    South Carlsbad State Beach Campground

One of the best in SoCal

This is one of our go to campgrounds for our camping trips in SoCal.  Beautiful ocean views!  Next to Coast Hwy which is busy but not totally annoying.  Stores down the road for any necessities.  Beach is accessible by stairs--nothing at beach level.  Basic and RV hook-up sites.

    Nice weekend get away

This campground is part of the “Thousand Trails” RV time share co-op. We are non-members and lined up our weekend stay a few weeks in advance. If we didn’t get reservations in advance there was no chance of getting a spot. All 500+ sites were booked solid (late April - early May). We live in Orange County and tried this spot for a quick out of town trip. We didn’t hit the road till late., so We showed up at dusk. The major downside to this park is they don’t assign any of the sites. It’s based off a “First come, first serve” the problem with showing up late is we spent 45mins driving around this large RV park trying to find and open site. We ended up in the sites that were electrical only, all of the other 495 sites are full hook ups.

The sites are large and will fit most large 5th wheels and diesel pusher motor homes. Some sites have 50 amp but not all.

Two pools, club house, general store (closed b/c of covid) tons of mature trees for shade. BBQ stations at most sites, tons of water foul playing around and honking all night long.

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

    Pechanga RV Resort

This Is A Resort With All Amenities

I spent a few nights using my Passport America discount at Pechanga RV Resort. I really liked it there. This is now one of my favorite RV resorts in California except for the showers. It is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that The park itself is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that is fenced in with gazebo, and picnic tables. First of all, it is part of the Casino with entertainment and restaurants. This casino reminds me of the Vegas casinos and now is under construction to make it a real Vegas Style Resort. It’s going to be finished sometimes in 2017.

The RV resort itself has a nice heated pool, Jacuzzi, ping pong table. They also have a golf club which could be important for some. One thing I hated is the showers. The RV resort shower has a timer set to 25 seconds and the showerhead is not able to stand upright. So you basically have to hold the shower in one hand and keep pressing the timer every 25 seconds. It’s December, it’s cold in the shower, especially because the water keeps shutting off. You end up standing soaking wet putting soap on yourself in the cold.

I wonder if the hotel rooms have timer on the showers as well. The person who came up with this idea should take showers in there each night. It pet-friendly resort, they also have an area for dogs. If you heading to the casino, they have a shuttle service 24/7 which picks ups from and drop-offs to and from your space. You have to call a number and they are there to pick you up in minutes.

About the WiFi! It’s the best WiFi ever in any parks I’ve so far visited! I wasn’t even close to the main building and had a great reception. I am able to use my Roku to watch Netflix and can use my laptop as well for work. I didn’t even need my Sprint or Verizon, but both work fine. Across the street, there is a 2-mile bike/walk trail. Using this and riding around the nice neighborhoods it was a fun way to get some exercise.

    Back Bay Luxury

My favorite RV resort. Located in the back bay of Newport Harbor ND has it all. This place is super clean and super accomodating. They have cottages for rent if needed and you can have up to 1 tent on an RV spot. Bike trails for the kids and Balboa Island is just right down the way. Expensive but well worth it.

Paradise By The Sea RV Resort

    Amazing RV Resort Near Beach

A nicely appointed RV resort in downtown Oceanside with an awesome staff. Pull-through and back-in, full hookup spots available. Cable, wi-fi, a clubhouse with TV and PlayStation for the kids, pool table, games to check out, and a small swimming pool and hot tub. There are also outdoor community areas with ping-pong, bean-bag toss, grills, and other activities.

The resort is only a 5- minute walk to the beach and not far from Oceanside restaurants and shops. While it’s a tad spendy, you really do get a lot for your money with a great near beach location.

    Seabreeze At Seal Beach

Sea Breeze at Seal Beach: The Perfect RV Resort for a Safe, Relaxing and Enjoyable Stay Near the Ocean

Sure, here's the review of Sea Breeze at Seal Beach:

I recently stayed at Sea Breeze at Seal Beach and I must say, it's my favorite RV resort on a military installation. The security is tight, as it should be, which made me feel safe and secure during my stay.

The campground itself is very nice, well-kept, and has large spaces for RVs. It was also surprisingly quiet, which allowed for a relaxing stay. I will definitely stay here again and look forward to my next visit.

One of the best things about Sea Breeze is its location. There are plenty of restaurants close by, as well as the beach. It's a great spot to stay if you want to be close to the water and enjoy the ocean breeze.

Overall, I would highly recommend Sea Breeze at Seal Beach to anyone looking for a great RV resort. It has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and the location can't be beat. Whether you're traveling alone or with family and friends, this is a great option for a safe and relaxing vacation.

Even with bad weather, Escondido RV Resort shines

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Escondido RV Resort and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience. Michael's friendly customer service and professionalism truly stood out, making our stay all the more enjoyable.

Despite facing challenging weather conditions with heavy rain and hail from an atmospheric river, everything continued to function seamlessly- from the electric hookups to the water supply.

The drainage system at Escondido RV Resort was impeccable, preventing any issues with mudslides even in such extreme weather.

The site itself is simply stunning, nestled in a peaceful and beautiful location that provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The resort's prime location added to the overall charm, allowing easy access to nearby attractions while still offering a quiet and serene atmosphere.

Overall, I highly recommend Escondido RV Resort for a memorable and hassle-free vacation. The combination of exceptional customer service, reliable facilities, and serene surroundings make it a top choice for any RV enthusiast. Thank you to Michael and the entire team for a wonderful stay!

Best Deal in SoCal for more than just the price!!

To set the scene for you, I was in desprate need of a new home for myself, my Great Dane Laya and my 35 foot, 1969 Buffalo Bus Conversion when I found this little "Diamond in the rough" campground. You see, 90% of campgrounds and RV Parks in SoCal have a 10 to 15 year old limit to help keep out the trashy trailers and the riff-raff that usually inhabits them. (I know how that sounded and I dont care cause the truth hurts) And even though my Coach is beautiful, she is still 50+ years old and so far no one has been willing to break that rule for us. So after calling what seemed like 50 places, I phoned this one and was greeted by the onsite assistant manager named Joe. He told me that they limit the number of long-term wimter renters to 16 and only had a couple spots left. He then went over the park ammenities, and also listed off what there was to do in the area, and when he got to the price I was blown away. He stated their daily rate was $33, and the monthly rent was only $610, and to move in all that was due was the 1st months rent and it was pro-rated! I was currently paying $70+ per day at the RV Park at Pudding Stone lake where the staff are rude, heartless Natzi's that act like they own the park! TBC....

    Desert Camping

This is a fairly nice place to camp. I would avoid camping here during the summer since it does get very hot. It is closed during the winter months, but you can still catch some cooler weather when it first opens during the season.

There is not much for shade in the areas for RV/Trailer camping.

Not much to do here other than hiking and kicking back. The Pacific Crest Trail passes nearby.

It is away from the populated cities, but not far from them. It still gives you a sense of seclusion.

There is water and electricity hookups, along with a dump station and separate tent camp spaces.

    Just ok overall

Needed somewhere fairly close to home to take my new to us motorhome. Sites were decent size but fairly close together so don’t expect a lot of privacy. Sites interspersed among long term residents. Hookups water and electric at each site. Some shade, trails to riverbed currently mostly dry and Bonita falls about 25 minute walk over river rock. Fire rings available to rent for $5. The biggest issue I had was our electric went out to our loop at about 7:30pm…luckily we are self contained…it still had not been restored when we left the next day at noonish. The lights to the office area and restrooms was still on (thankfully) but not the camp sites.

    Great campground

This is a great campground with nearby amenities. You will hear the helicopter from time to time since the helipad is on the nearby hilltop. Can get a bit dusty. On Base Safety

Full hookup in both parks, Legacy (gravel for smaller RVs) and Sunset (cement spots with extra spot for a car). Legacy is a no thrills gated gravel parking lot that holds maybe 20 smaller RVs. Conveniently located next to the laundry and grill (the salmon is great!). Sunset is on the other side of the base down a bumpy gravel road that leads a to a hidden yet well kept RV Park butted up to a civilian baseball field. Clean and level but lots of gnats. For my very first RV experience, this was pretty awesome! Billeting staff was very nice and helpful. Definitely recommend for military and vets!

I would not ever call this a resort. It is a campground. The road to the office was full of huge potholes, I’ve heard that they are patching it each year, but it needs a major upgrade. It is hard to maneuver your RV around the potholes. The whole park is run-down but this doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy my stay!

I visited in December, the weather was perfect. It was in the’70s all day. They have accepted my Passport America discount for one night and my Good Sam discount for the other night I’ve spent here. The sites are pretty large, gravel but not level. You better bring your leveling blocks.

Why do I like this place? There is a lot to do here. Even though the pools are not heated, the pool area is closed for the winter; in the summer this place is fantastic for families. It is a huge park, lots of open space, kids are freely roaming around everywhere. There is mini-golf, ping pong, pickleball, volleyball, basketball courts. For the summer there is a water slide separate from the pool area. I found a 1.5-mile-long nature trail, which was very nice, but there are other hiking and biking opportunities in the area. You can walk down to the lake for example. The lake is farther down. Even though I like taking my showers in RV resort showers, this one was so run down that I’ve decided to take it in my small RV. I didn’t like the looks. There is a convenience store by the main building, where you can buy some basic camping items and snacks. I saw a cafe attached to a nice outdoor area with a stage but it wasn’t open. They are making it ready for the upcoming New Years’ Eve party. Who knew that New Year Eve is a huge camping holiday? I had awesome Sprint coverage, I was able to tether and watch my Netflix too. I gave this place 4 stars because they call it a resort. This is not a resort, a nice campground with lots to do.

Thousand Trails Wilderness Lakes RV Resort

    Good Family Fun!

We enjoyed the pool, watching the ducks in the pond, and the kids loved the basketball court. Some parts closed on certain days- store, jacuzzi, community room. Big spots with room to set up, but this place is booked and it’s mid week late September. Definitely my favorite Thousand Trails so far… lots of long timers/ leased sites on the other side of the park. Friendly staff and overall friendly neighbors too!

    Newport Dunes RV Resort

    Ummm- yes

Amazing - beyond words- worth the insane high prices for bay side camping and large spots. High end area- really nice and true five star RV resort- I would rate 6 if I could. I stayed in multiple spots and having another trip there in a month bay side!

    Big rv spots

Good place to rv stay. Back in sites with HUGE additional spots for extra vehicle. No tables Full hook ups All paved spots which is great because no dust getting into your rig. I took a picture of 5 before we pulled in so you can see how huge. The host is friendly and lives on site. No pool A laundry room is available Besides that pretty basic but has full hook ups

    Thousand Trails Idyllwild

Rustic and dirt at 6000 -7000 FASL

Limited FHU sites one is extremely lucky to find one available. Honey wagon is $25.00 per dump. 50 year old buildings in need of repairs as well as the electric wires ( OLD aluminum) bathrooms are old and drain covers are loose ( hazardous situation if barefooted in shower) informed maintenance and for 2 months nothing was fixed. The reason it got 3 stars ⭐️ is its location being up in the mountains ⛰ in a state forest is a nice place to relax unwind and get away from the rat race. If your a member of thousand trails this is an affordable park ( free ). If your a retail customer it is a little pricey even tent 🏕 camping is $50 -$60 a night. Then again in 2021 what isn’t expensive?

    Thousand Trails Idyllwild

Big, sprawling campground close to town

We stayed at the Idyllwild RV Resort over Labor Day weekend 2020 and we had a great time. The campground is big with lots of different spaces dedicated to cabins, RV's, tents etc so nothing feels too cramped or noisy. Plus, there are a lot of open spaces in the campground and some small trails with cool views and lots of amenities. The good news is even with it being an "RV Resort" our camping area still had lots of wooded area and it never felt too chaotic or crazy. We didn't get to take advantage of all of the amenities due to COVID, but it was nice to have the little market and cafe. It is also close to Idyllwild but far enough away from the town, unlike a lot of the other campgrounds we saw in the area which were really close to roads and lots of other people. Bathrooms were nice (although a little far away from some of the spots) and well-kept. The tent sites are fairly spacious - NO WOOD FIRES HERE - with room for our car and tent and their provided picnic table, although some of the sites are a bit close together. Overall, a good experience and a place we would definitely come back to.
