Mountain View Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Owners PJ and Louie set the tone at Mountain View Campground, a privately run, 31-site property outside Hiawassee, Georgia, where hosts are known to help back rigs into position and photograph guests for a wall of past visitors. Sites run full hookup with electric, water, and sewer connections, and the campground accommodates rigs up to 50 feet. Sites are roomy but a few reviewers note they can feel closer together than expected, so campers with wider setups should factor that in when booking.

Cell service is limited here. That said, multiple reviewers flag the WiFi as fast and reliable, which offsets the signal gap for most stays. The terrain is open, with sightlines toward the surrounding mountains, and a washer and dryer on site adds a practical convenience for longer trips. The campground sits near a lake and within about ten minutes of a small town with grocery and hardware options. Campers researching campgrounds around Hiawassee will find this one consistently noted for cleanliness and upkeep across multiple visits and seasons.

"Clean and well maintained with great views and community activities," notes Tim P., and that sentiment runs through most of the reviews here. Rates fall between $45 and $48 per night, reservations are available, and pets are welcome. Campers who prefer a public-land setting or more space between sites might consider River Bend Campground about a mile to the west as an alternative.

Such an amazing place

So first of all, the hosts PJ and Louie are AMAZING! They treat you like you are part of their family. We absolutely loved staying here and wished that we had booked to stay longer! The Mountain View is beautiful and there’s a small town 10 minutes away if you need groceries or a quick stop at the hardware store. The camp Site is super clean and well maintained. There’s a washer and dryer on site as well that came in handy!

Awesome stay!

This place was amazing find! Close to Helen, which is a great time. My 40ft Toy Hauler had no problem fitting in. There is hardly any cell phone reception but the Wi-Fi was incredibly fast!

Su a well kept campground!

A great little private campground in a beautiful area. The owners are so nice and the campground is about the cleanest and most well maintained we have been to. The sites can be a little tighter than we like or are used to, but worth it for the quality.

Magnificent doesn’t give it justice.

You could not ask for the two nicest people who own the campground. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and to make sure your happy.

They even take your picture at the end of your visit so they can post it on their wall of campers who have visited them.

They also have a passport America discount.

It is so relaxing and they create an environment where you get to know your fellow campers .

There is a reason they are number one on Campendium.

These are very old pics... the campground has since (fall of 2019)been up-dated tremendously! New electric, new water, new WIFI, new roofs, new Gathering Room with ping pong, comfy couch, puzzle station, new dog park, etc., etc., etc... Still the same super friendly family feel though! :)
