Camp Holly is nestled in the heart of the West Virginia mountains at the confluence of the Holly River and Grassy Creek overlooking our stocked three-acre fishing pond. Camp Holly is the place you can take a hike, swim, boat ride, and win a trophy catching a trout supper all in one day. If you need more excitement camp is located near the best outdoor recreation in Appalachia: Fishing, boating, hunting, hiking, trail riding, and climbing. Camp Holly

Fourteen primitive and separately numbered campsites dispersed along a 5-mile section of the lower Cranberry River. Campsites are number 6-19 along the Cranberry River between Big Rock Campground and Cranberry Campground on Forest Road 76. Double sites available at sites 7 and 12.

Cranberry River Sites NF Campground

A popular semi-primitive campground adjacent to the Cranberry River and the "lower-gate" entrance to the Cranberry Backcountry. This campground receives very high use during trout stocking from the beginning of spring through the end of June and again in the fall from September through October. During these high use times there are usually more campers waiting than there are sites available. During high use, the centrally located Bishop Knob Campground can usually accommodate campers when no sites are available along the Cranberry or Williams River Corridors. Located on Forest Road 76, 13.5 miles from Richwood, West Virginia, and 7 miles from Dyer, West Virginia.

Small, wooded 5 unit campground adjacent to the Cranberry River. Located on Forest Road 76, approximately 7 miles north of Richwood, WV.

Big Rock Campground

## Overview

Battle Run Campground is conveniently located just south of Summersville, West Virginia, on the shores of the largest lake in the state.   
  
Superb water quality and sheer sandstone cliffs make Summersville Lake a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

## Recreation

The 2790-acre lake provides excellent boating, water skiing, swimming, and scuba diving. Anglers will find large and smallmouth bass, walleye, panfish, and catfish. Trout are stocked below the dam in spring and fall. Visitors also enjoy the great hiking, biking, hunting, geocaching, and picnicking opportunities on the lands surrounding the lake. For high adventure seekers, whitewater rafting is available year-round on the world class Gauley River. The Summersville Lake area also offers technical rock climbing.

## Facilities

This large waterfront campground offers 110 campsites with electric hookups, along with seven primitive walk-to tent sites. Amenities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, laundry facilities and a dump station. An accessible boat ramp and fishing dock are on-site. Younger campers love the park's playground, nature trails, and large shade trees.

## Natural Features

Scenic Summersville Lake is known for its striking cliffs and quiet coves along 60 beautiful miles of shoreline. Dense forests of maple, oak, hickory, beech and birch trees cover the region.   
  
Wildlife, including black bear, deer, grouse and turkey, is abundant in the area. 

## Nearby Attractions

The historic Carnifex Ferry Battlefield State Park is a 10-minute drive from the campground. The park offers a museum, three Gauley River overlooks and hiking trails as well as a Civil War Battle Reenactment every other year. Summersville Lake Marina and Sarge's Dive Shop are 11 miles away, offering kayak and pontoon boat rentals. The town of Summersville, another five miles north, has several grocery stores, restaurants and service stations. Mountain Lake Campground is a privately managed campground with lake access. Summersville Lake Retreat is three miles east on Route 129 offering cabins and lighthouse tours. World-renowned rock climbing on the New River Gorge- just 18 miles south. Within the 63,000 acres of New River Gorge River are over 1,400 established rock climbs. "The New" has become one of the most popular climbing areas in the country. The cliffs at New River Gorge are made up of a very hard sandstone, and range from 30 to 120 feet in height.

Battle Run

A 60-unit wooded, semi-primitive campground centrally located on a ridgetop between the Cranberry and Williams Rivers. Located off Forest Road 101 in Webster County. Approximately 13 miles from Richwood, WV and 3 miles from Dyer, WV.

Bishop Knob Campground

The closest campground to the New River Gorge Bridge. Chestnut Creek Campground offers quiet primitive camping in the woods. We are a mere half a mile (0.5mi) from the New River Gorge Bridge! That's walking distance folks. Our hygienic facility has hot showers, lavatory stalls, hand washing sinks, and a wash basin located outside for dish washing and filling up water jugs. Firewood and Ice are available on site as well. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire pit. A general store and burrito bar are located literally around the corner; Both are within walking distance. Hiking and Climbing trail-heads (Fern Buttress, Endless Wall, Beauty Mountain; to name a few) are just down the way and access to the river is a stone's throw away (our drive is just across from Fayette Station Rd). If you're wanting to venture further to more local restaurants/shops; we are only a 5 minute drive from downtown Fayetteville. We are a pet friendly establishment for those with dogs who love to travel as much as you do. We keep quiet hours from 11pm-7am (starts @ midnight on weekends). Mainly we accommodate rustic tent camping, however; some sites are able to accommodate pop-up campers and trailers up to 20ft (we do not have hookups/electric). Chestnut Creek Campground

A 33-unit semi-primitive, wooded campground with paved access roads and parking spurs, located approximately 10 miles from Richwood, WV, adjacent to a popular 43-acre cold water fishing lake.

Summit Lake Campground

## Overview

Gerald Freeman Camp is nestled in the headwaters of Sutton Lake in central West Virginia, 70 miles north of Charleston. The area provides a wide variety of recreational activities, including boating, swimming, fishing and hiking.

## Recreation

Anglers find plentiful bass, crappie, catfish and sunfish in the lake. The Elk River below Sutton Dam is well-known for its muskie and walleye fishing, and trout are stocked in the Downstream area. Fire roads and hunting trails in the surrounding lands provide great hiking and biking opportunities around Sutton Lake and at the nearby Elk River Wildlife Management Area. A variety of campground activities are scheduled throughout the summer for children of all ages.

## Facilities

This large campground offers 158 campsites. 113 sites have electric hookups and 37 sites have full hookups. Boat ramps and a marina with a snack bar are located on-site. Younger visitors love the campground's playgrounds and basketball courts. Other facilities include hot showers, flush toilets, water fountains, and two trailer water / dump stations. 

## Natural Features

Sutton Lake covers 1440 acres as it winds 14 miles up the Elk River. Many quiet coves can be found along its 40 miles of shoreline. The lake is surrounded by rolling hills wooded with mixed stands of oak, hickory, poplar and cherry trees. Wildlife, including deer, turkeys, squirrels, ruffed grouse, Canada geese and other waterfowl, is abundant in the area.

## Nearby Attractions

The Elk River Wildlife Management Area contains nearly 18,000 acres of public hunting lands. The terrain is diverse and divided into the Elk River and Holly River sections. The Elk River section consists primarily of steep hills, ridges and benches, while the Holly River section is on the north side of the lake and consists of forested hills and open farmlands.   
  
Additional camping facilities are available on a first come, first served basis at Bakers Run Campground and Bee Run Primitive Campground.

Gerald Freeman Campground

We are a small, homestead farm with chickens, pigs, and bunnies, located 1.25 miles off the paved road, over 2 miles from the nearest residence. Our hideaway farm is 80 acres centered on the convergence of two babbling creeks, in a valley between three mountains. 

We are happy to teach you about our homestead lifestyle or set your campsite and just relax. Our Main Circle is where our bonfires, cabana, and home trailer is. You are welcome to camp at the Main Circle where we have electricity and Wifi or you can camp elsewhere. Campers are encouraged to camp at Kolb Field along Coon Creek, under a great-grandfather walnut tree or hike the mountain and set camp secluded away from everyone. 

We have a public dirt road that is seldom traveled through the property, we do suggest having an SUV or 4x4 when coming but, regular cars can get here and we can help you get to your site in our pick up truck. RVs and non-4x4 cars can only get to the camp area during dryer times of the year, please ask if you have a RV. If you have a car that can't get to Kolb Field because of high water, we do have other areas you can camp at. 

We LOVE to Bar-B- Que! We offer on special weekends, mostly holidays to join us for BBQ dinner at the Main Circle. You will notice a slightly higher price for camping on these nights, that compensates us for your dinners. These Holidays are some of the best times to visit if you like to socialize around a camp fire! Below is a schedule of some of these special nights…

June 20th/ Gassaway Days, Anniversary of West Virginia 1865, Our local town has a big street festival, car show and live music, super fun! 

4th of July Week/ Freedom Week, Ten days from the Friday before to the Sunday After the 4th, one day for each of our 10 Amendments in the Bill of Rights. We try to do daily themes for each Amendment. Of course there will be fire works!!! 

Labor Day Weekend, Union Workers get a 50% refund. Your hard work doesn't go unnoticed! 

Halloween, Great to play hide and seek in the woods and scare the crap out of your kids! 

Thanksgiving/ Deer Hunting Season, You can come hunt and have a BBQ'd Turkey dinner with us with all the trimmings!
