This is a first come, first serve park and when we showed up it was full. But the park manager made a spot for us anyway and hooked us up next to the maintenance shed. He checked in on us every day and was so kind and accommodating. Totally blew us away with the hospitality!
The park has a few playgrounds, skate park, disc golf, and clean bathrooms. Only one shower, and it’s not the greatest, but for $20/night this is a fantastic place to stop and explore the area!
This has been one of our favorite stop overs! Plenty of activities for the kids, nice staff, and friendly campers. Had to dock a star for the tight spot though. way too difficult to back in and super close to other campers. But other than that, it was great!
it was alright, just not a comfortable camping experience. the sites were nice enough, but the seasonal campers spread out a bit and we felt like we were invading everyone’s space by being there. But the UP is beautiful so it made up for it.
Had a great time here with our kids! The park is beautiful, clean, and easy to navigate. And you’re close enough to Sioux Falls to explore that area too.
If you can choose, get site 14E! Felt like we had a backyard and our own private woods. Haha. Hope we get to go back!
This park is a nice little stop in a super small town. We came through just to visit the Ingall’s homestead and enjoyed this peace and quiet so much we decided to stay for four days.
It’s self service, so first come first served. We were the only ones here for a day or so and then a few others came, but it never filled up. You just put your cash in a lock box.
All the sites have electrical and there’s water available in a few sites. Splitter on the spout makes it easy for two campers to share the water.
The back in spots have plenty of shade. The pull throughs are in direct sun. But all the spots are freshly graveled and we’ll maintained.
There’s a playground for the kids and clean bathrooms with showers.
The town is super small, so don’t expect to have a touristy experience or anything. But if you’re on your way to the ingall’s homestead, or just need a place to park for a night or two, the spot is great.
One of our favorites in New England!
The staff is super nice, the sites aren't on top of each other, but close enough to say hi to you neighbors in the morning.
My only complaint was the lack of shade where we were, but everything else was great.
We really enjoyed our stay at Brennan Beach! It was PACKED on the weekend, but they have a really efficient check in process and the staff is super nice. Probably some of the nicest campground staff we've met yet.
A lot of locals camp here seasonally, and if you're not from around there, you'll stick out. We had a few awkward interactions but nothing serious. Mostly just funny.
Definitely one of the nicer TT spots!
Beautiful campground, clean facilities, decently priced. The pool, playground, bathrooms, and basketball court were all open and well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay!
Let’s start with what we loved. The Gaga ball pit was great. The pool was nice, although, no seating due to covid. The camp store was convenient and well stocked. the WiFi was really great too. Best we’ve had at a campground!
Now to what wasn’t so great.
We had been Boondocking for a week prior to arriving and needed to dump our tank before pulling into our site. While we were dumping our gray tank, the dump clogged. The staff member told us to just empty what was in our hose on the grass and maintenance would fix it later. Since our tanks were still full, we asked if they’d provide us with the mobile tank service free of charge, but they declined. They did offer 50% off, though.
When we got to our spot, it was covered in hundreds and hundreds of nails and broken glass. Maintenance ended up having to get a shovel to get most of the nails up but we still spent the first few days of our stay picking up nails and glass from every corner of our site.
About three days into our stay, the power line caught on fire and we lost power to our RV for a few hours. Not a huge deal, just one more thing.
Those were the main things that make it hard to give more than three stars, but there was also the small laundry facility (one washer. one drier) , the noise level at night (yelling, loud music at several camp sites around us, a few fights, etc.) and the belligerent drinking on the weekend that made it a not so kid friendly place to be.
Honestly, I wouldn’t even complain about any of that if it wasn’t such a pricey campground. We’ve had much better experiences for a lot less. Just disappointing, but hey. Maybe we just had the perfect storm and none of those things would happen again? No idea. Just seems like the kind of place that’s great as long as nothing goes wrong. 🤷🏻♀️
Pic isn’t the best, but it’s the only one I took of site!
