Great stay!

We stayed here for 4 days and had a great time! Short walk to the beach, Ft Gaines, ferry and more. The restrooms, showers and laundry facilities were very clean and most sites have full hookups. Small store on site and staff was friendly! The island is very pedestrian and bicycle friendly with…

clean and convenient

Easy on/off of I-10.  Friendly, helpful staff.  Plenty of pull throughs.  Some pads are dirt, some gravel, some concrete.  They appear to be adding gravel to un-occupied sites.  The camp rules (cloth lines, pet pens) are clearly not enforced

No tens or RTT's?

I called to make reservations for September 21 for a5 days and she said that they are not offering tent camping at this time. Not even a overland trailer (Turtleback with a RTT), it has to be a RV only.

Great Island camping

Fun place to be.!!! Campsites are just a short walk to the beach. The staff is very friendly and will be happy to help with any questions you might have. Bath house is cleaned every morning and showers were pretty warm. The campground has different sections depending on what size Rv you have. Full…

Quiet and well-maintained campground

The campground is technically not in a traditional beach such as Miramar or Clearwater; rather, it’s a small bay front area with a small man-made beach area adjacent a pier out into the bay. The campground is well-maintained except for the ant mounds around all the sites. The water in the bay is…

Mixed Feelings

The Hideaway Retreat is a quirky little place tucked between the Santa Rosa Sound and Navarre Hwy. I can’t say it was a horrible stay - there are some nice features: you are pretty much right on the water and the depth and calmness are perfect for younger children and parents who want to…

Friendly Staff, Clean campground

We camped here over Memorial weekend and we had a great time. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The campground store came in handy on more than one occasion. We had a lot of fun playing putt putt and swimming in the pool.

Easy spot off the highway.

This camp ground is growing so there was quite a bit of construction debris around, but looking past that. This spot is literally right off Hwy 10 at exit 26 making it convenient for travelers. I would not recommend this campsite for true "camping". On ground fires are not allowed and there are no…

Beautiful

Beautiful spot! I really can’t stress how beautiful the hide away retreat is. And over the top nice staff! The only thing is the sites kind of crisscross each other and you might end up face to face with other campers. Or you might end up parallel with the road.

Worst campground experience in 8 years

Website misrepresents by showing pictures taken before storms. Pier & Beach washed-out (20 ft drop to water). Very narrow sites. Ours (#4) had only plugs for 50amp & 20, so had to use adapter. Sewer, water & electric were all at front of site, so had to pull into access road to…

Boutique camping

This is considered "Boutique Camping". There are no rows of concrete pads with bare land. No swimming pool full of drunk adults or loud kids. There are beautiful spanish oak trees around the property and feels very cozy, almost like a community. The ONLY bad thing I can say about this place is that…

Nice quiet campground, lots of Snow-birds

Lots of magnolia trees, great walking paths in wildlife protected areas with turtles and tons of birds, bathrooms, laundry room, small park for kids to play, and a very nice beach about 100 yards away. It's a snow bird community during the winter months. Great taco place and amazing bakery in…

Could be great, but wasn't

Our disappointment is mostly with the cost and lack of concern by management. ! When I called to reserve I was reassured my upgraded waterfront cost of $95 (total actually was $134) a night would be "great". When we checked in we were asked to pay a pet fee...this was news.. never mentioned prior…

Just OK

There were some positives and some negatives for this campground. The area is beautiful and the deck overlooking the ocean is perfect for sunsets. The trees interwoven between campsites were picturesque, and the beach is small but very dog friendly- your dog can run off-leash and swim if you so…

Nice park right off I 10

This is a KOA Holiday park with buddy sites. RV sites are long enough for 44 ft motorhome and toad. However sites are at 90 degree angle and hard to get into for big rigs, but doable. Little pricey. Cost as much as luxury parks a half hour away but guess we are paying for convenience near…
