Best RV Parks & Resorts near Mount Judea, AR

Several RV parks surround Mount Judea, Arkansas, offering varied options for motorhome travelers exploring the Ozarks. Gilbert RV Park provides year-round access with electric hookups, 50-amp service, and sanitary dump facilities in a convenient location. Just north in Harrison, Harrison RV Park & Campground features 64 full-hookup sites with both 30 and 50-amp service, operating year-round with big rig friendly spaces. Kingston Trails RV Park, located on AR21, maintains 10 sites with electric hookups (30/50 amp) and water connections, though it lacks sewer hookups at individual sites. Denton Ferry RV Park accommodates larger rigs across its 44 sites with full hookups including water, electric, and sewer connections. "Very nice COE campground, well kept, clean showers and bathrooms. Sites had plenty of room between each one and plenty of parking for your tow vehicle," noted one RV traveler about a nearby Corps of Engineers campground.

Navigation to some RV parks requires careful planning due to the mountainous terrain. Many campgrounds in the region maintain gravel roads and pads that may require leveling blocks. Cell service varies significantly throughout the area, with stronger signals typically available at RV parks closer to Harrison and other larger towns. Most RV campgrounds near Mount Judea are pet-friendly, though specific restrictions may apply. Dump stations are available at all the major RV parks, with some offering on-site propane service. Summer and fall represent peak camping seasons when advance reservations become essential, particularly for weekend stays. One camper noted, "It doesn't offer a lot in terms of comfort—there are full hookups but no real fire rings, no trees or shade and it's HOT in early June." Winter camping options remain available at several year-round facilities, though amenities may be limited during off-season periods.

    Cricket Creek

    Very Nice C.O.E. Campground

Very nice COE campground, well kept, clean showers and bath rooms. Stayed in site#19. Sites had plenty of room between each one and plenty of parking for your tow vehicle. 3o & 50 Amp service. Hosts were friendly. We camped at Cricket Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer. Branson MO is 12 miles from Crickett Creek with Table Rock Lake within walking distance of the CG.

    Cooper Creek Resort

A bit rustic but it had everything I needed

This is camping, not an RV park. Gravel roads and uneven RV spots with uneven picnic/fire pit areas. One or two trees between most campsites, but very open. My site had 30 amp electric, water, and sewer. It had cable tv, which I didn’t use. Ask about 50 amp electric. Bathrooms looked clean but they are located by the general store on the way to the river. River was completely wooded with a large dock and moorage. I did not notice laundry facilities. There is a general store, but nobody to help you park. Lots of space, so that wouldn’t be a problem. Do expecting level your rig as most spots are uneven.

While the resort is surrounded by River and trees it’s a short drive into civilization.

    Beaver Creek (MO)

Terrific, beautiful, well spaced out, right on the lake

This was a terrific campground. It was a little tricky getting to the campsite with a big rig. We had to unhook our toad before taking the road down. There is a ridiculous low-hanging HUGE sign on the road leading to the campground (NOT the campground’s fault) that you had to drive around in order to get down the correct area.

The campground itself is really lovely - right on the lake. There is a swimming beach, but we were there off-season, so too cold for us to enjoy. The sites were well spread out and private. The camp hosts were so nice and really kind to our children. The older man reminded me a bit of Sam Elliot (without the voice) and had lots of stories to share of his days traveling, hiking, and back country camping.

This is a really cool area with lots to discover. We will definitely return.

Amenities: water, sewer, 50 amp, level site, lots of trees, some wildlife (including a luna moth!)

Things not included: no WiFi, but AT&T service was good, no laundry facilities

    Blue Heron Campground

    Some nice amenities, some lacking.

My wife and I camped here for four nights. Overall it was nice, but there were some things that I wish we knew. The location is great in the sense that it’s easy to get to and it’s laid out well. Unfortunately, it’s directly under an overpass and it is loud- loud enough that I used ear plugs at night.

It’s located on the White river and has a very nice gravel boat ramp, which is a big positive. It also has fishing access during low water.

The WiFi is excellent and the staff are super helpful and friendly.

The biggest plus for us is the bathrooms were among the best that we have found. They’re clean and fairly new.

There is plenty of property to walk and they were very pet friendly. It looks like many of the guests are long term residents.

    Lakeview - Bull Shoals Lake

    Wonderful camping

Great site to camp. Concrete pads and asphalt driveway. Good road around campsites. Pads are very level. Sites have a lot of space between them with many Oak shade trees. Covered picnic table. The table was newer aluminum and clean. Camping at it’s best. Good water and electric hook up. Dump station has two stalls and is in great shape.

    Bull Shoals-White River State Park

    Fisherman’s Paradise on White River

I had heard that Bull Shoals- White River State Park was beautiful, but I didn’t fully understand until I saw it. All of the campsites face white river and there’s plenty of space between sites to allow for some level of privacy. All the campsites are flat with nice concrete pads. Each campsite has a fire ring, picnic table, and trash pole.

There is a newer section of the campground that is north of the marina. These campsites have newer asphalt and fire rings and have better access to the updated ADA bath houses. These bath houses are the single-quad bath houses where the toilet and shower are individualized into four quadrants. They are excellent for those campers that might not have travel trailers or self-contained units.

We were able to hike and fish most days. there is a playground and a basketball court that are functional and easy to access for families. The campground is mostly flat which makes it very easy to ride a bike. There were a lot of kids and adults riding bikes or scooters in the campground. There are also three trailers that have been converted into mobile homes near the marina for those campers that don’t have access to a pop-up or a camper for rent. They look very nice. The marina is also very nice and has a lot of simple supplies and merchandise.

When the dam is not releasing generators, you can wade out into the river from your campsite and fish; however, when they release the generators this is going to be very difficult. The only drawback is that you are inundated all day long with boat motors going up and down White River. It is very tranquil and peaceful in the mornings and evenings.

There are many different outfitters that do fishing trips. We chartered the afternoon with a local outfitter and had a great time. We caught a number of trout and were able to eat them for dinner on our last night. If you like to fish, enjoy camping, and enjoy doing both of those things, Bull-Shoals-White River state park is the place to go. I will definitely be going back!

    Adams Mountain Rd Dispersed Campsite

Piney Creeks WMA Dispersed Campsite, AR Ozarks

Camped here on Wednesday May 15, 2024. In the Piney Creek WMA, part of the Ozark National Forest north of Hector, Arkansas. Large camping area at a high clearance ATV trailhead, FR1322A, just off Adams Mountain Road (gravel road).  The site has at least 2 established fire rings. Site is suitable for group dispersed camping. It looks like it can accomodate up to 3 truck camper size rigs. No problem with finding a level spot for our camper van. The ATV trail is a nice hiking trail into the forest. The trail has a handful of 4x4 obstacles along the way. A 1 1/4 mile hike takes you to a small unnamed waterfall, which may not be running during the dry season. The site is close to Adams Mountain Rd. We camped here during mid-week & only five vehicles passed by during the evening, with headlights briefly shining into the site. The area & fire rings were clean. Campsite surface is dirt, with lots of poison ivy in the surrounding foliage. Overall, this is a good spot; nothing special, but nice. T-Mobile 5G service (2 bars). Intermittent AT&T LTE service.

Fairfield Bay RV Campground & Marina

    It is okay

We stayed September the 2022. Electric & water only. Dump site about half mile away, with dumpsters for trash. The cons or negative was: 1) only one bath house and it was atrocious dirty. 2) the simple restroom near our site was filthy also. 3) our fire pit, the people before us left trash. 4) Our site had the back of our trailer over looking the lake. That was okay, we just set up our chairs behind the trailer for an enjoyable view. But the truck was at such a angle because the sites are level but on a steep slope. Hence, my angle had me backing down hill. Once my trailer was on level site, my truck was at an angle, I could not get my weight distribution bars off. T9 much force. I had to pull out , remove bars and back back in. You better have extra chuck blocks, because your tow vehicle sits on a heck of an angle, at my site. While it is basically shaded and i liked the quiet, for we were the only people there the weekend after labor day, only a car camper lady and her 3 kids were next to us. You do have to drive to get anything. So pros/positives: 1) the view! 2) check in lady at liquor store ultra nice. 3) workers at Marina Ultra nice. 3) Gym people ultra nice, they let us shower at the gym, 4) Everyone in Arkansas was very nice actually. The land of nice people. But the clean up guy in the small pickup truck, does not really clean. He just kind of wanders through the area most mornings.
