The Last Resort RV Park & Campground

Beautiful views and a relaxing environment.

The Last Resort is a lovely RV Park and campground on the Blanco River off Highway 84 between Chama, New Mexico and Pagosa Springs, Colorado. There are full RV hook ups in the loop and partial hook up by the river. The Bunk House is a small cabin with a queen bed and electricity. Many great tent camping sites. There is a nice Bathhouse with a full kitchen, bathrooms with showers and a coin operated washer/dryer. They are open year round, free wifi and pets welcome. There is a small store with ice, sodas, snacks, fishing tackle, RV supplies, and toiletries.

This is our 3rd summer at the Last Resort. It's a very laid back place with 2 playgrounds and plenty of activities for kids - horse shoes, volleyball, tether ball, etc. They have a nice 4th of July celebration, potluck dinners and camp fires. There are often horses (and a goat) on the property and plenty of space to take a nice walk. This year, we saw a lot of Canada geese and there are also chickens and ducks. We really love watching the many hummingbirds and hanging out by the river. Lots of campers like to fish or float down the river on inner tubes.

Well maintained, beautiful and friendly hosts make for a wonderful place to stay.

    Ruins Road RV Park

    Quiet

We are traveling with a young, very timid dog so asked for a large space. She gave us an end space with no shade and no grass; however, we have a nice view of the trees along the Animas River and are a short distance from the river. Lots of long term RVs, but their spaces are well maintained. Good gravel throughout the RV Park, nice level spaces. They take cash or check only. No tables, fire rings, restrooms/showers, but full hookups. Easy access, and we had no issues with road noise.

    Great people great spot

This is both my first review, but also my first ever RV trip. This is a simple campground, no bathrooms or showers, but they do have full laundry facilities. Westerly is a small 24 spot full hook up RV park on the north end of Durango Colorado. Why did I give it 5 stars? The hosts are wonderful people who are friendly, welcoming and helpful. They maintain the property and it’s impeccable. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit, there is a dog run and across the street is the newly remodeled Durango Hot Springs. Worth a night or a full week visit.

    Oasis RV Resort and Cottages

Information is outdated, this campground is no longer operated by KOA!!!

It's OASIS RV Resort & Cottages now, as you can see on Google Maps: https://www.myrvoasis.com

We've just stayed there and wouldn't go back. The location is very close to Durango but right off the highway so it's noisy. It was a noisy experience in general with large families partying every night (apparently they got warned by the hosts but that only helped one night), and loud music blasting in the washrooms 24/7. Some of the tent sites are mixed use, they come with electricity but the don't have a nice level gravel pad for the tent. Hosts seemed nice, facilities were very clean. Paper towels in the washrooms would be nice, or even better a hand free kickstand to open the door in times of Corona!

    Great place. Beautiful. Quiet. Friendly.

Fantastic RV park with full hookups, good Wi-Fi, two bars of Verizon, beautiful location, and excellent management. Nice amenities that are well maintained. Daily trash pickup at every site. I’m estimating that about 30% of the sites are occupied by guests that stay for six months every year and return each season. These people are nice, have very nice rigs, and even personally landscape their areas to look very nice. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Great restaurant about five miles down the road and several places nearby to get necessities including a small onsite store. A+++!

    Large spaces

This is an RV Park with many RV Spaces, tent sites, and some cabins for rent. The RV sites are easy to get into, relatively level, and have tables and grill/fire pits. There is gravel on the spaces- although they could add more gravel. Nice dog park divided into two areas so your dogs don’t have to co-mingle. There is a clean, reasonably priced laundry room and a swimming pool. The spaces are nice and wide and many have large trees for nice shade, but some don’t and have full sun. There are multiple tent sites, with tables and grills as well; along with a site for large tenting groups.

    All you need

We arrived at East Fork late in the evening, just in time to catch a beautiful sunset. Each site is equipped with RV hookups, picnic tables and a small grill - There are 2 restrooms on either side of the grounds as well. From our site (#11) you could hear the gushing river down below. The host was really nice and led us to a nearby waterfall and overlook the next morning as well! San Juan NF is gorgeous!!

San Juan McGee Park RV Camping

Great for RV stopovers but that's it

We were trying to find something before the sun went down and stopped here, but ended up moving on as they didn't have tent sites that we were interested in and we wanted a bit more seclusion. I was able to grab some info though. This campground is sort of between building of the fairgrounds.

About the park: This is a large RV park along the San Juan River between Farmington and Bloomfield. There are over 100 dry camping sites. 574 RV spaces with electric and water hookups. The sites don't have tables or fires pits. Each of these sites is 21’ by 41’. There is a dump station on site.  There are a lot of sites on the river.

    Security patrols the area frequently.

Lots of activities happening at the fair and close to town.

Showers and restrooms are by fair buildings so they are a little walk away from the sites, hence the "prefect for RV's".

    Larger RV Park

This is a larger RV Park. They provide full hookups, spaces for tent camping, and some small cottages. I have not used their restrooms, but the laundry is clean and reasonably priced. Many of the spaces are pretty close together, but we’ve had worse! They have nice picnic tables and fire pits. There is a creek that runs behind the park and the spaces along this creek cost more. We stayed in Space 20; which is supposed to have the creek behind it (so we paid more), but there’s a bunch of electrical boxes there so you can’t see it or access it and there’s also a huge manhole sticking up in our space! So don’t take Space 20 unless you are desperate! That is the reason for my 4 rating. The grass is sparse, but there are big grassy areas throughout the park. Some of the spaces have the shade of large trees. I would stay here again, but would avoid #20.

Blue Spruce RV Park & Cabins

    Not my favorite

Good location, excellent WiFi, good staff! Full hookups and trees/ shade. Lots of options to stay—cabins, RVs, etc.

After having traveled to many RV parks over the past few months there were some things I really disliked. People were walking through our site constantly and in droves.. between our rig and tow vehicle, in front of our RV door, behind our rv with all our hookups and equipment. I hated the lack of privacy and the fear that folks would step on our hooks ups, etc. even when I was outside stretching and doing yoga, folks piled on through, it was uncomfortable and a very weird culture. We kept asking folks to walk around, but it literally happened every few minutes with adults, children, groups.. we eventually gave up. That weird taboo-ish rv culture continued in many aspects throughout our stay.

The bathrooms had two shower stalls and showers for each sex—nothing for non-binary folks. This did not meet the needs of the entire camp ground—and they were closed as the office was closed (all night into the morning). Bathrooms are not ADA accessible nor for anyone who struggles with stairs.

We used laundry facilities which were nice and refilled on propane. Both easy processes!

Each site had a fire ring, picnic table and concrete slab. No Verizon service at all.

A gorgeous nearby hike, see videos!

    Great tent spots on grass

We motorcycle camp and use tents every night. We've been to this campground several times because it is so perfect for us. They are open late until 8pm. Besides full hook up sites, they have a large grass area that is lush and flat. It's perfect to pitch a tent or of dust, mud or rocks. Their bathrooms and showers are clean and welcome after a long day of riding. We had the train come through just feet from where we camped.

    Coyote Outfitters

    A gem!

Coyote Outfitters is located between Mancos and Hesparus, and about a 35 minute drive to/from Durango. Owned and operated by Amy and Donnie Moffat, they offer 3 RV sites at their little campground, located up the road from their cabins location on County Rd 116. The sites are back in, level and have full hook ups, plus a beautiful mountain view in one direction and open fields as far as one can see in the other direction. The peace and quiet here is truly awesome, as are the night skies.

A short walk down the quiet country road and there is a first class bathhouse that looks more like a rustic spa! No detail has been forgotten.

Amy and Donnie are wonderful hosts and it's clear they take pride in their business. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Great RV Park

Joined the family down in Chama, NM for a fun 4-day, 3-night stay at this RV park. Good size RV park with all the amenities you need to camp with your RV, Tent or rent a cabin. Friendly staff and clean restrooms and showers. The owners have a spot right at the park and are very nice. Rio Chama river runs right next to the park so you can fish or wade through the creek. We have a roof top tent so we reserved a back in RV site. We were parked right next to the power sub-stations so at night we heard buzzing from the electrical boxes. The owner allowed us to move to the tent sites so that solved that issue. We didn't need any of the hookups so no biggie. They had no problem with us moving there. No bugs and the temperature was reasonable in the 80s and cooled down to 60-55 at night. Pack rain gear if you're camping in July/Aug because the monsoon flows up with some pretty good t-storms. Chama is a nice little town that draws train riders from all over to ride The Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad into Colorado.

Amenities Not Available to All Campers

These are full hook-up sites. Amenities include playground, pool, laundry, bathrooms, and shower. We were notified before hand that we could not hook up to water due to freezing temperatures. (It is November.) When we arrived we discovered the bathrooms/showers were only open 8am-8pm. An inconvenience for us, but tolerable for the last two nights of our journey. However, the men’s room was often locked even during the “open” hours, which was especially frustrating for my husband and son. We later discovered many other campers had the code to the bathrooms which they could use any time of day or night. Ultimately, this issue was more than inconvenient, it was insulting that some campers were not allowed to use the bathrooms. We will not stay here again.

    VERY CLEAN PARK

I stayed here because It was closest to downtown Durango and I was bushed and ready for sleep. After staying 14 days in the backwoods, it was nice to get shower in an actual building.... but I must admit, after paying nothing to park and stay in the woods for 14 days, it hurt my feelings to pay $75 for one night here.

On the down side, it is an Upscale RV park that if your not in a prevost bus, you are out of place. The whole time I was putting up, I was getting funny looks for my popup a frame trailer. Either way, they were nice people in the office/restaurant and have a nice rv park. Little too much $$ for my pocket book.

    Nice RV Park

We grow tired on boondocking and enjoy a nice RV Park sometimes. This RV Park is nicely designed to give you privacy from your neighbors with bushes and trees planted between sites. No grass at the sites, but lots of grass all around. The laundry is located beside the pool - you can swim while waiting for our laundry. However, there is no way to drive to the laundry door; it’s quite a walk carrying your clothes. There are picnic tables and small grills at each site. There’s a small dog park; and, of course the casino nearby for entertainment and dinner out. All sites are asphalt with concrete pads for the tables. The sites are level

Willow Creek Campground- Full Hookups — Heron Lake State Park

    Peaceful getaway

We stayed here over the Easter Holiday. We were on Lot 2 in the Willow creek section. For $14, we had f/u hook-ups. I think Lot 1 & 2 are the only lots with full hook ups. I didn't use the facilities, so I can comment on those. Our campsite was big enough for our rig and a tent. We had picnic table (made of concrete, so you can move it) Firepit (don't know if they sell wood, because we couldn't find anyone working or a camp host) We basically had the park to ourselves. We did take a couple of hikes. One was to the lake, which was sadly almost empty. There was very spotty Verizon cell phone and dish satellite. There is not much of a town, so make sure you're fueled up and have all your camping provisions. I would like to try and stay here again, maybe in the summer. Elevations are up there 7000 ft, so I think it would be nice and cool.

One of our favorites in CO!

This RV park was amazing! We usually stay in State parks and national campgrounds but this private RV park is the best of both worlds. Friendly staff, ample Laundry facilities, spacious sites (premium and above), 2 acres dog park, restaurant onsite and just a wonderful basecamp for Durango and Silverton. We had technical issues and they were very accommodating plus they have an RV tech on-site. Highly recommend .

    Lovely grounds, but...

The grounds are really lovely, but the spaces are super close together. We could not sit outside unless we wanted to be 5 feet from the sewer hose on the trailer next to us. There are spaces with room and a view of the river, but the vast majority did not. You can hear Hwy 160 very clearly, so we ran the A/C fan to drown out the noise.

Due to COVID restrictions, the bathrooms and showers were closed, so I can't comment on them.

This RV park is the perfect location for us on our trips to and from CA from Colorado, but at over $55 a night, we may see what else we can find I. The general area.

Pagosa Cool Pines RV park is centrally located in Pagosa Springs Colorado. It's a small very well kept park with less then 30 spots. No tents or popup campers allowed.  Meet with the owner and he shared with me that the cell sevice and wifi were great and that he provides 40 channels of cable. Daily RV rental is in the mid $50s. It was a beautiful park was the owner aloud me to drive through.  Some hiking/walking trails on property.

    Average RV Park

Spaces are fairly close together and lots of people as one would expect at an RV park. It is along the Chama River and some decent shade if your space is in the cottonwoods. We stayed here due to all the NM National Forests being closed due to fire danger.

    Very accommodating

We had to have a couple tires replaced on our RV and not only were they able to fix us up with new tires at their Chevron Station, but she was able to find a space in their RV Park for a couple of nights. It wasn’t a great space, but it was fine. There are some nice large trees, grass in some areas, but not for our space. Although our fellow RVers weren’t real close, we were close to the shower facilities and there were lots of small campers using those giving us very little privacy. We are traveling with a very timid dog making it more difficult for us. We did not use the restrooms so I cannot comment on those. About every space has a picnic table but no fire pits. Somewhere in this distance there was a dog that barked almost continuously during the day, but I don’t think it was in the RV Park. Their prices are very reasonable and I would stay here again.
