Morgan Mtn Rd/Spy Rock Dispersed

I got there with Google maps at no problem. I found a small camp site with a rock fire ring . Which was perfect for my compact suv and 6 person tent. The signal for Verizon was really good and I got 5g. There's alot of little trails that you can walk. And getting there was a lot of twists and turns so I'd say drive slow at that point. But, its not that bad.

Not a bad spot. Lots of room and shade. Plenty of space to turn a truck and trailer around. Had full cell service. No water access and a fair amount of traffic during the week due to road repairs further down the road. Good views, you can actually see spy rock from the site.

Perfect spot with a great view. We were the only ones and it was super peaceful. Good amount of shade for when it’s hot and good amount of trees to hang tarp when it’s raining. Big area so multiple tents and cars can pull in

GPS brought us directly to the site. The gravel road has some ruuts but it you take your time small SVUs can make it fine. Beautiful over look and clean campsite. Spy rock is gorgeous, the trail is a little rough but totally worth it. Trail head is on the right about a mile past camp.

No toilets/showers/dumpsters/ trash cans.
Various camp sites along a dirt road, that my AWD Equinox made it fine. Just go slow, as there are some ruts from previous rains.
There are various outfitters along the way to the dirt road. So you don’t have to go too far if you forgot something. The camp I’m at has the land cleared fairly well of grasses and such.
The others further down the road are for one vehicle type camps with longer grass. There are walking trails, with Spy Rock a short distance away.

A downed tree blocks part of the view, but still has a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. The disbursed sight is large, but only part of it is level enough to camp on in my opinion. Spy Rock overlook is down the road and the view is spectacular. There are also nearby waterfalls to hike to.. The road was well maintained upon our arrival, but the frequent off-road vehicle traffic of the four wheelers and side-by-side that go by constantly have combined with the recent rains to degrade it over the past couple of days. Even with the traffic, we did find some time to listen to the birds and sit in silence under the dark skies. T-Mobile has anywhere from one bar LTE to three bars of 5G extended to 2 bars 5G here. I was able to stream video on my phone before bedtime each night and use my phone to plan for the following day. There are too many trees to use Starlink so this was very helpful.

I arrived about 11 pm. Totally dark. Set up camp, started a fire and relaxed a little. We to bed and woke to a beautiful view overlooking the valley. Site is large enough for 3,maybe 4 Overlanding Rigs. Couple established fire rings. Highly recommend. Camp sits about 30, 40 yards off the road on the left . Late Feb. overnight temp 40. Verizon cell works great.
