ScoutCamped with husband and two children. It's a well-maintained campground with a lot of trees throughout, but note that the trees don't separate your individual sites. However, I was pleasantly surprised for a kids-themed facility. Just make sure you don't get one of the few sites along the main road.
The kids enjoyed the pool that had a twisty water slide, basketball hoops, a float turtle they all loved to climb, and a playground with the dumping bucket. The mini golf was really decent and we enjoyed the weekend entertainment of music on the grounds and at the pool party. There is an arcades room, free wifi, and very well stocked general store.
They have weekly themes throughout the summer and Yogi makes appearances that the kids love. Our friends stayed in cabins a few yards away and those were a nice, comfortable choice for them with running air conditioning and a shower.
It was nice to see that a camp ranger walked around to control noise levels, which didn't seem to be an issue. That's appreciated by us tenters.

The sites ver very close together, but the biggest complaint is the noise into the wee hours of the morning. What good are quiet hours if they are not enforced? The people across from us were playing music and being loud well past 1:00 am. Overall the park looks nice, but we would not recommend this place based on the noise after quiet hours.

Just a few minutes walk to Lake Michigan and a nice beach. Only flaw is the inconsistency with fire pits, some on the opposite side that doesn't give you much privacy for a campfire. The sites on the road aren't great, but at least the picnic table and fire pits are secluded with those.
LegendRiding my bicycle laden with touring gear in the rain, I was quite wet by the time I arrived at the state park entrance. The two ladies inside were very helpful and got me set up in a site near the showers. However after riding the mile to get to the site I found it occupied. They had until 3 to leave. Luckily my phone had service so I called and switched to the next one over. I set up my tent and threw my stuff inside as the rain drizzled around me.
The rain gave way around 3 so I went out and tended to the chain. As I was working the camp hosts came by. They cleaned out the fire pit and found broken glass, watermelon and other trash left by the last group. We had a nice conversation. They said that they knew the couple who hosts the next state park I'm riding to so I'll pass on their hellos. Then I walked out to the beach and found whitecaps on the waves.
This is a great state park and well worth your stopping by.
TravelerGreat park with swimming beach, trails, dog park, and archery range. Campsites were ok, not much separation or privacy at all. Pit toilets and metros desperately need to be cleaned more often. We had very noisy neighbors that did not respect the quiet hours rule and park staff did nothing to intervene. Very convenient that they drive through the Campground to sell/deliver firewood tho. I'd stay here again because the park overall is great, but I would try to choose a better site. #9 looked alright, and in the 20#s looked a bit more tree lined and bigger.
RangerThis was the strangest camping experience I've ever had. It was early June and there were maybe two or three other sites set up in the entire campground. I made my reservations online for a tent site and nothing indicated that the site I selected was an overflow site. These "overflow" sites were scantly numbered, and there were fewer fire pits and picnic tables than indicated online. All of these tent sites were scattered in a grass field among the frisbee golf. We were glad no one was playing frisbee golf because it was intermixed with where the tents would be, so people would be getting hit with frisbees.
My friend and I pitched our tent closest to the bathroom because we could not find the actual spot we reserved online. We could not find anyone to ask about our site other than the waitresses at the restaurant who were very busy. We ate at the restaurant too and were unimpressed. Unless you get the day's special, it is very overpriced and the portions are small.
The bathrooms were clean (because no one else was at the campground), but there was no drinking water. We were on a bike tour and had to bike over 10 miles in the morning to find some good drinking water. I don't believe I paid $25 for something that was barely a campsite and had no drinking water.
I might of enjoyed it more if I had time to explore the area and the tower, but just dropping in for the night was not a great experience. It felt the campground only came to be because somebody wanted to open a restaurant and his buddy thought it would be a genius idea to let people camp there too.

TravelerLiving rather close to this park, this is our "go-to" place to camp. It has a great variety of activities available. There is a beach AND a dog beach so it's pet-friendly. Dogs are not allowed on all of the trails, but there are many you can take them on. Being on the water, you can swim, kayak, fish, or just soak up some rays! There are also non-reservable sites available. There are many electric sites, clean bath houses, friendly campground hosts, some rather private sites as well. It's a short walk from the campsites to the lake. Our favorite site is next to the woods where we have seen ample deer, turkey, foxes, and birds. Close to town if you need supplies, firewood and ice is available in the park.

We were situated where the seasonal campers are and near the edge of the campground. Then there is a farm field and I saw deer every day which was lovely. Overall, it was a very quiet part of the campground.
They have a small store and an indoor pool which is nice with Wisconsin weather being unpredictable. It was very crowded on the shallower side and the slide goes into the shallow side as well which makes it very crowded and splashy. I found my time in the pool awesome when there was no one or families whi watch their kids and are just calmer. When big hoards showed up it was a very annoying experience. There's barely seating and it was really dark in the room.
They pride their grass, as they should because it is nice, but the roads in campground were all very narrow so we had to drive on it if a car was coming. If they could widen the roads a bit it would be helpful for driving as well as save their grass more. Similar to their entry, pretty narrow. If their entry was one way and had a different exit it would be helpful.
Overall, the staff was helpful and it was a very pretty campground with friendly seasonal folks. We didn't really interact with any one on the other side of the grounds.
As I said, if they could widen the roads, make a separate exit, add more amenities like theme activities for kids, and make the pool area less dark and move the slide to the deeper end or even 4ft area it would be 5 stars.
