In the summer, there are nature hikes in the parks, campfires, and an opportunity to walk on Sunset Beach, where you may be lucky enough to find seashells and spot a seal.

2. Veterans Memorial Park

Veterans Memorial Park is an inexpensive campground in the middle of the city of Monterey. The RV campsites are first-come, first-serve, with no hookups, but you must reserve the picnic tables ahead of time. There is a 3-day camping limit at this RV site.
There are hiking trails through Monterey Pine forests in the park, incredible views of the bay, and the Monterey Aquarium only 2 miles away. The nearby beaches are ideal for exploring with the whole family.

A short drive from Monterey, Saddle Mountain RV Park and Campground sits just 5 minutes off the highway in the Carmel Valley area, abundant with towering oaks, redwoods, and Monterey pines.
This RV campground includes plenty of amenities such as Wi-Fi access, show facilities, toilets, and electrical hookups. You can access 30-amp hookups along with sewer, water, and electrical hookups. There is also sanitary dumping at this campground. Fires are only allowed if you’re burning charcoal briquettes or propane. No wood-burning allowed; there is a fine of $150.

This RV resort is full of amenities, including access to 30- and 50-amp hookups as well as a clubhouse with a fireplace, big screen TV, and a pool table. You can explore the nearby Fort Ord Dunes State Park and hike on nearby trails. If drinking wine is more of your activity, the Carmel Valley wineries are over 23 miles away, as well as other cities such as Big Sur and Carmel.

The RV park offers hookups with 30 or 50-amp options for RVs up to 50’. These premium RV sites offer paved patios and 50-amp electric service and accommodates rigs up to 40’ tall. Every site has a charcoal grill and a picnic table, and if you forget anything, the RV park even has a small general store.
While there is no access to the river, you can drive to nearby hiking trails and the Monterey Aquarium, where guests can purchase tickets at the RV park.
