Good place for the only option

This is the only RV site in the Milwaukee metro area. It was nice, clean, showers and laundry. Staff is friendly.

Summer months May through April you do have to book 2 nights minimum. That was a little annoying as it already seemed high price of $60 per night.

Was a decent place for our stop in Milwaukee though.

Parking Lot with services .

This is a huge parking lot for the State Fair. Very nice staff. Nice facilities were average and clean. We didn’t know it, but our site was 15 amp. On the same pole were two 30 amps. So we just use that because no one was there. 1.7 miles on bike path to Brewer Baseball field. It was raining to we used Uber to the game and walked back for an afternoon game.

Really Great City Park

The quality of most city parks, especially on the east side, is abhorrent simply because they can be. I always have low expectations when I enter a city that basically has one option for RVs.

That being said, this is one of the best I’ve been to. Granted, it features things you would expect from a city park: cramped spaces, lots of noise, high nightly rates. But we lucked out getting one of the bigger spots.

Pros: LOCATION, Good wifi, great signal, friendly staff, lots of washers and dryers with a change machine, will accept and hold packages for guests.

Cons: The sewage system is strange at this park. We couldn’t reach ours during our stay and a camper had blocked the dump station so we pulled through in a vacant spot to dump. The pipe is highly elevated, making the process more hands-on than one would like. Bathrooms could have been cleaner, but I mostly blame guests for not picking up after themselves. The automated site selection process, which many have mentioned, is frustrating. I received six emails between Mar-Jun indicating they switched my spot. I noticed they placed a lot of large fifth wheels in tiny back in spaces when plenty pull throughs were available. Wonky system.

Excellent for quick access to downtown Milwaukee

Perfect campground for what it is! Big paved parking lot with full hookups. Very close to downtown, right off of interstate. Clean facilities. We were visiting family downtown and it was very convenient.

Very nice, clean and convenient

We stayed at State Fair RV Park in Milwaukee for two months while waiting to retire and work out bugs in our new RV. The park was all cement, it was clean and quiet. Laundry and shower facilities were kept very clean as well. There were plenty of grassy areas to take our dog out to potty. The Park is close to many restaurants and shopping. It is also the only RV park in Milwaukee.

Only RV park in Milwaukee

Well located to Milwaukee, nice clean facilities, but it is basically a large parking lot with a band of grass on the far right as you enter. We took an electric only site on the far right and were backed up against a band of grass. Full hookup sites are all blacktop. Not a place for recreation, but good as a base for Milwaukee attractions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Wisconsin State Fair RV Park located and how to find it on the map?

Wisconsin State Fair RV Park is located in Milwaukee, conveniently situated right off the interstate. It's part of the State Fairgrounds complex, making it easy to find by following signs to the Wisconsin State Fair. The strategic location offers excellent access to downtown Milwaukee, with the park being approximately 1.7 miles from the Brewers baseball field via a bike path. This prime location makes it an ideal base for exploring the Milwaukee metropolitan area while having convenient highway access.

Is Wisconsin State Fair RV Park open year-round and what seasonal considerations should campers know?

Wisconsin State Fair RV Park is open year-round, providing camping opportunities regardless of season. During summer months (May through April), be aware that a minimum two-night stay is required for reservations. The park's paved surfaces make it accessible in all weather conditions. There are no particular seasonal amenities that change throughout the year, as the park functions primarily as a convenient base for Milwaukee visitors rather than a recreational camping destination. For current seasonal policies or restrictions, contact the park directly before planning your trip.

What do reviews say about camping at Wisconsin State Fair RV Park?

Wisconsin State Fair RV Park offers clean facilities with full hookups on a large paved parking lot. While not a traditional camping experience with limited recreational opportunities, it excels as a convenient urban camping option. The park features clean shower and laundry facilities, paved sites, and grassy areas for pets. Its proximity to downtown Milwaukee and major attractions is a significant advantage. At approximately $60 per night, some find it somewhat expensive, but it's valued for being the only RV camping option in the Milwaukee metro area. The staff is friendly, and the location right off the interstate makes it easily accessible.

What RV camping options are available near Milwaukee beyond the State Fair Park?

RV camping options near Milwaukee are limited, with Wisconsin State Fair RV Park being the only dedicated facility within the immediate metro area. For alternative options, you'll need to venture further out to surrounding counties. State parks like Richard Bong State Recreation Area (about 45 minutes south) and Kettle Moraine State Forest (to the west) offer more natural camping environments with RV accommodations. Private campgrounds can be found in suburban areas and along Lake Michigan, though they lack the convenient city access that State Fair Park provides. For urban exploration with an RV, State Fair Park remains the most centrally located option in the Milwaukee region.
