Hoffman City Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

A city park campground right on the edge of River Falls, Hoffman City Park sits within Hoffman Park, Riverfalls, Wisconsin and draws a mix of road-trippers and families looking for an affordable overnight stop. Sites are open terrain with electric hookups, though campers should note there are no individual water hookups at the sites. The dump station is located near the exit. Access has been flagged as rough, so drivers with longer rigs should account for that going in. The campground accommodates RVs up to 50 feet.

Noise is the most consistent practical concern reviewers raise. The campground sits directly adjacent to a highway, and Anna notes it plainly: "Right next to the freeway, so you will hear that at night." Light sleepers may want to bring earplugs. On the other side of that trade-off, the park itself has a lot going on during daylight hours, including disc golf, a skate park, playgrounds, sand volleyball, and wooded hiking trails. There is no fire pit at each site, so campers need to bring their own.

Bathrooms are reported as clean. There is one shower on site. At $10 to $20 per night, the price point is low for the amenity level, and the park manager has drawn specific praise for being attentive and accommodating even when the campground fills up. First-come, first-served availability means arriving early matters, particularly on summer weekends when the park can reach capacity. Anglers and paddlers will find the Kinnickinnic River nearby, and Kinni Creek Lodge and Outfitters is a short distance west for those wanting a camping experience closer to the water.

Fee Info

For non-campers, the dump fee is $5.00, payable at the dump site.

Reservation Info

Maximum stay is 2 weeks in electric sites and 5 days for tents.

Guests commonly noted excellent family amenities and outstanding staff hospitality at this affordable park. Highway noise is a consistent concern for light sleepers, though many found the recreational facilities worth the trade-off.

A sleepless night

I picked this site for the proximity to the golf course that I’m playing in the morning. A lot of people, a lot of noise being next to the highway but, I can’t sleep in my own house let alone being outside. When I came in and set up at the RV spot instead of the tent. Kurt was kind enough to help me relocate to the correct location. Kudos!

Good for a quick stop

Spent one night here on a fly fishing trip. This campground is literally adjacent to the highway. You will hear it all night.

Convenient Place to Stay

Nice place to stay overnight with kids for a reasonable rate. Great playground area for kids to play. Right next to the freeway, so you will hear that at night. There are a lot of restaurant options near by if you don’t want to cook.

great park for kids!

This is a first come, first serve park and when we showed up it was full. But the park manager made a spot for us anyway and hooked us up next to the maintenance shed. He checked in on us every day and was so kind and accommodating. Totally blew us away with the hospitality!

The park has a few playgrounds, skate park, disc golf, and clean bathrooms. Only one shower, and it’s not the greatest, but for $20/night this is a fantastic place to stop and explore the area!

Family fun

This campground has electric but not water hook up. There is a dumping station at the exit.  There are no fire pits, bring your own. Great wooded hiking trails. There is the Tir Angels playground, sand volleyball, frisbee golf,  and a semi pro baseball field all located with in the grounds! So much to do, so little time!

Only thing missing is pool or lake. However River Falls has a community pool a couple miles away and great kayaking on the Kinni with 2-1 outfitters in town as well.
