The campground stays relatively uncrowded outside of summer weekends, and site spacing gives campers enough room to spread out without feeling hemmed in. Day-use parking sits adjacent to some sites, so expect occasional foot traffic from non-campers moving through the area during daylight hours. Cell service is available. Facilities are basic: vault toilets and a water spigot within steps of the campsites, though Scott D. notes the water was not available during a late October visit, describing it as "a bit pricey for no water" for non-residents at that time of year.
The $10 nightly rate applies year-round, and reservations are available through the Wyoming Department of Parks and Cultural Resources. No pets are allowed. Campers exploring the area can also find places to camp near Keyhole Reservoir State Park, including Pats Point Campground — Keyhole State Park and Beach Campground — Keyhole State Park nearby. Arriving with a full water supply is advisable if visiting in late fall.

Cottonwood, Homestead, Arch Rock, Pronghorn, and Beach area campgrounds are closed for the off-season. Treehouse, camp shacks, fish cleaning station, and all water are closed. Campsites in open campgrounds are walk-in only! Arrive at the park, pick a site, and pay all required fees at one of our self-pay stations. Starting November 1: All docks will be out of the water. Docks may be pulled earlier depending on weather conditions. ATTENTION: A parkwide asphalt rehabilitation project will begin at Keyhole State Park on Nov. 2, 2026. This project encompasses asphalt repairs on Marina Road, Pat___s Point Road, and sections of Brandenburg Loop. Work will continue through the end of 2026, with additional work expected in June 2027 when temperatures allow. Keyhole State Park staff ask visitors to use caution when entering the park through either the Marina Road or Coulter Bay entrances and to follow any temporary traffic direction changes. Electric sites at the Coulter Bay campground will remain closed until Dec. 1, 2026, to accommodate heavy equipment, trucks, and construction materials.
