1. Devils River Campground
Maribel, Wisconsin8 Reviews•26 Photos•70 SavesOriginally designated the Ma-na-to (Manitoo) River, translated “Stooping Spirit River,” by native Ojibwe peoples, the name was mistaken by early settlers to mean “Devils River.” This mistranslation stuck and today Devils River is the name of the 16-mile-long waterway that flows into the West Twin River, which in turn empties into Lake Michigan. Visitors to the river can enjoy some outdoor time at the Devils River Campground, while exploring some of the historical sites around the area, including an old mill and the remains of an old stone bridge. The river is also a popular fishing hole for bullhead catfish, rock bass, northern pike, and brown and rainbow trout. Located approximately 30 minutes southeast of Green Bay, the Devils River Campground offers 130 parklike campsites situated among open, grassy clearings (i.e., minimal privacy) surrounded by shady trees. Sites can accommodate both tent and RV campers (max 50 feet), and are equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and water and electrical hookups. The central comfort station provides flush toilets, showers and laundry facilities; a dump station is located nearby. The campground also features a large swimming pond, a playground, and access to the Devils River State Trail for exploring the river, wetlands, and local prairies. Dogs are welcome at this campground. Campsite rates are $32–$38/night. Situated right in the campground is the historic Rock Mill. Constructed in 1847 by Pliney Pierce, the mill first operated as a sawmill, then as a gristmill, for nearly a century. The remarkably well-preserved building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The mill is not open for public touring, but can be viewed from outside. Just a mile south of the campground, visitors can explore some natural history at Cherney Maribel Caves Park. The park has many caves, crevices, and cliffs that can be explored by the public. A few caves can only be seen by joining a seasonal cave tour. The park also has picnic areas, a playground, and trails for hiking, biking, and skiing.

Wonderful, riverside campground !
Excellent campground! Well maintained and easy to maneuver around. Quiet and enough sun and shade for everyone. Owners are helpful and very nice! Nice playground for the kids, swim beach for great summer fun, campground store/food/drinks if you’re hungry or desire a cold drink to beat the heat and such amazing riverside views that melt the weeks stress away! We will definitely be back to this jem of a campground! Come see for yourself, don’t take my word for it!

Site we got was not the best, but worked out OK. Site was behind the main y coming in to camp, so lots of traffic. Other than that, nothing to complain about. Nice pool, friendly staff.

It’s a nice beach. Bathrooms are nice, they need some decor to make it homey. We have a 30 foot camper and the site we were on, let’s just say we had a hell of a time backing up and smashed one of our back windows in the truck that’s how tight it was. D would have been allot better. Beautiful here but not sure we will come back

Great in the Fall
The Diamond Lake area is a great example of good places to be to enjoy the Fall foliage. A simple camp setup is all I needed to enjoy my time here. The best feature here would likely be space to roam under the trees.
This campground boast a variety of site types from cabins, to a yurt, to a bunkhouse, pull-through sites, and much more. They have a playground as well as nice beaches to access the lake from. Minigolf is yet another feature on site. If you want one place that has it all for the many types of camping you may like to do, Diamond Lake is a great camp.

Charming Little Camp
The thing that impresses me most about this campground is that they manage to do a lot with a little. The Falls are a beautiful little site which the campsites themselves manage to wrap around to maximize the space and fit spaces for all to enjoy. Fortunately, the river itself adds more space for folks to enjoy the water on rocky outcroppings and trees lining much of the banks.
The small town in which the camp is placed gives a true Wisconsin-Midwestern veneer to your stay. Some basic amenities are close by, and the community itself feels safe and inviting. I would have enjoyed a longer stay but I hope to visit it again soon. 5 stars for making the most of what they have.

Pine Grove Campground
Excellent for Young Families
As a father with 3 young kids, I thoroughly enjoy this camp for the activities and amenities available. The water area is a favorite for kids and the grounds sport plenty of things to grab their attention from mini-golf to the lake. The sites themselves had enough to meet your needs, as well as enough tree cover to still help you enjoy the feeling of being in nature. The drive in is nice and accessible even for bigger rigs. It's a good entry point for the nature in Northeast Wisconsin.

Very nice stay
Stayed here for three nights during our Door County Century bike ride trip. The staff was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The site was very spacious and the campground nice and quiet, clean and well kept. Will definitely be staying here again.

Beautiful and Quiet
Awesome campground! We stayed here for 2 weeks in our 2021 Keystone Hideout 250BH. They don't have a ton of sites and they are reserve only. The weekdays are extremely quiet but the weekends get a little busy due to the seasonal sites.
The sites are electric/water and they do have a dump station very close by. The central pond and waterfall were awesome!
As far as amenities - the bathrooms/showers were very clean and well kept. They also had laundry services! Mowing day is on Thursdays!
The only negative with our stay (which the campground can't help) were the mosquitos, flies, and bees. So bring bug spray!!!
There are several things to do - hiking, biking, caves, Lake Michigan, etc.
The New Hope Cave is only open to tour 1 weekend of the month. It is usually the 3rd Saturday of the month but there were scheduling conflicts and it was open on the 2nd Saturday in August so we weren't able to tour. We were still able to visit the other caves and walk around and look at wildlife. If you go when it is raining you won't be able to go in many of the caves as they become flooded but it does make some really cool waterfalls! The Manitowoc Breakwater Lighthouse is on Lake Michigan about 30 minutes away from the campground but we definitely recommend going to see it! We would definitely stay here again!

Family Oriented, Family Operated
My friends and I love camping here because of the huge wooded sites, quiet family environment, and excellent service provided by Jen, Joe and their whole family. As a privately owned campground, they take their rules and security seriously to make sure their campground is safe, clean, fun, and quiet (during quiet hours). If you're looking for the party campground, this isn't it. If you're looking for lake fun (no boats) during the day and relaxing by the fire at night, this place is a must.

Stayed there for our daughters birthday weekend. The owners overheard us talking as we checked in and brought her campfire colors as a gift all wrapped. Sites were pretty level and just enough room for some privacy. Would certainly come back for the hospitality.

Door county get away
We showed up late Friday due to some issues with our pop up. The lady called and asked when we were arriving that was so nice. The campsites are tightly packed but luckily we got a nice wide open one right next to the perfectly cleaned bathrooms and showers. I loved that they have a social gathering spot with movies and djs. The pool is small but clean they have a nice 1 foot deep separate pool for the little kids. Everyone was pretty much nice we only had one lady come scold us cause our dog slipped out of his harness for a few minutes she was right on top of us lol. It’s located close to downtown sturgeon bay which was nice! We had lunch at Mary’s on the beach and the crabcakes were awesome. Our waitress was too cool and when my fiancé told her my drink had no booze she promptly brought me a new one with a lot of liquor lol. Wood nearby at houses on the side of the road. Would definitely go back!

On the Embarrass River, a lovely small cascading falls and swimming area. Small store, nicely maintained grounds. Rachel, the owner is very nice. We absolutely lived our stay, would have stayed longer if there were a y availability. We will return.

Permanent Sites Rules...
The owner was very nice and helped us get around on the map. With over 500 sites and 350 of them being permanent.... the weekend warriors tend to get "warnings".
We almost lost our golf cart and people literally drive past and stare. This is a little unsettling since we do have littles and with the recent news this place had involving children.
There were bands playing Thursday thru Saturday at night but for $25 dollars per person and watching all the permanent sites people just park outside the gate watching forcing people who actually paid to park farther away.
The pool is nice, they do plan on remodeling at the end of this season.
Overall it was nice but again.... you have to watch your warnings.

Peaceful quiet campground with a nice pool, well stocked fishing pond for catch and release. Only downside, there is nothing to do at this campground, and you have to drive 30 minutes to the city. Close enough to Lambeau Field for you Packer fans.

This is a small campground. It offers Rv pull through sites with electric and water. Along with a variety of other type of sites. There are many seasonal campsites. It is very clean and well run. The owner - Reid was great. It has a small pond to swim in and is also located on big lake. They have boat rentals. I only gave it 4 stars because we prefer full hookup but they did offer pump out service for a small fee. Great location with lots of things to do in the area.

Bizarre Experience
This was the strangest camping experience I've ever had. It was early June and there were maybe two or three other sites set up in the entire campground. I made my reservations online for a tent site and nothing indicated that the site I selected was an overflow site. These "overflow" sites were scantly numbered, and there were fewer fire pits and picnic tables than indicated online. All of these tent sites were scattered in a grass field among the frisbee golf. We were glad no one was playing frisbee golf because it was intermixed with where the tents would be, so people would be getting hit with frisbees.
My friend and I pitched our tent closest to the bathroom because we could not find the actual spot we reserved online. We could not find anyone to ask about our site other than the waitresses at the restaurant who were very busy. We ate at the restaurant too and were unimpressed. Unless you get the day's special, it is very overpriced and the portions are small.
The bathrooms were clean (because no one else was at the campground), but there was no drinking water. We were on a bike tour and had to bike over 10 miles in the morning to find some good drinking water. I don't believe I paid $25 for something that was barely a campsite and had no drinking water.
I might of enjoyed it more if I had time to explore the area and the tower, but just dropping in for the night was not a great experience. It felt the campground only came to be because somebody wanted to open a restaurant and his buddy thought it would be a genius idea to let people camp there too.

Good, but needs some work
This is a great campground for families with RVs. We stayed in summer of ‘20 and loved it, came back in ‘21 and enjoyed it. Biggest attraction of 3 pools and a water slide were down to 1 pool and the splash pad, which meant crowded pool. Like many things during COVID, delays or back ordered repair supplies are impacting the campground. That said, this is still a great KOA with some full hookups and some w/e. Showers and laundry $$ facilities available. The full hook up pull through are awesome sites- easy in and out, but there are only 6 so book early. We stayed in site 198 last year, and it was a nice wooded site but right on top of neighbors. This year we had 49, which had more open space and some shade for one big tree. This is a very dog friendly campground with a big fenced in dog run and lots of rooms for walks. There’s a bar and restaurant, but with so many great places to go in Door Co I’d skip eating there and enjoy the area. They have 2 tent sites, but these are in an open field with no privacy. I’d pass on sites 95-98 and 133-136 as they back up to the pavilion and offer no privacy. If you’re looking for wooded sites with privacy stick to the sites north of the pools. If you’re looking for open sites for a group of campers, the south part of the campground should suit you.

Large sites, family run and family oriented
First time being at this campground and I absolutely fell in love with it. Family-owners take pride in owning a quiet campground and doesn't allow outsiders. The have clear rules, and as long as they are followed, you're solid. However, if you break the rules, they are on it and have no problem asking you to leave. The most fun filled and piece weekend I've ever camped

Love this camp ground, but they definitely pack it in. Always a good time and party when we're there....but that's what we're looking for. All their sites are nicely wooded, but can get to be close quarters. Good facilities, good bar, great food, newly remodeled pool facilities. Wifi is lacking, but who really needs that camping?

Our favorite local spot!
My kids have been camping with my mom here for years- since it was Kastle. We started a couple years ago. This is such an amazing family campground! Kids of all ages everywhere. After dark the kids usually have a big game of something up at the playground and I have to tell them to be home at a decent time or they’d stay out all night! The office is hard to get a hold of- I’ve learned to call on the weekends during check in or check out times so someone is in the office. There are themes each week so make sure to check their site before so u know! It might be Pirate week or something else fun! There is a bar and a pool and a poolside bar. A small no-wake lake is on premise. and they have golf cart rentals! Halloween weekends are by far the most popular weekends for good reason!! I really could go on and on. Haha This has been my kids favorite spot for almost a decade! We stayed last year every other weekend from mid-may through September. This year we will be back for 3 weekends simply because we have other places booked with friends a lot.
