Arkansas Point Campground — Lake Pueblo State Park

We stayed on a Thursday night and the campground was somewhat busy, but you still felt like you have a lot of space. The spots are pull through which makes setup and tear down so much easier for camp! The views were AMAZING at sunset! The only downside is that there were some louder guests coming in after the 10pm quiet hour which woke up quite a few people around us too. As someone else stated before, try to get a site on the back towards the trails for the best views and more privacy. Also agree with previous reviewers about the extra gate fee. It would be nice if that was just added to the fee when placing the reservation. Overall great experience and we would come back if ever in the area again!

Sites spaced out. Electricity at site. Water spigots located throughout campground. Clean and organized dump station.

Parties late on weekeds, despite official  quiet times.  No rangers after 5pm.  If need one, call State Police to maybe get one on-call.   Do NOT hold your breath.

Over 10 years EVERY State Park I tried to camp in had drunken parties late on weekends. CPW does not care.

 Tent sites often have trailers with generators.  6am to 10pm.  🙄

This is a beautiful state park. The only negative was we had to pay to get in the park after we paid to camp. The young lady that made our reservations was a sweetheart and so was the lady at the gate! We would stay again even with the crazy gate fee😃

Nicely spaced and sized level sites. Good views of the lake and sunrise/sunset. Super clean and warm bathrooms with no smell. Very little trees so no shade. They do provide a shade screen at every site.

We booked this site last minute and it was perfect! The grounds were quiet and people respected the Quiet Hours curfew. Each site has a covered picnic table to block the wind. The site we booked had electricity hookups. We stayed in a car tent, so we needed non-concrete ground to anchor our tent stakes - the sites are all concrete and gravel with a lot of grass surrounding the main driveway. We were able to park our SUV so that we had access to the grassy area without being intrusive to other folks. The showers are in their own bathroom - toilet, sink, trashcan, bench, towel hooks, and shower. I strongly advise to NOT place clothing or towels on the bench near the shower. The shower has a strong spray and it will get your items slightly wet if too close. The showers are included in your camping fee (aka free to use). There isn't anything to block the wind (except at the picnic table) so be advised weaker tents won't be comfortable.

Arkansas campground coma big difference between the three campgrounds if you want flush toilets and showers but the Arkansas one feel like motorbiking is right on your doorstep and the campground host seems to keep this place a lot cleaner than the other ones

Nice view and good spacing between spots.

This campground is located in the state park.  It is nice with a great view of the lake.  Water is available to fill your fresh water tank and a dump at the exit.  No electric hook ups though at our site.  The pad is asphalt  in full sun and level with a fire ring and picnic table.

So amazing and peaceful. Old camphost (they recently left) the old camp hosts were amazing and respectful. I always recommend Lake Pueblo there are idiots at the lake sometimes but its not the parks fault. Amazing park rangers and employees

This was first camping trip staying in a Colorado State park and it was great! We had an electric only back-in site next to the bathhouse which was clean and had 4 separate bathrooms with showers. Our site was located next to a water spigot but we filled our water tank in our RV before we got to our site. We had a fire ring and nice picnic table meant for 8 people! It was super close to the trails to walk my dog on and we walked down to kayak at the lake.

Park on a man made reservoir. Not bad, and better than an rv park, but I likely wouldn’t come again

A favorite camping spot for me and my friends. Paid reservations and you need to pay a daily parking fee unless you have a state park pass. Hot in the summer!! Juniper breaks is alright but we really loved the kettle creek campground much better. Just be aware the water pump in kettle creek shoots straight up, which is VERY nice when you’re hot because #pueblo

Lake Pueblo State Park offers 13+ miles of trails for hiking and biking, plus incredible access to Lake Pueblo itself.

The Arkansas Point Campground is a great place to camp. Sites offer mostly level pavement and 20/30/50 electric hookups. There is no water or sewer at the camp sites, but community water is available throughout the campground as well as a portable water spigot at the dump station.

My advice? Plan to stay here for at least 3-4 days. You’ll want to extra time to hit the trails during the day and do some stargazing at night.

Hot, hot, hot and more hot. Okay, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way- the fishing here is great from the shore and a boat. You can spend a day just floating around on a tube, or simply drinking an iced cold tea under a shade structure.

Just know. In the summer-it’s hot!

Good place. Hot in summer, but. Ice cool nights and mornings. Signage coming in was lacking. Web site and phone calls said “sold out” but there must have been 25 spots open that we could see. Electric, but no water. Nice showers and bath.

Pueblo Reservoir has plenty of options for day use and also camping. Whether you want to boat, fish, swim, hike, sun tan or just chill with some scenery- you can do it here. It’s nice but sometimes has a foul fish smell depending on where you are in the park. There are facilities around and overall it was a pleasant place to spend weekends!

We stayed in Yuca Flats, site 459 for 4 days in July. 459 was a large site, kind of out of the way of other campsites but all sites were nicely spread out and open. We had great views of the reservoir and distant mountains. Sunsets were beautiful and the nighttime show of stars spectacular! The picnic shelters, at every site, are a nice protection from the winds and sun. The bathroom/shower rooms are individual and tidy! This is rare and was much appreciated during Covid. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We went early June and ended up having to come back late at night. The wind picked up and was insane. This would have been doable if we were in the trailer, but our tent just about blew away. Access to water was nice. Will try to go back another weekend.

This park has a little bit of everything! 

The campgrounds are nice:) Pretty open area, but nice amount of space per site. Each site has a picnic table, fire pit, and some shade. Sites near the water would be ideal!(unless you have a child- then I would opt for sites more to the inside of the campground area) Some sites are just a 1 minute walk to beautiful water views! Water activities, great hiking, wildlife(LOTS of prairie dogs), wonderful bike trail, boat launch, swimming beach! Cannot say enough good things about Lake Pueblo State Park! Only drawback is it is VERY busy on summer weekends… during the week it's much less crowded. The campground does fill up, so reservations are the best option. 

I cannot wait to go back!

We just left campsite 531 at Kettle Creek Loop! Our 3 kids loved playing around the little inlet of water and the playground was not too far! Very clean vault toilets close to that campsite and a bigger bathroom by the playground with showers! It’s a rocky tent pad so bring a footprint and sleeping pads. Shade provided over picnic table blocking the evening sun- it’s pretty sunny in the am but nice! It was HOT while we were there but it cooled off at night. Bring a shade tent! We will Be back!

This is a great campground if you have a boat and want to hang out on the water. Pretty good fishing. There is little to no shade at this campground and it gets wicked hot in the summer. The bathrooms and showers are great and the area has a lot of wildlife and bird watching.

We pulled in without a reservation, no problem. We were visiting a friend in Pueblo and this place was close by. (Downtown Pueblo has a really nice riverwalk. Found a free museum that honored Medal of Honor recipients.) When you go in to the campground, the visitor center is there. Helpful staff. The RV side of the campground is to the left. That was pretty full. The tent side was to the right further down a paved road to the right. This section was closer to the lake, very few people and quiet. Might have been the time of year. Each site had a fire ring, a shelter and a paved place to park. Easy for us as well to use the dump site in the RV section. We didn't use it but looked like there were some walking/biking trails close by. Seemed reasonable for $25. It was a nice find. Very clean.

We go every summer when it’s hot. we fish off our boat in the early morning, then we swim and enjoy the refreshing water in the heat of the day!
