Nice location

Stayed here for a four wheeling trip. Was a decent location - sites were mostly dirt/gravel.

Beware

Dangerous dog roaming loose. I was walking up the steps of the restaurant to see if it was open. There was a full size White Pyrenees at the top of the steps. They are usually friendly dogs. This one growled and lunged at me. I had to backpedal so quickly that I almost flipped over backwards down the stairs which most likely would have broken things. Pyrenees are a protectorate breed bred to fight and kill wolves and bears. Their jaw strength exceeds a pit bull. They could kill a child and most adults instantly.

Rendezvous in the Ozarks

Took the family to Rendezvous in the Ozarks at Byrds Adventure Center. We had the best time the the scenery is absolutely beautiful. Camped near the river and had a wonderful time exploring the off-road trails near the area.

Primitive and Perfect

We enjoyed camping here. Things were a little chaotic because we were there during the Byrdfest Music Festival, but the campground was just what we were hoping for.

Off Roading Mecca

Byrd’s adventure Campground is a 4x4 playground with lots off off road to choose from. There is additional fee for off roading due to private property. The campground is offered lots of shade but also offered open land for RV and primitive camping. They do have a restaurant and always seems to be packed for breakfast and dinner. If you want to get down dirty and muddy then this is place to go in a rainy weekend.

Overland weekend fun

Facility is what you would expect for an outdoor adventure facility. The sites are very spacious on the RV area, the smaller camper and primitive sites are very generous as well. The store is well stocked an has ice cream and fresh foods. The restaurant is pretty awesome as well. Food is YUM! They have their own off-road trails or you can venture out into the Ozark National Forrest trails. Also there are 2 grass runways for STOL or short take off aircraft. This place has a lot to offer for a lot of different recreational verticals.

One of my favorite campgrounds!

Has a little of both worlds with lots of electric sites and lots of primitive camping spots. Is a very beautiful area, and it is cool to watch the small planes land and takeoff at the airstrip. There are lots of atv and side by side trails and hiking trails. The bathrooms and showers have always been pretty clean in my experience. I've been here many times and will continue to go to Byrds.

Suitable for all types

Byrd’s was awesome. They not only have their own trails on private land, but off-roaders can hit trails in National Forest territory not too far down the road. Good place for vehicles that need to hook up or primitive. They also have an area at the back of primitive where bush pilots can fly in
