Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bonelli Bluffs

    Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

    Pechanga RV Resort

This Is A Resort With All Amenities

I spent a few nights using my Passport America discount at Pechanga RV Resort. I really liked it there. This is now one of my favorite RV resorts in California except for the showers. It is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that The park itself is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that is fenced in with gazebo, and picnic tables. First of all, it is part of the Casino with entertainment and restaurants. This casino reminds me of the Vegas casinos and now is under construction to make it a real Vegas Style Resort. It’s going to be finished sometimes in 2017.

The RV resort itself has a nice heated pool, Jacuzzi, ping pong table. They also have a golf club which could be important for some. One thing I hated is the showers. The RV resort shower has a timer set to 25 seconds and the showerhead is not able to stand upright. So you basically have to hold the shower in one hand and keep pressing the timer every 25 seconds. It’s December, it’s cold in the shower, especially because the water keeps shutting off. You end up standing soaking wet putting soap on yourself in the cold.

I wonder if the hotel rooms have timer on the showers as well. The person who came up with this idea should take showers in there each night. It pet-friendly resort, they also have an area for dogs. If you heading to the casino, they have a shuttle service 24/7 which picks ups from and drop-offs to and from your space. You have to call a number and they are there to pick you up in minutes.

About the WiFi! It’s the best WiFi ever in any parks I’ve so far visited! I wasn’t even close to the main building and had a great reception. I am able to use my Roku to watch Netflix and can use my laptop as well for work. I didn’t even need my Sprint or Verizon, but both work fine. Across the street, there is a 2-mile bike/walk trail. Using this and riding around the nice neighborhoods it was a fun way to get some exercise.

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

Paradise By The Sea RV Resort

    Amazing RV Resort Near Beach

A nicely appointed RV resort in downtown Oceanside with an awesome staff. Pull-through and back-in, full hookup spots available. Cable, wi-fi, a clubhouse with TV and PlayStation for the kids, pool table, games to check out, and a small swimming pool and hot tub. There are also outdoor community areas with ping-pong, bean-bag toss, grills, and other activities.

The resort is only a 5- minute walk to the beach and not far from Oceanside restaurants and shops. While it’s a tad spendy, you really do get a lot for your money with a great near beach location.

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

Guide to Trabuco Canyon

Trabuco Canyon RV facilities provide year-round camping options with temperatures averaging 60-80°F during summer months and 40-60°F in winter. The area sits at approximately 1,700 feet elevation within the Santa Ana Mountains, creating varied terrain for campers. Seasonal considerations affect site availability and access conditions throughout the Trabuco Canyon region.

What to do

Fishing access: Launch Pointe Recreation Destination offers shoreline fishing opportunities, though lake conditions vary seasonally. According to one camper, "A little something for every type of camping. Cabins, paved pull through & natural dirt & grass. Friendly staff to check us in gates close at 10:pm your provided with a security gate code to get back in if your out late... fishing for catfish in the little lake which is shaded with trees and plenty of tables to picnic by the lake."

Water activities: Newport Dunes RV Resort maintains a protected swimming area and equipment rentals. "They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach. There are fantastic running/bike trails along the Back Bay," notes one visitor.

Hiking trails: Trails near Trabuco Canyon connect to larger regional systems. The Waterfront RV Park in Huntington Beach provides access to coastal paths. "We rode bikes along the bike path through Huntington, and went for daily walks as well. The site itself is fairly tight. The full hookups were nice and welcomed. We stayed within our area no problem," explains one reviewer.

What campers like

Family amenities: Launch Pointe Recreation Destination offers multiple recreational facilities. "This campground has a pool, splash pad, park, dog park and access to the lake. They also have a band on Saturday nights," reports one camper, though noting "they strictly enforce quiet time at 10pm."

Security measures: Most parks near Trabuco Canyon maintain controlled access systems. One Rancho Jurupa visitor mentioned, "Great sense of community and great placement of the gates for safety purposes. Lots of food spots within 10 minutes. Spaces are one of the cleanest I seen. Ranger is on constant patrol."

Outdoor cooking: Fire regulations vary by location and season in rv parks near Trabuco Canyon. A Rancho Jurupa camper noted the social atmosphere: "Neighbors were nice, cute set ups with twinkle lights and people enjoying outdoor fire pits. Campers were playing music, laughter echoes through camp ground but nothing too loud and all quiet later."

What you should know

Site selection variations: At Rancho Jurupa RV Park, different campground sections offer varied amenities. A camper noted, "Cottonwood is for the true RV'ers. Lakeside is more for tent camping. Nice park for family camping."

Urban proximity: Many parks sit within urban or suburban areas despite natural settings. A Canyon RV Park visitor observed, "Campground is well-organized, with cabins, RV spots, a youth area, tent spots and a ropes course. A pool, flushable toilets and hot showers are available to all campers for free. The site is bordered by highways on both sides, and they create noise day and night."

Seasonal water conditions: Several rv campgrounds near Trabuco Canyon experience water quality fluctuations. A Waterfront RV Park guest warned: "Located in Huntington Beach California. This site is right across the street from the beach. Be careful and aware when staying here. My husband and I had our mountain bikes stolen when sleeping."

Tips for camping with families

Activity planning: Canyon RV Park offers structured recreation options. "Been passing this exit on the 91 freeway for 25 years and had no idea canyon Rv park was tucked in between corona and yorba linda. I was quite amazed with the tidy facilities and was very peaceful," reports one visitor.

Group accommodations: Some parks offer designated group camping areas. A Rancho Jurupa visitor shared: "Took Girl Scouts here for group camping. Rocky and sand. The family camping was fine! Girls used Porta Potties. I'm hoping they have finished construction on something better since then. However, there are some great kid friendly activities."

Temperature planning: Summer temps can reach 90°F+ in the Trabuco Canyon area, making water access important. A Launch Pointe camper mentioned: "Spent Spring break here with the family. Amenities are very good for young kids. Canopy Court area has easy and close access to the splash pad, the playground, a large grass area, and even the pool."

Tips from RVers

Space requirements: Thousand Trails Wilderness Lakes RV Resort has varied electrical hookup availability. One RVer noted, "They don't have enough 50amp sites and not all of them are always working. This park is first come / first served and they don't prohibit a 30amp rig from taking a 50amp site, so you can see the problem."

Back-in considerations: Many rv parks around Trabuco Canyon require careful maneuvering. A Rancho Jurupa visitor emphasized, "Great park. It may not seem nice when you are passing through town to get in, but once you enter the gates it's beautiful. Large concrete pads, easy backing in and hooking up. Lots of grass, great place to camp in groups."

Site measurements: Length restrictions apply at many area campgrounds. A visitor at Waterfront RV Park advised: "If I were again to come, I would stay in a site in the 84-89 numbers, and the sites 26-36 are HUGE. We stayed in site number 43 in our 29 foot Class A. It was just fine."
