Hiking Devil's Lake, touring the International Crane Foundation, and taking boat trips on the Wisconsin Dells waterways are all within easy reach of Fox Hill RV Park & Campground, which sits in the forested hills outside Baraboo and draws families looking to use the area's outdoor attractions without sacrificing on-site amenities. The campground runs from late April through mid-October, with nightly rates ranging from $45 to $85 depending on site type and hookup configuration.
The layout divides into two distinct sections. The older wooded loops have smaller, tighter sites with shade trees and spots well-suited to hanging hammocks. The newer expansion area, built for larger rigs with full hookups and pull-through access for RVs up to 80 feet, is more open and still filling in with planted trees. Reviewers consistently note that the B sites, particularly B6, run larger than most and carry more shade than the rest of the campground. Tent campers should be aware that tent sites are compact and on a downhill grade that can cause water to pool near faucets. Jess O. notes the park "would recommend it for someone looking for more entertainment and amenities" in an RV or cabin rather than a tent.
On the activity side, the campground includes a pool, a swimming pond with inflatable play equipment, large-format lawn games, a basketball court, tennis, a playground, dog runs, and a nature trail around the perimeter. The on-site store stocks RV supplies, snacks, and beverages, and delivers firewood and ice directly to sites. Kim L. found that "even the Men's room was super clean," a sentiment echoed by multiple reviewers across different seasons.
Crowding is a recurring theme in reviews, particularly on holiday weekends like Memorial Day, when the campground fills to capacity. Weekday stays tend to be quieter, with sites opening up noticeably by Monday. Cell service gets mixed marks, with at least one reviewer noting that Verizon coverage fell short of what the campground advertises, and WiFi described as spotty. Reservations are accepted and worth making in advance for summer weekends. Nearby, Red Oak Campgrounds, Dell Pines Campground, and Dell Boo Campground give campers alternatives in the same corridor, and those planning a longer stay in the region can browse campsites near Lake Delton for additional options. Families with kids who want a campground that doubles as a destination in its own right will find Fox Hill worth a look.
