Large Sites and a lot to do!

We stayed here for 2 weeks. The lots are huge compared to other campgrounds we have been to. They have a nice gravel spot for you to park your RV or other vehicle on. We have a 25' camper and a F250 and we weren't able to park the truck straight in front of the camper or we would be sticking out in…

  • Really large sites!
  • Beautiful Lake Michigan
  • This is what their fire pit looks like. It has a grate that you can cook on!

Lot of sites

Nice camp site are nice size. Over a 1/3 of the site are walk in, started on 2021. This make it hard to make a reservation for the weekend, most reserved site are book for one night.

Fun for a night.

We arrived 9/13/21. We had site 17 reserved but Betsy at the camp check-in told us there were some other sites available and a bit more secluded, although it was not busy at all. We opted for the sites close to the boat launch, but regretted it as it was very dusty and dry. Campsite offered a fire…

pretty and spacious, great for family gatherings

First off, we didn't realize this was a walk-in campground, the details on the Will county site were vague, and the satellite photo showed a paved road.  The road is a path, so the sites are ADA accessible (two of the four sites are paved as well).
We have a small, motorcycle trailer so we…

  • site #2 seen from the path, site #1 is to the right, in the trees
  • algae and duckweed on the water, at least it didn't smell
  • site # 4, site #3 is also ADA and across path on right

Relaxation at its best

The volunteer who was there to sign us in was wonderful. She was very helpful and very friendly. They had 2 shower houses and I have to say they were not in the greatest shape. One was newer but both of them were pretty dirty and not that appealing. There were lots of camp sites and most of them…

White Oak Campground

Overall a lovely park with a variety to go do. We rented a kayak and canoe for reasonable rates. Our dog was able to enjoy the canoe ride. White Oak has wooded campsites that are semi-private with some more open than others. There are decent pit toilets scattered throughout the campground. There is…

Nice weekend getaway close to home

My family loves coming here! The scenery is beautiful, you can fish, hike, or just relax. You're in the Chicago suburbs so it's easy to get to a store or restaurant if you need. It's close to home for us, so it's perfect for a quick camping trip. Only drawback is that it's a little pricey, but the…

Did tent camping here..

Not worth the money. All R v sites are to close. If it rains your in a mud hole. Water smell and next to the high way.

Ammenitites aplenty

I reserved site B38 for me and my small dog, Bob. It’s a tent only site in the main camping area, only $16 per night after fees. Each site has a fire pit and I think all include a grill surface on the pit. Lots of good trees around for hammocking, especially at B38. Short walk to the shower and…

New

Had Electric and Water hookup. Very roomy and level sites. It's about 9 years old, so no trees. No swimming or fishing. Only hiking trails.

So close and so fun

We really like this place and was about a 30 minute rude from our place in the western burbs. Some of the areas best mountain bike single track is right here. There is fishing kayaking and hiking trails too. Friendly staff and clean bathrooms. It did get a little noisy at night but that sometimes…

Excellent Campground

This is a classic state park campground. It has drinking water, indoor bathrooms, and showers. The showers were chilly, but I could tell it was trying to warm up (maybe a water hookup thing).

The folks at the front were very kind and helpful. My friend and I biked from Chicago on Memorial Day…

Great quiet place

Stayed for 3 nights over 4th of July. Got spot 38. Was a good spot with access to the trails. Quiet and set back. The platform for tents didn't fit our 6 man tent but the 2 man fit perfect. Bathrooms were not to far. Beautiful trees. Not to buggy.
