Great site, bumpy road

We arrived at night in a Ram Pro master campervan. It has official signs at the entrance showing you where the sites are. The site has pull ins for each user and they are spread out. Each site has a lot of space. We arrived late so had to drive a way down to reach a free one. It is quite a bumpy road so it was a bit unnerving in our rented vehicle but it was fine in the end. We woke up to a lovely site surrounding by interesting rocks. There are vault toilets near the entrance but you cannot camp here. It was sunny and windy for our visit in September.

Great location

I went on Labor Day weekend, it was quite busy BUT I was still able to find a spot. Need high clearance and a good off roading car to get all the way through. Also side note, turns out the road goes all the way through! Both ends go straight to a high way which is sweet. There are many animals so make sure everything is bear proof and prepared for one to come by!

The road winds through and there are many different roads that brand off and have a bunch of sites at too

Ageless

Grandparents lived in Laramie, brought us here a Happy Jack road for picnics and rock hounding. Over 50 years ago! The area still looks the same, but much more crowded. We stayed a week and enjoyed watching the climbers throughout the day. Our 27' TT fit easily into the site. It is one of my favorite places and would recommend it to all!

Amazing spot, but crowded!

Stayed here on a Saturday night in June and arrived around 10pm. This site is awesome- there are many labeled camp sites and the dirt road was easy to drive down. Some of the secondary roads that go off the main dirt road are a bit more tough. Would not recommend hauling a big trailer down some of them (although I did see a lot of big trailers). The only problem we faced was that the place was FULL. There are many signs that say “camping in designated areas only”, but all of them were full so we ended up parking our van on the side of the dirt road, which was fine. So if you’re going to stay here, I would recommend arriving early.

Otherwise, it’s a stunning place. The stars are beautiful. The land is beautiful. There are even some cows that were hanging around us!

Cute & Cozy Campground

This was $20/night for camping. You can buy camp permits or day passes at the front entrance. The first group of sites are recommended for bigger rigs and then the lower group of sites are better suited for smaller campers and tent camping.

A fine place to camp

Stayed here 2024/09/11. Easy access, well marked and well separated dispersed campsites.  Good views. Only downside was distant traffic noise from I-80. Would stay here again.

Easy Access, great site

We were driving through the area and needed a quick/easy place to camp for the night. Even in mid-July, we were the only people there. Spots are labeled well, with great fire pits at every sight. Rock formations were awesome. We nestled behind a rock and couldn’t even hear the traffic by nearby road. Definitely planning another trip soon

LOVED it here!

We stayed in two different spots. The first one was nice but the second one was so spacious and had so many trees and was far from the road so traffic didn’t sound too bad. Had many fires in the available fire rings. The place is busy during the weekend but dead during the week, especially when it started to cool down. The pictures will speak for the amazing views!

Spectacular setting

Fabulous rock formations and peaceful. It's well worth the ridged dirt roads and the drive to find the perfect spot.
