We were doing hotel camping every other and this is one we decided on with its convenience to Walmart and many other food places. Ruston is also an adorable little downtown areas to explore and has that heart of Louisiana fill. It’s also close to west Monroe where Duck dynasty hometown so that was a fun plus to visit! We did stay in winter season with rain and cold. We have been tenting and enjoy being endured of all nature has so offer this has beautiful fishing hiking and a friendly camp host who was accommodating. They have wood for sale if needed. Water hookup ,electric hookup, showers bathrooms. Which we chose site 43 right next to the restroom house. I would love to come back when weather is better and we aren’t travel driving lagged to enjoy all it had to offer! You do receive a gate code when in person check in so if you book online see if you have received that too!

Landry Vineyards Grape Escape RV Sites

    Bucket List Stay!

Overview: A Bucket List Stay! Our Harvest Hosts stop at Landry Vineyards in West Monroe, LA, was quiet, relaxing, and memorable. This family-owned vineyard, nestled in rolling hills, offered a peaceful escape. The welcoming staff made us feel right at home, from the first communication to the wine tasting. Campsite& Activities: We stayed at a spacious hookup site with water and electric, offering stunning vineyard views. The peaceful campground was perfect for unwinding. The Saturday evening concert was a highlight, with live music adding a vibrant and memorable touch to our stay (check their calendar for dates). The tasting room’s 6-wine flight from 30 varieties, with a souvenir glass, was a treat. The tasting room staff were incredibly helpful with guiding us through the experience and helping us find places in town. Staff& Experience: Welcoming staff made us feel at home, from check-in to wine tasting. Booking through Harvest Hosts was easy, and the purchase expectation was reasonable—we bought a bottle of wine. Overall: Landry Vineyards was a delightful stopover while passing through West Monroe. The scenic site, lively concert, impressive tasting, and warm hospitality made it a Bucket List Stay. If we pass through again, we will definitely book again!

The Fishing Camp Tackle & RV Park

    Eh...

We stayed here for one night while passing through. It's basically a gravel lot with concrete pads and hook ups behind a gas station and restaurant with what appears to be a good amount of full-timers. That's fine - we don't need anything fancy for one night stays, just a safe place to park with hookups. What bothered us was two things. First, there was a camper at the back of the park with a poor dog in a small fenced in area next to their rig that was left outside the entire time we were there, including overnight when it got cold (28°). The poor thing kept barking every time we would come outside. I felt so bad for that dog. The park's rules (upon confirmation of our reservation) state that pets should always be on a leash and attended to, which was obviously not enforced. It was heartbreaking - the dog was cold and obviously wanted some attention. The other thing we noticed was a ton of black glass on the ground outside our rig. It looked like busted camper glass, spread everywhere. It got tracked into our camper, which I hopefully got all swept out so we don't step on it. There was also no formal check in upon arrival, which was confusing. We went in the gas station and they said there was no need to check in (not a big deal, just a head's up to those considering a stay). The saving graces were the cost ($25/night) and the restaurant which, despite a nearly hour long wait (understandable - it was Friday night), was delicious. We tried boudin for the first time (the eggrolls), and they were heavenly. This park may be better for full timers who don't mind being witness to neglected animals. 🤷‍♀️

    Russell Sage Wildlife Management Area

    Worst WMA Land Ever Visited

This WMA land is the worst that I have ever stayed at. If you stay here and don’t need to leave your vehicle your probably safe. We ended up staying here on our drive from Texas to Alabama and thought it was a great spot on the map to stop as its close to the highway(Historic Highway 80). The location was great due to the proximity to the highway and there was very minimal road noise. Since we got their late at night we were unable to really get a full lay of the land. We pulled in and used the turnaround and setup camp. After an incident that night with our dog rolling in human feces we knew we wouldn’t like the site of the camp in the morning. After we cleaned him(thank goodness we had lots of water and dog shampoo) we went to bed only to hear barking of stray dogs. The next morning we kept our dogs on a tight leash and were in disarray with the amount of garbage and trash around the camping area. Overall don’t stay here unless you absolutely have to. The road in is Gravel and.05 miles from a paved road. Russell Sage WMA is open Year round. There are 1-5 campsites at this location and the maximum RV length is 25 feet. You may stay 14 days at Russell Sage WMA.

    Cheniere Lake Park

    Very pretty and quiet location

Very convenient to I-20. Approximately 3 miles south of the interstate but you feel like you are a world away. Some of the campsites are very pretty overlooking the lake and the cypress trees. The scenery is unique and beautiful. Great if you’re attending a function at the lodge. Literally steps away from the event location. Nice playground for the children. Sheriff’s department is nearby and they patrol frequently so you feel very safe. You can hear the firing range in the distance. All in all a nice experience. Very easy to access I20. Also convenient to a Pilot Travel Center and a propane place both on the right if you take the Well Road exit off the interstate to get here.

    Ouachita RV Park

    Ok for overnight

Nothing fancy, but good for an overnight. Clean and seems safe. Right on I20, so expectable highway noise. Looks to be quite a few long term folks here but RVs are nice. Grassy spots. No tables, just hook ups. Cute playground. While there is a shower chair in the bath house, facilities are not wheelchair/ADA accessible as there is a 4” concrete step to access bathroom. Lots of bugs (gnats and mosquitos) but this IS Louisiana, so that is to be expected. Nice lake next door, looks good for fishing and probably where the biting bugs are coming from, lol. Would stay here again for just one night of passing thru.
