Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

      Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

      Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

      Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

      Waterfront RV Park

      Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

      Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

      Bonita Ranch Campground

      Just ok overall

Needed somewhere fairly close to home to take my new to us motorhome. Sites were decent size but fairly close together so don’t expect a lot of privacy. Sites interspersed among long term residents. Hookups water and electric at each site. Some shade, trails to riverbed currently mostly dry and Bonita falls about 25 minute walk over river rock. Fire rings available to rent for $5. The biggest issue I had was our electric went out to our loop at about 7:30pm…luckily we are self contained…it still had not been restored when we left the next day at noonish. The lights to the office area and restrooms was still on (thankfully) but not the camp sites.

      Orangeland RV Park

      Location!

Stay here every year for dance competitions in Anaheim and Garden Grove. Very reasonable prices for the area. Anaheim transit makes on-demand stops her to Disneyland as well as Garden Walk. Very helpful, friendly staff. Many residents mixed with overnight era or vacationers.

      Pros:

      • The price for the area is worth it!
      • Amazing staff.
      • Free citrus picking!
      • Pool, mini golf on site.
      • Incredibly creak restrooms and showers.
      • Camp store.
      • On-demand public transport for $6/person for all-day access.
      • Walking distance to Big Ed and Honda Center.
      • Along Santa Ana River Trail path that connects beach to San Bernardino Mts.
      • Security at night.
      • Dog runs (kinda stinky, though)
      • Back-in and pull-thru sites (I’d try to stay closer to Struck and the western side)
      • Rules are there to keep things nice and safe.
      • Good wifi

      Cons:

      • Stinky dog runs
      • Street racing nearby at night. Every time.

      Dockweiler Beach RV Park

      Great location!

Camping at the beach in LA! Large country campground that has sites designed for motorhomes and sites designed for travel trailers and fifth wheels. It asphalt campsites, but you’re at the BEACH! My only complaints are the electrical was not working properly, (I had to connect to 30A instead of 50A), and people don’t pick up after themselves.

    Guide to Mount Wilson

RV campgrounds near Mount Wilson, California are situated across varied terrain from mountainous areas to lowland settings. The elevation difference between higher and lower campsites can exceed 3,000 feet, creating notable temperature variations even during the same season. Most RV facilities operate year-round, but higher elevation access roads can become challenging during winter months.

    What to do

Wildlife watching: Visit Rancho Jurupa RV Park for bird watching opportunities. "Sights of all kinds of birds like hawks and herons" is what one camper experienced, noting the "beautiful views all around Sunrise, Sunset and Night sky."

Historic exploration: Drive just 8 minutes from camp to explore Riverside's historic district. "We drove over to the Mission Inn (8 min drive) enjoyed lunch. Their is a pedestrian only shopping area with a Saturday farmer's market plus lots of restaurants," reports a Rancho Jurupa visitor.

Water activities: Take advantage of splash pads for cooling off during hot weather. "Very well maintained and clean campsites! Splash pad, park, mini golf great amenities," notes a Rancho Jurupa camper. Another mentions "Second time here and we're enjoying it. It's hot but a fire haze has blocked the sun a bit also the water pad is so fun even for grown ups."

    What campers like

Urban accessibility: Hollywood RV Park offers convenient access to Los Angeles attractions while maintaining quieter surroundings. "Owner and employees are friendly and helpful. Quiets down at night so you can rest. Facilities are in good condition, I would stay again if I had business in the area," writes one visitor.

Natural shade: Several campgrounds provide tree cover for temperature management. "Good Spots with enough Space for your RV. Ist unser trees so it stays comfty Even when ist hot," notes a Hollywood RV Park camper. At Bonelli Bluffs, one camper appreciated the "lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful."

Security features: Many Mount Wilson area RV parks implement security measures. "Friendly staff to check us in gates close at 10:pm your provided with a security gate code to get back in if your out late," explains a Rancho Jurupa camper. At Bonelli Bluffs, "Dog friendly, clean, quiet, love the grass and trees nicely kept property."

    What you should know

Train noise: Some campgrounds experience railroad disruptions. At Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon, "We stayed here 2 nights because it's a Thousand Trails campground and we're TT members. It's in the middle of nowhere in the desert. That's both good and bad. It's very very close to railroad tracks and at night the loud train kept waking us up."

Internet connectivity: WiFi quality varies significantly between parks. "No WIFI and reception for Verizon was hit or miss," reports a Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon visitor. At Hollywood RV Park, "Wifi could be fastet," but most guests find it functional for basic needs.

Site spacing: RV sites range from spacious to extremely tight. "We stayed in the natural area with hook-ups everything worked great. Neighbors were nice, cute set ups with twinkle lights and people enjoying outdoor fire pits," notes a Rancho Jurupa camper, while at other facilities, "spaces are one of the cleanest I seen."

    Tips for camping with families

Adventure options: The Californian RV Resort serves as a practical home base for multiple excursions. "Small spots, but level, clean, cement, and full hook up. Bathrooms have great showers, extremely clean, pool and hot tub. 40 to 50 mins to LA and 1 hr to Longbeach. Easy access to freeway small grocery and great coffee shop close."

Playground access: Choose campgrounds with dedicated children's areas. "Lots of families with children, fishing for catfish in the little lake which is shaded with trees and plenty of tables to picnic by the lake. Playground plus lots of grassy areas," reports a Rancho Jurupa visitor.

Activity planning: Many campgrounds offer structured recreation for different age groups. "Cottonwood is for the true RV'ers. Lakeside is more for tent camping. Nice park for family camping," explains a Rancho Jurupa camper, while another visitor mentions the "mini golf, great amenities" available on-site.

    Tips from RVers

Winter accessibility: Lower elevation campgrounds provide reliable year-round access. Golden Shore RV Resort in Long Beach offers "cement, lots of room, close to laundry and pool" and serves as a reliable winter option when higher elevation sites may be inaccessible.

Site selection: Request specific areas within larger campgrounds. "We were lucky and got a middle spot with wonderful shade trees! It's quiet at night. Just the white noise hum of the city and crickets," reports a Hollywood RV Park camper.

Maintenance monitoring: Check for recent facility updates. "This is a good location to explore LA and greater LA area, 45 min to Hollywood sign. Park is a large TT resort with recently remolded lodge in 2019," notes a Thousand Trails visitor, while also advising to "expect something to be out of order/closed such as laundry, pool or at least one amenity" during your stay.
