Bald Mountain Camping Resort

Bald Mountain Camping Resort operates seasonally from April through November, offering full hookup sites accessible by vehicle along with boat-in and walk-in options. The privately managed facility sits on forested terrain with open areas near a creek, providing gravel sites with electric, water, and sewer connections plus amenities like WiFi and shower facilities.

Sites cluster around a private lake where catch-and-release fishing draws regular visitors. Bryan D. notes his spot "was by a creek which was so soothing to listen to." Several campers mention the proximity of sites, particularly the lakefront locations that fill quickly during peak season. Mountain views extend toward Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest point, visible from various spots throughout the campground.

The resort includes miniature golf, paddle boat rentals, two playgrounds, and a game room. A covered footbridge spans the lake, connecting to hiking trails that wind through the surrounding forest. Basketball courts, shuffleboard, and a baseball field occupy the open terrain areas. Most activities require small additional fees beyond the camping rate, including paddle boat use and mini golf access.

Road access proves straightforward for RVs, though some reviewers note the gravel sites pack closely together with minimal separation between units. Mike G. observes "everything is clean and well maintained" while mentioning "there are a lot of rules" regarding lake use and equipment restrictions. Cell service reaches most areas of the campground.

The facility maintains restrooms and shower houses, though summer heat can make these buildings uncomfortable during peak season. For those exploring the region, camping near Hiawassee provides access to additional mountain recreation within 30 minutes. Reservations help secure preferred sites, especially those with water views during the main camping season.

Bald Mountain RV Resort

Nice place. Very friendly staff! Site was well maintained and level. Mountain Views and several streams, fishing and putt putt. The only shortfall was the bathrooms which were really hot. But it’s full hookups so….

Very nice campground

We stayed in Lakefront Cabin C09 across from the lake. The campground was very quiet with no road noises and such, and we had a beautiful view of the mountains surrounding the campground. There is firewood available onsite very reasonably priced, and the cabins came with a grill and firepit. There is a ball field onsite, miniature golf, a game room and a lake with paddle boats. There are multiple hiking trails, a ropes course and rafting available nearby in less than 30 minutes. And, of course, Helen is not far if that's your thing.

The one downside is that when they advertise that the lakeside cabins sleep 4, that might be a bit charitable. The cabins (at least ours) have 1 double bed and persons 3 & 4 would have to sleep on a fold out futon. Also, you must bring ALL your own linens (towels, bedding, and so forth.)

Overall, a lovely place. We would stay there again.

Very Nice

Beautiful campground. Everything is clean and well maintained. Bathrooms are kept nice and clean. Campsites are gravel with full hook ups and a campfire ring. Wifi most anywhere in the park is great. My only complaint would be there are a lot of rules. In the lake they have you can only use their paddle boats and not your own. And there is a small fee to do it. Some other amenities like mini golf you also have to pay extra for.

Great for families!

A lot of things to do here in the park. Pool is nice! Staff is very nice! Lots are real nice. A creek runs through the campground and is wonderful to sit by. Full hookups. Wi-Fi is a bit weak in places so you are using your phone mostly. We will come back.

Great riverside spots

Really enjoyed our riverside spot at Bald Mountain Resort. Staff was all super friendly and very knowledgeable of local areas to visit. Full hookups, cable and WiFi were nice amenities. Pet friendly with multiple dog walk areas. Lots of fun stuff for the kids to do.

Beautiful Area of GA.

We spent Memorial Day weekend here. we had a pull through site on the pond. Sites are VERY close together, all gravel with no grass between rigs. Full hook-ups. Cable and not very good WiFi. Our kids enjoyed the two playgrounds and the bouncy house. Lots of space for them to ride their bikes. looks like some full timers are living their.

Nice place

This is a beautiful part of the country, and this campsite is a great way to explore it.

I especially love visiting in the fall when the leaves are changing colors! The facilities are nice, I would recommend it.

Good, clean, fun.

We tent camped here for two nights. The park is very well maintained and there is lots to do. For a small fee you can play mini golf or rent a paddle boat or kayak for use in the private lake. There are two playgrounds, two basketball goals, a small baseball field, a pool, a shuffleboard court and a game room. A gazebo sits on the edge of the lake and a covered footbridge allows you to walk across the lake and maybe see some fish. Catch and release fishing is allowed. The mountains are beautiful and some spots have a good view of Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. It's a good place to unwind and be outside. The campground is well maintained and the owners are very nice.
