Last minute call and they had opening for us. Great camp site, wonderful bar and food. There is also an outdoor bar area w yummy slushy drinks and games. The pool was fun. We will be back.
Wow - well done, Wisconsin. What a beautiful park to pull into after a long day of driving. Lovely drive in to the park and then to pull up to an immaculate campsite was a treat. Fireflies emerged as we began to setup camp and we watched the sunset over the Missippi before calling it a night. Great…
Beautiful campground right by a stream that empties into a huge lake. You can trout fish, kayak, and hike. Not too far from town
I have been to Backbone a few times, this spot is one of my friends and I’d favorite. There is no through traffic so it’s quiet. Tons of trails, specifically the spot we camped at was right by the trail so we had easy access. The sites are big so you can camp far back and keep the vehicles at the…
We only spent a night at the resort (actually slept in the cave). One thing to know for sure, bring a tarp or tent to cover yourself. We went in March, so with all the runoff from the snow ir was a very wet experience.
I’ve been here twice as a scout so it was a lot of fun to return as an adult…
To start off, Backbone State Park is one of the most gorgeous parks I’ve ever visited. It’s so beautiful, with plenty of challenging and scenic trails and lots of wildlife. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is the campgrounds (we stayed at Six Pines). I’ll go into more detail below.…

Backbone is a very diverse area. There are miles of trails. Is hiking your thing? What about equestrian? Maybe mountain bike trails? You can even take the family for a nice leisurely walk on the easier trails. Exploring is fun at this park because there is so much to see. The Trout stream was busy…

Beautiful, spacious, and quiet camping and state park. The hiking is awesome! We hiked the Bluff Trail which has lots of hills and steepness, skinny trail with some drop offs but it was fun! My daughter was a little nervous during the hike but I felt safe so nothing to worry about. Just take…

Great scenery and views! Fun trails, great beach, lighthouse, boat docks, cabins, caves, and much more. Absolutely loved this place! Had a blast got lots of great pics and memories! Loved the trails but most of all the amazing views/scenery! Fun family oriented park!
We visited in 2018 and the views are breathtaking! The sand caves are cool, lots of unique hiking features. The nature program was great for our son who was 2 at the time.
Wyalusing has all the beauty of two rivers converging, hills and bluffs, trees of all kinds and great hiking trails. The camp grounds are clean and quiet. We had a wonderful fall weekend here.
A beautiful location in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin. Near hiking, biking, fishing attractions. The campground is well groomed with lots of camping spots available. First come First serve with all sites being group sites. A membership is required and covers all the amenities, well worth the…
One of the best state parks we've stayed at. We were on the bluff across the street which is no biggie. Site 124 the highest point there for camping. Restrooms were very clean and no bugs in the first of October.
